+Konos 5 Maybe she left band,but this was same as kicking her. I’M LEAVING XANDRIA. The moment I promised you and me that would never come is here: I am leaving Xandria. And the reason is simple: staying in the band would cause further damage to the health problems the band has caused me. For nearly 2 years now I’ve been trying to put band and management issues on the table, with the sole reason to keep this band healthy, together and ready for the future. Today I am sad to say that my attempts failed and have been ignored, that my cries for help have been met with financial threats and emotional extortion and that my persistence to keep on going, ignoring all the warning signs, has left me with uncontrollable stress symptoms (confirmed by doctors). I am a fighter, but I’ve come to see that this is one I cannot win. I don’t want to leave, I love the music that I got to write for you - which is 100% me - but I can’t live, can’t perform, can simply not exist in an environment that harms me. This environment does not care for me nor for the fans (even proposed me to playback in order to do more shows in a row) and somehow miraculously never generated any financial outcome and therefore no stability for any of its band members. Yesterday evening the last hope I had of ever reconciling with the boys was shattered when they made a statement announcing that ‘I’ could not perform with the band anymore, forgetting to mention that I am in this unhealthy position because of Xandria & management. Not surprisingly they also already have a replacement for me and kicked me out of every Xandria social media page. With that they’ve send me one last clear message: they are not interested in fixing the situation nor are they willing to support me if that means (partly) stepping away from the business perspective (quote: ‘we are not friends’) which leads me to conclude what I know now: it is time for me to close this chapter and wish them the best of luck in continuing the band I loved so much. Now, I don’t know where we will meet again, but I didn’t follow my passion, study all those hours and travel all those roads to simply give up. I’m sad to close this chapter, but I’m sure there will be another one to write. In the meantime I will be focussing on what does make me happy and I will be posting my daily business and updates on my Precious Metal Jewelry and Ex Libris stuff as usual. I very much hope to see you online so we can stay in touch and who knows, maybe one day in an audience again. Thank you all for understanding, for your love and support! Hallien Astareal the band is not an outstanding one, the music sounds like a mix of Nightwish and Epica and there seems to be no originality in the compositions. The only outstanding thing in Xandria's music in this new "style" they're working on were the singers' voices. Both Manuela and, mainly, Dianne are excellent singers. But this is just a good band, that has no greatness in itself.

Gotta say I actually comprehend the meaning of the video and how it ties in to the song. It's about how Xandria travels to different places bringing life to people through music. It's portrayed by a dirigible that they are riding on as the main attraction through the seven seas. It's cool but abominable that they would do this without Dianne. And just think, had Dianne stayed, they might have made the right choice and done an awesome music video cos they'd have had the budget with Dianne's awesomeness. Xandria are goners without Dianne.

Every voice is unique. About vocal level, Aeva Maurelle showed that Xandria could find equal replacement of course temporary in this case but could. And I hope last album will remain as first bad album of Xandria. Main problem of Xandria in composing music, earlier Marco as main composer had considerable help from other members mainly Lisa. But after Sacrificium IMHO Marco as composer burnt out. In any cases Marco is genius, Lisa is best singer, I do not know about Nicole but I suppose Lisa is better. This pair Marco and Lisa created Xandria legend.

Incidentally, I'm still waiting for Simone to display her full potential again, like she used to do back in the good, old days. Yes, Dianne will never be forgotten because she's brought so much to this band. She left her hallmark, especially with their latest album. But I mean, life goes on. The world goes on, as should all bands. Nightwish didn't release the best album with Floor. They were kind of stuck inspiration-wise. So they took a whole year off. Xandria's last three albums were a radical change of style. Nevertheless, I can't see any positive advance or development in Epica's composition skills.

Well, it's not that I hate it. I simply dislike it. I bought their last two albums, from which I only enjoyed the former. I don't even recall listening to the whole of The Holographic Principle. Every album is supposed to involve a certain evolution towards a certain direction for every band. If any band releases two consecutive albums with the same style, the second is likely to be the bad one. I haven't seen any evolution in the latest Epica's material. I just see new material coming out over and over again. Why release so many albums, EPs, etc nearly all at once? Take time off and search for new inspiration sources. Simone's Voice on The Solace System is bad. And the EP doesn't bring about anything new. Their newer EP Attack on Titans or something like that does not make any sense for me. If they like the songs from that anime, go cover them in your live shows. But, come on! Is it really necessary to release a second EP in such a short period of time? All in all, I feel these guys are mistaking quantity for quality.

I completely agree with you! Remember what happened when Anette was in the band? DPP was considered to be pretty average (although I like it pretty much), and then came Imaginaerum, one of the greatest artworks I've listened to in my entire life. I think something similar has happened with EFMB. Even though Floor had already been touring with NW for a few years before getting into the studio to record the vocals for the songs, I reckon the main problem was Tuomas' lack of inspiration. I love the power in Shudder Before the Beautiful, but I gotta admit they recycled the riff in Storytime. Same for the similarities between Dark Chest of Wonders and Yours is an Empty Hope. Hopefully, this year of rest they just had will mean Tuomas found new ways of doing magic.

