True but I guess Lu Bu had more of an iconic presence in the series that it was enough for him to have his own perspective in DW8:XL. Even though Yuan Shao had notable battles against Dong Zhuo, Gongsun Zan and Cao Cao, I don’t think it was enough.

He was part of the campaign for Ye though. Since the DW games don't even mention it (except for DW6) then the only way to include him here is by putting him at Guandu.

DW is based more on Romance of the Three Kingdoms than actual history.

I guess it's just what they had him set to use for cutscenes? It sort of happens with Xiahou Dun too, he always has the basic sword in cutscenes rather than his unique one.

It's possible he originally had the Rapier moveset when the game was in development and they never changed the cutscene.
