Awesome review! I have the 7 string version of this guitar and it is the best guitar I have ever played. The stainless steel frets are a dream to play and it sounds amazing. I agree with the lack of low end but if you lower the (the word escapes me) individual screws for each string on the bridge pickup just to where they are flush with the pickup housing it solves that, at least it did for me. Mine came with them all raised pretty high and it had the sound of a cocked wah pedal especially on leads. I actually liked it at first but then started missing the chug you mentioned so I tried lowering the little individual poles (that’s the word!) and it was instantly solved. I may actually raise them back up for recording leads because it really sounds cool but not so great for rhythm..great job man!

I have the gray version, with the same specs as this one. First the heavy neck may be a little bit of the carbon reinforcement rods? The sustainiac is tons of fun especially since it has a intensity control that a lot of sustainiacs dont come with. For the price these axes are feature rich. 🎶🎸

If you ask me, the Rockerverb sounds like it certainly helps with filling in the low end, which melds perfectly with those pickups!

I have a Schecter C-1 Platinum FR S and I LOVE it. Schecters are really killing it. You really turned me on to Kononykeen Guitars in a big way and I am ever so grateful. I actually spoke with the company about my modding ideas on a breed fifteen guitar. They have a very cool customer service staff. Do you have a preference between Kononykheen and Schecter? I have some very interesting mod ideas I want to pursue.

@StayMetalRay I recently received a C1 SLS Elite, I noticed the action is low (which is great) but i notice a lot of fret buzz. Even with trust rod adjustment. Curious if you had issues on your Evil Twin or on the Apocalypse you did with the Demo. Would you return this one? I'm very worried that the build quality may be in question. I'm torn between getting the Evil twin frs or the apocalypse frs. The apocalypse has passive pickups and the intensity knob. On the other hand the ET has the active fishmen but no intensity control. Can you explain the function of the intensity knob and whether it's worthy/must have feature or not. Do you think the lack of the knob would mean the intensity is at max by default?

i have a guitar that comes with sustainiac . The sustainiac intensity varied from string to string and from frets to frets . Thus the intensity knob is very useful to fully even out the string response as you switch from note to note.

I went with the 7 string version. I wanted an ultimate guitar since my 6 string fr/s just broke. I had a kill switch on it. Gunna see if schecter will warranty it, it’s been 9 months and the saddle broke then while removing the bridge the stud that the edge goes against slid out. I’m not even hard on my guitars. Either way, needed another guitar that was at least better. I love my 8 string but hate that it lacks a sustainiac or a Floyd for that matter. I feel like more guitars in general should have more features.

How was the neck profile comparison between the Ultra Thin C on the SLS Elite and the regular Thin C neck on the Apocalypse? Really curious because this has deterred me from pulling the trigger on Apocalypse.... I really really love the Ultra Thin C neck profile

Its definitely not as thin, but still fast. It's way more comfortable than the ultra thin for me, because of my bigger hands. Plus the natural satin neck feels so good to play on. I'd compare it to a modern stratocaster neck maybe? Like a player series

What does third knob control? Guitar and playing sounds great! Guitar has a 26 something scale length which is unusual and that may be the low end missing. Longer than Fenders

Yeah the back and neck are natural satin swamp ash, amazing feeling and incredibly fast. Same color back as the rust grey apocolypse guitars

The sls elite is amazing but so is the apoc....believe the sls had just a little thinner of a neck but this apoc neck is still pretty thin

After the Sustainiac-novelty wares off (which doesn't take long) the Sustainiac becomes a useless waste of pickup space. It's best to order one with EMG pickups in the neck and bridge positions.

@@mixc8 My regular (no Sustainiac) Schecter Hellraiser C1 with a Floyd Rose came with a Bridge-Emg 81TW Humbucker, and a Neck-Emg 89R Humbucker. Keep in mind that the pickups are Active, and they sound great, but I'm no real fan of having to change the 9v battery, because I practice a lot , but that's up to you. Hope this helps.