I didn't think the first animated Epica video was that bad (definitely not that good either sadly - and the second one was pretty awful) but this is....ehhhh.... like, I absolutely love animation, I love animated music videos, I'm all for indie animators getting exposure early in their career, but I think these bands could make better choices. It's looking a little unprofessional and cheap at this point. Not that I could do any better, but really I wish they'd find people with better ability and an art style that doesn't look like they quit halfway through rendering :/

Xandria had the following singers : Nicole Tobien Lisa Schaphaus-Middelhauve Kerstin Bischof Manuela Kraller Dianne van Giersbergen Aeva Maurelle (temporarily) Xandria became the legend with Lisa. Lisa was and singer and composer, other singers of Xandria are not composers. In Lisa times Xandria had unique style but after it is standard symphonic metal. Now Xandria does not have a singer yet.

I don’t want to leave, I love the music that I got to write for you - which is 100% me - but I can’t live, can’t perform, can simply not exist in an environment that harms me. This environment does not care for me nor for the fans (even proposed me to playback in order to do more shows in a row) and somehow miraculously never generated any financial outcome and therefore no stability for any of its band members. Yesterday evening the last hope I had of ever reconciling with the boys was shattered when they made a statement announcing that ‘I’ could not perform with the band anymore, forgetting to mention that I am in this unhealthy position because of Xandria & management. Not surprisingly they also already have a replacement for me and kicked me out of every Xandria social media page. With that they’ve send me one last clear message: they are not interested in fixing the situation nor are they willing to support me if that means (partly) stepping away from the business perspective (quote: ‘we are not friends’) which leads me to conclude what I know now: it is time for me to close this chapter and wish them the best of luck in continuing the band I loved so much. Now, I don’t know where we will meet again, but I didn’t follow my passion, study all those hours and travel all those roads to simply give up. I’m sad to close this chapter, but I’m sure there will be another one to write. In the meantime I will be focussing on what does make me happy and I will be posting my daily business and updates on my Precious Metal Jewelry and Ex Libris stuff as usual. I very much hope to see you online so we can stay in touch and who knows, maybe one day in an audience again. Thank you all for understanding, for your love and support! Both Xandria and Nightwish (before 2006) have similar styles especially a operatic front woman. (Tarja and Dianne). That’s why their songs sounds quite similar.

I really don’t know what’s worse: promoting a work whose one of its members is gone or remaking a new version of this work with other vocalist on it. I believe that even that Krull’s Eyes (‘cause Liv’s gone too) band were better in that way. At least their first video with their new vocalist has her voice on it. But seriously, why didn’t Xandria use their time to create new songs, even if it’s something like “Xandria feat. Jane Doe”, just like Nightwish had done with Erämaan Viimeinen?

Xandria released - "promoting a work" collection album Now and Forever after Lisa departure. it is normally. Xandria does not have new singer yet. Leaves Eyes found new singer and then released clip with her. In any cases all rights belong Xandria. Dianne is not composer. All normally.

Alex Aga I wondered if it was best or worse, not normal nor legal. Yes, it is indeed legal and “normally”, but still not the best for such band to do that. As I said then: they should use this time to make new music instead of using others. Oh, and of course, doing something before is not an excuse to that later. Since they did something like that with their first vocalist, it only shows us they didn’t grow as a band.

Die Dunkelsequenz, This link shows that Dianne is counted as coauthor but not author of music. In this case all rights belong Xandria exclusively. Of course Xandria may allow Dianne to perform songs of Xandria as for example Theater of Tragedy allows Liv Kristine to perform their songs. This clip is part of last album. Author of this clip wrote on his FB page that it is released after 6 month in other words started before Dianne departure. Dianne is shown as skeleton as continuation of clip from Fire and Aches.

Alex Aga This is definitely no “continuation of Fire and [sic] Aches” clip. The clip from Fire and Ashes, “Voyage of the Fallen” video, is a Lyric Video. This one is a Music Video. There is a big difference between these two types of video and I don’t suppose neither of us have time to explain it to you. Besides, Dianne didn’t wake up some day and simply decide to left Xandria the day she announced it. She had been having problems with the band (including its managers and stuff) for a long time, probably since before the time this video was planned. So, we can’t know whether she agreed with this idea or not until, at least, she speaks. Yes, the link shows Dianne as writer of some songs, as well as it is written on my copy of the CD label. However, unless it was decided by both parts that the songs she wrote now belong only to Xandria itself, she remains author of these songs as they remain her intelligent property legally.

Xandria became big with Dianne. Before that, they were just dragging along. This was their best album. And the rest just has 1 or 2 good songs. They only became big because of Dianne's work on this album, the ties she already had in the scene and the fact that she's such a great singer. The rest were mere mediocre. They owe her everything they reached with and after this album. I doubt their next one will be this good. They just don't have the skills.

Also the album with Manuela was a way better than the albums with Dianne (quite generic albums) and Manuela is way better and powerful than Diane ... After the entire shitstorm from the Diane fanboys and fangirls I am becoming happy that they got rid of her ...

Xandria only became famous when they changed their style with Neverworld's End and Manuela! And thanks to Dianne they have been allowed to play on biger stages, because of her voice and charisma was the key to success. I come from the Lisa era and Xandria was not popular like these the last years what Aga says!!! Xandria lost their place now next to Epica and Nightwish!

The 19th place in Germany means almost nothing at all- it just means that because of the better distribution of Napalm the first week sales are bigger and the 40th place with Lisa (Drakkar label) was quite possibly accompanied with the same first week sales- also the place in the charts depends on the time of the year when album is released. If Dianne is that big factor why Exlibris is virtually unknown (and will stay unknown)?
