Just so ya know! All trees used as firewood in the video are dead trees. Live trees don't make good firewood as they contain a lot of water and moisture (I also love trees). Trees that die standing make excellent firewood as they remain less penetrable to rainwater over wood that's laying on the ground. Have a great day :D

Eggs are sold at room temp in Australia and they last for weeks. I think the advice is if once they are refrigerated, you are supposed to keep them chilled or else there could be condensation and it is the water droplets that can harbour bad microbes that could spoil the eggs.

with the eegs it depends how they are treated in canada. if they are washed (natural protective layer removed) than they dont last that long. germs can get easier trough the shell. in other countries they dont wash them so they last longer because there is a protective layer. in europe for example it is even prohibited to wash them before selling. thats why they also sell them without beeing refrigerated. they even recommend not putting them in refrigerators so they stay dryer (in Europe/Germany). Just read that Canada washes them like USA. So be carefull having them to long not cooled.

this one time me and my husband went on holiday with our tent and it rained 3 days straight. Everyone was inside of their tents and you could see it was soaked in there meanwhile we were outside under the tarp with a makeshift campfire inside of our foldable mini grill enjoying life. Somehow we always dread rain but in the end it's always an awesome experience at least if you are well prepared

Eggs can be out of the fridge and still be perfectly healthy and tasty to eat for many days. Keeping them in the fridge is very Northamerican. In Germany they have 2 expiration dates - one cooled, one for not cooled eggs. The shell is actually a very potent protection from spoilage.

Fresh unwashed eggs are ok at room temperature for about 2 weeks. They last around 3 months refrigerated. French toast is delish and best when using stale bread or slightly toasted bread. Poke it with a fork before soaking for maximum delight. Maple syrup is a wonder food! The background music you insert in most of your videos is ethereal and absolutely perfect!

Xander, I did a quick scan to see if anyone else had talked about eggs. We take "fresh from the chicken butt" eggs, unwashed, and then they can be safely kept unrefrigerated. Do not wash them until needed - that coating is needed to protect them from the air spoiling them.

Looks like a ZPack bit of gear there!? If it is, coooool always wondered what they'd be like. Eggs can last a long time out of a fridge, depending how the animal husbandry. In the UK where animal standards are high, we don't put eggs in the fridge because of this. Places like the US have poor animal husbandry, have to use chemicals to clean the shells which weakens them making them more susceptible to disease etc.

That breakfast sandwich looks amazing dude!!! Just recently came across your channel a few weeks back and I think I've finally watched all your camping vids. Really enjoy your stuff and how down to earth, wholesome, entertaining, transparent and educational you are. You're a real inspiration with the content you create and coming from someone who lives near the Blue Ridge Mountains in Northern Virginia, I havent taken much advantage of the nature around me and you helped me realize that. I am always glued to my computer desk these days and I used to go on hikes with friends, camped a handful of times, and done the occasional fishing. But now after watching all of your videos, it makes me have that spark of adventure again and I think I'm going to pursue that. Just want to say thanks for what you do, glad you enjoy doing it and I'm happy you're going strong with your sobriety. Looking forward to your next trips my man
