Dynasty Warriors 7: XL - Shu Story Mode 15 - Battle of the Wuzhang Plains

Shu's ending is somewhat unique in that you play as a completely new character for the last stage, Jiang Wei. He has the basic spear moveset. If this wasn't XL, he'd share movesets with Zhao Yun so he wouldn't feel too different, but in XL it's pretty noticeable. Well worth it for more unique movesets of course. Anyways, the spear moveset is pretty reliable and he has a pretty good grab musou too.
The first stage has us deal with a 3 way assault from the Wei forces. It's not too hard though, the left side basically takes care of itself too.
The second stage is the real Wuzhang Plains battle. The enemies here are really more "Jin" than "Wei", if you hadn't noticed in the previous battle. Sima Yi and his force has a lot of strategies to throw at you, and they can push your army quiet a bit.
Jiang Wei's speech at the end is pretty damn bitter sweet when you know how it ends. It's a nice speech but...well, on to Jin.

There's a special spot in my heart for Jiang Wei in DW, the way he just became this loyal and determined hero for Shu who kept trying to pursue the dreams of Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang right up until the end is just really touching.

It's a great and also a true story too...his commitment turned into obsession and that became his downfall. But you gotta love it though the Dragon's Prodigy kept trying and refused to give up.

Massive respect to the Major we saw throughout the Shu story go from a mere peasant to a Major. I bet you, his sons became lieutenants and then officers. Maybe even named officers.

I'm seriously loving how Jiang Wei has grown to be more flawed, stubborn and unlikeable since DW7. It makes him feel more human compared to other characters.

For me all of his actions past Wuzhang Plains are clear to be seen as an extension of Jiang Wei's personality. It's not well liked, and his persistence is sickening, but that's exactly the point. He did what he could.

@@X1erra Jiang Wei is the very personification of the phrase “Never Give Up”. Like legit, he gave it his all, for the glory of Shu. Even after the collapse of Shu, he still tried to do a come back with the aid of Zhong Hui.

If only zhuge liang listened to Wei yan and take the 3rd route..shu would be victorious..zhuge liang is careful by nature..the only risky thing he did is playing zither in empty fort to fool sima yi.

But historically this was a firm loss for Shu as Sima Yi just held his defenses until Zhuge Liang died of illness, and then the Shu forces retreated. Just sayin'.

wasnt the official thing that Zhuge Liang sent him women's clothes to try and upset and force an attack from him but Sima Yi just stayed in the castle

Yeah that's right, Shu's supplies were running out so he had to force Sima Yi to attack so he taunted him and harassed his soldiers, but Sima Yi knew Zhuge Liang was desperate and did nothing. As long as Sima Yi was there Zhuge Liang or Jiang Wei would never win.

I just wanted to let point out that I have this game for PS3 and this stage is not from the Dynasty Warriors 7 Extreme Legends it is from Dynasty Warriors 7 original just Dynasty Warriors 7 it is the final stage in Shu's Story Mode I don't know if it also is in Dynasty Warriors 7 Extreme Legends but it is from Dynasty Warriors 7

If you have both games, you can play DW7 content in DW7:XL. It changes character's movesets, adds Guo Jia into certain stages, and changes AI and other minor things somewhat.

Bro Wu ending was the best. Shu had many movie animations but got betrayed and lost at the end. Wei is the worst out of three, Cao Cao should take a rest when Dian Wei died but he didn't so he deserve tjat ending...
