Richard (April 11, 1935 - March 5, 2006) 6'5" (196 cm) and 270 pounds (122 kg), was a contract killer for the mafia in America. He killed 150-200 people during 40 years of his free life before he finally got caught at 51 years old. His nickname was "The iceman", "The one-man army" and "The Devil himself".

martin I think it’s a mixture. I think some of what he said was completely truthful. Some of it had bits of truth injected into. And I think a lot of his crazy lies were because he found it entertaining to screw with people like that. He was sitting in prison for the rest of his life and I imagine it gets rather boring. He is most likely and compulsive and pathological liar. I find him extremely fascinating from a distance. Regardless of the lies he still killed a lot of people and was an incredibly dangerous man. The way he speaks is calm but his eyes say something completely different.

I see the thing about him doing the lip raise and click when angry but at the same time I bet me or you would get annoyed with some questions eventually if a camera and light was on our face while a dude was sat across from us trying to soft-interrogate us. Think about it, it would only need for me or you to have a puncture on the way there or some other really annoying thing happen then our persona would quickly change to "irritable" if anyone tried to question us. The 'body language experts' too I've seen a bunch of alternate ones where a bunch of normal people who were factually telling the truth about a good event that had just happened would display the same characteristics as liars, just because they were nervous on camera or that was just how they acted, that was their normal body reaction to everything yet going on these "experts" vids you'd jail them and throw away the key for showing all the traits.

That man was terrifying. The way he just casually mentioned to the interviewer how he "almost made him mad" and also that he didn't know why he was mad. It actually gave me chills to hear that. He didn't even raise his voice or outwardly show anger by reacting violently. It is possible to feel no compassion for a person if you deem them undeserving of it. Kind of like how a regular person would never hurt someone random walking down the street but if that same person walking down the street came after their loved ones they would feel no remorse or compassion smashing their head in, what changed? Their perception of the individual did and if someone like Kuklinski who were abused as a youngster, decided that a person had humiliated him like those other boys did to him or how his father criticized him constantly, he would deem them as unworthy of his compassion. No doubt though that he was mentally ill and that heavily contributed to it but it's difficult to completely relate him to a lot of the other serial killers besides the fact that he did indeed kill a lot of people.

You can see in his words when he says "I don't really know what did it" when he mentions getting angry about feeling judged like his father did, that this is probably what prompted Richard to ask Dietz near the end of their interviews to help him figure out what's going on his head. That being the part where Richard says his life has come "full circle" and it's time for him to die. He was attempting to make peace with everything he'd done. Pretty obvious why his guy was dubbed the Iceman

Finally an intelligent comment from someone who fucking gets it. Half the people in here have no clue about the reality of Richard Kuklinski. He wasn't just some nut case, he was made into the kind of person he was through the brutality of his parents. Of course he was past the point of no return and had to be kept away from people, but I only really attribute a small portion of the blame to him. He probably would have turned out quite normal if his parents has simply loved him, but they were evil and they created a monster. It's actually sad.

what is also fascinating is the level of calmness, at least seemingly, and self control, in terms of not exhibiting regular displays of rage such as screaming, shouting, cussing, etc. externally placid, internally having a volcano eruption, with almost zero outward signs of such extreme reaction. "the damaged brain", it seems to have a certain electrical short circuit (trigger, as they say) - that point of no return (psychologically and physiologically), after which he enters a killer mode, and cannot stop under almost any circumstances. yet he still remains in a controlled, solid form that enabled him to effectively kill or cause harm, without being reckless, traditionally "pissed", and hence easily exposed and caught. in a way, his mind was "blank" in this specific state, but his body was perfectly functional. on the other hand, he also had this ability even without that particular emotional baseline. he killed with and without "rage" in identical ways. his brain should have been studied while he was alive.
