having personal battles/feuds with people makes MMOs so fun to me. The added human element makes the game feel more alive. Guild beefs can be a bit extreme sometimes but a few quarrels can spice up the gameplay.

In TBC retail, I played resto druid and while I could solo heal through bear run, all alt characters in Kara would get full gear in 1 run (irl caused quit into S5)

Legion was also very random until you got the godd**m vendor for Legendaries... Not to mention Azerite powers and Corruption powers in BfA... Yeah, I do not miss those times...

You feel like alts get better gear because by the time your alt is leveled the content is older and on farm more. More Mains have the gear they need and so alts can get theirs. As the weeks go by everything is gonna get fed to you because less people need the gear. Yes, there is the :other people have alts, too" argument, but there's far less people with alts in the raid than there are Mains that need gear. There's also recency bias which someone said in chat. You're smarter than this Xar. You knew this.

25:50 I mean... my main was a warrior bc, in a speedrun guild, ofc it was. Difficult to get loot with 15-20 warriors (I was still farming onslaught & DFT well into p5). Probably still had better gear bc I didn't always run every available raid on my alts. But it did feel like gear was easier to get for them, especially the hunter. Didn't take that one beyond BWL but I got virtually every item I needed (incl. DFT) from BWL and MC in 5 runs each, more or less. Not sure if that feels like a waste on a character that existed only for DMT runs but maybe that's also just Classic hunter.

The problem with guilds is the guild leaders have their little clicks and you're not squat until all of those people are completely geared. I've lost gear to people that the item was a minor upgrade for them and a major for me.

Lost gear to a #11 dps pug who didnt even show up to finish, I was in top #5 fresh geared greens frost dk, first Naxx 10 1-2 place dps whole raid and gear kept being given to under performing guildies who even with the loot had shit dps after. Of course there are many other loot stories I have had withheld from me. They gear their friends, ignore me completely, I go entire raids only getting gear from token vendors, I dont say anything and get told that its literally no matter my roll loot is "Reserved", rng, whatever but you cant keep members when your shitty with fair loot. It was designed in mind with everyone in the group to get loot it is impossible to run 8 months of raid going from top dps to struggling to keep top when people are unfair to certain people when that certain people carried your group. I didnt do it to remain with the same gear, and just cause they where struggling and I was top is not a good reason to accept not getting obvious gear I work hard every week for, and was meant for my class and spec. Only so long people will accept shitty leadership. 8 months without any gear updates for whatever unknown petty bs going on behind doors losses good raiders. And Pugs dont get gear over guild first, you get gear only when everyone in the guild doesnt need it yet people think thats a good reason for not getting gear 8 months in a row too....
