God’s plague on the Nile River was a blow to everyone, but the Egyptians adapted and got by. The frogs were a horrible nuisance too. But the third plague brought physical pain that seemed almost unbearable. In the third plague, God afflicted the Egyptians with gnats. This was especially difficult, because the Egyptians were fanatics about cleanliness, but they were covered with these insects. The gnats also penetrated their nostrils and ears, which would have been very painful. Interestingly, while Pharaoh’s magicians duplicated the Nile turning to blood and the plague of frogs, they couldn’t duplicate this one. This reminds us that although the devil has considerable power, there are limitations to it. We might think that just as God is omnipotent, so is Satan. And just as God is omniscient, so is the devil. But that is not true. God knows everything; Satan has limited knowledge. God has all power; Satan clearly has limited power. Even after these plagues, Pharaoh’s heart continued to harden. So, God sent the fourth plague: an invasion of flies. Exodus 8:24 says, “And the Lord did just as he had said. A thick swarm of flies filled Pharaoh’s palace and the houses of his officials. The whole land of Egypt was thrown into chaos by the flies” Meanwhile, God intervened in an amazing way for His people. From the fourth plague on, God protected the land of Goshen in Egypt where the Israelites lived. While other people in Egypt suffered through the plagues, God protected this area. Psalm 91 gives us this promise: “Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you. Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished” (verses 7-8) These are wonderful, comforting words. But they are conditional. This psalm contains a series of conditional promises that are ours if we do our part. God promises that He will protect us. He promises that His angels will be around us. But what do we need to do? We must “live in the shelter of the Most High”(verse 1) We must also “make the Lord [our] refuge” and “the Most High [our] shelter” (verse 9) When we do that, the promises of Psalm 91 are ours. God wants to be our hiding place. This means that God will protect the believer. What may happen to nonbelievers as they reap the consequences of their sin won’t happen to believers because they are seeking to live godly lives. Does that mean Christians won’t suffer? No. Does that mean Christians won’t die? No.. But it does mean that Christians won’t die before their time. They will die when their day has come and not a second before. And when death does come for Christians, God promises they will be taken into His presence in Heaven. God will protect us. He will protect us on earth until our final day.

I love the way Gold almost bumbles through the entire game, it reminds of playing Pokemon games as a little kid and you go in with no knowledge or planning and sorta of brute force your way through

yoshi yoshi is more like there there and its like comforting someone, usually a baby. hora is harder to translate in these contexts. Shaanainaa is short form for shoganainaa and its like "i guess i have no choice" or something along those lines

A lot of fucked up stuff happens to a lot of random characters in this, but I think those scenes shine a bit more because of it. I haven't seen a pokemon animation this unique or enjoyable in a long time (probably since Golder not that I'm comparing). This really stands out both animation-wise, and comedically. Edit: please let hoppip and ditto get their comeuppance

Ok, the bike being a mobility scooter is genius. I really love that this series so far does not pull its punches with jokes or softens them up to be more "palatable" instead seeming like jokes you enjoyed making. Telling a story without dialogue is not easy but you also nailed it, does help that I played Gold before. Hoppips face gives me Krupp vibes (Captain Underpants). Absolutely take as much time with these animations as desired for the best quality and humor possible.

I loved this, so much. I loved the weird horror(?) that would creep up every once in a while, Cyndaquil completely raging on the Pigeotto, all the bullying, the weird dreams, but I found the panic attack at 20:55 to be especially interesting. I dunno, it just feels more like real life for anything like that to happen. Like, sure it’s weird, and maybe that scene is unnecessary as some other viewers said. I honestly found myself rewatching it though. I was trying to figure out why it might be in the video. I looked up who that character was in the original game, apparently a woman who would give you a quick claw if you talked to her. So it doesn’t really solve the mystery. I don’t think it was played for laughs either, as Silver was the only one laughing in the scene (and the main characters are jerks cause their kids anyway). I hope there’s at least one more scene with the panic attack character in part 2. The scene was such a good hook to explore more of her character. The sound design in particular was 👌

You really captured the feeling of nostalgia associated with these games through sfx, colors, editing etc. I love the humor, some of the visual gags have that timeless looney tunes feel. Pokémon animations on youtube rarely prove to be this creative, entertaining, and well crafted. I’m excited for subsequent entries to this series! :)

Everything about this is fantastic. I love all the little details that show an immense level of care, appreciation, and attention to the source material (Spinarak keeping the same off-coloring from Gold & Silver, etc.), and the characters have a ton of personality. I was rolling on the floor when Hoppip started beating up the baby Pokemon.

I agree that Ethan is his name now but Gold was the name he had for 10 years. I feel like it wasn't just a placeholder cause they would've also gave Silver a more standard name to line up better with Ethan. Or maybe they thought it would be weird if the Male MC was Gold while Lyra just had a normal name idk. More people played Gold and Silver and know him as Gold and calling him that is fine imo. It was his name for a time and most people know who you're talking about when you call him Gold. it doesn't confuse people like the Blue vs Green situation does at least. Or who knows maybe its like the Green vs Leaf situation both are counterparts to each other that appear in the video games but have different names. Maybe GSC "Ethan" really is just Gold While he's only known as Ethan in HGSS.

@@CEDL0W Except he was never officially called Gold outside of the placeholder, he didn’t have a name until HGSS, again Masters confirmed his name is Ethan in Gen 2 as well, Green and Leaf aren’t the same person in the games, and both Blue and Green are technically correct as both are officially used for the game version of Blue in different parts of the world.

I love the art style so much, its like a mix of gbc games with puffy character design but at the same time plastic enough to deform them and make them look so disgusting and agressive, when I saw that scyther blood thirsty without looking out of place with each other cute design I notice that I was watching something of really high quality, absolutely loved it.

Being the first video on this channel I've watched, I came into this video expecting something like vastly akin to Terminal Montage, with hidden references everywhere, relentless amounts of modern memes and the whole thing just generally being fast-paced, but what I got was something spectacular. The clever use of sound effects and fusion of semi-real gameplay with the simple animation kept me laughing every ten seconds. Hoppip is an exceedingly hilarious bully; that Day Care sequence with Ditto joining in? Fuckin' hell, I had to rewatch that like five times. Cyndaquil's character development from being a pussy to evolving and blowing up Bugsy's Gym made it such an endearing character that I was actually really proud of it when it manned up enough to finally kick some ass. The fat jokes made at Gold's expense are classic, and I love how even he joined in when everyone was laughing at that poor Miltank. This is truly an outstanding animation. It's unlike anything I've ever seen, and I cannot wait for the second part. Good on ya, Xandrecos & Golfinho, and thank you so much for the laughter. EDIT: I was supposed to type this initially, but I had forgotten until now: What the fuck was up with that scene of Silver and the panicking girl in National Park?
