I really appreciate how you appreciate nature by using fallen trees and dead logs. Loads of other survival channels i’ve noticed don’t do the same; they’re always sawing down huge trees, but you’ve always been leaving minimal impact on the environment, it’s really heartwarming to see!

As someone who lives in a tropical country with no great camping spots I love and really appreciate these videos. When I realized it was winter in Canada I suddenly remembered your channel. It really helps me relax and take my mind of what's going around the world right now. Some tips regarding your calzone, pack the dough separately and individually and flour the surface so that it wont stick to whatever it is wrapped on. You shouldn't introduce any moisture to your dough until you're ready to cook it.

Another epic adventure! Fatwood is wonderful. I love the smell, the sight of the dark, resinous smoke signaling success. A little tip you may already know: file the spine of your Mora to a sharp 90° angle, then scrape the fatwood sticks with the spine. It creates a sticky “dust” like what you got with the Leatherman (?) that takes a spark more easily than shavings.

Filing the spine also allows it to be better used for throwing sparks from a ferro rod. Most knives have a ever so slightly rounded spine which just slips along the ferro rather than scraping it deep enough to throw a shower of sparks.

@Marco… A magician never reveals his tricks. This is honestly the part about Xander’s videos that makes him so magical. Tons of guys do it but Xander has perfected it. He knows how to tell a compelling visual story with his angles and timing of clips. He is incredible and I personally would hate to have that magic “stolen” from me by having it all explained for me. I love being surprised each time like a kid at a magic show. Keep the wonder alive Xander. That’s my vote at least. And anyone who agrees with me can like my comment or they can like the one above me if they want to see the magic ruined. Lol.

Ok, first off let me congratulate you for being among the first of the Bushcraft KZbinrs to address having a bowel movement in the woods. This subject never gets any commentary, but the reality is that if you are camping out, more than likely you will need to relieve yourself somewhere during your outdoor adventure. nice demo on how to dispose of your pile of waste. I usually just pile a heaping of snow on my masterpiece and then poke a few sticks in the pile as a reminder of what lies below! I also carry a pack of nonscented baby wipes which I keep in my inside coat pocket to keep them from freezing. Comes in handy sometimes

What you eat is such an amazing and critical component of these videos. I'd encourage you to bring some sweet potato along on your next journey. Throw them right into the coals - bury them in the ash if you can. They'll come out blackened and puffed up on the outside, and they'll have steamed in their own shell. Throw some butter in there, because butter is delicious. No waste to carry out - just huck the shells into the woods for nature to scavenge. Thanks for another inspirational film. I look forward to heading out again soon (when the overnights in Algonquin aren't below -30º).

Beard game is ON point! For your dough: try parchment paper or Saran Wrap for the stickiness! Have you ever wanted to try a soup or a stew while you were out? Can always pretty cut the ingredients and the like and just let it simmer while you chop fire wood or set up camp :)

Thank you for another great video. Very peaceful, therapeutic, informative. And I think that amount of green onions makes it a salad. Nice!

For some reason watching these videos makes feel better about my depression. I would love to have the balls to go camping (not that I afraid of being alone in the woods just that I lack of the initiative but I bet that must be somehow addictive once one start doing it).

I keep seeing a reacuring theme on this channel, croissant sandwiches, tortilla, cheese and salami wraps, baked potato with cheese and green onions. But cheese seems to be the cohesive factor. Food is life I agree.

Xanders channel deserves 1M+ subs. I might not always be able to spend as much time as I'd like in the wilderness but watching your videos takes my mind to the place I want to be. Keep up the great work. Much love from the UK.

Food tastes so much better outdoors. I like how you really treat yourself to good meals . . . we'd go skimpy on pbj sandwiches and chips and stuff and were always hungry, lol.
