Just a note: the 7 Days to Die on console is an extremely old port that the studio licensed to what was then telltale before they went bankrupt. The team at Funpimps only recently were able to win the rights back to their game in court. The current PC version of this game is completely different from the older console edition. Funpimps will be launching a new build of their game either later this year or early next year. Highly recommend with a group of friends. Jez would probably enjoy it...Rand maybe not.

What Rand said about Halo infinite, same happened to me, I played at launch and I was decent at the game, I came back a few weeks ago and no matter how hard I tried I only get 1k and 20 deaths. 😅😅

Its really depressing how the industry overlooks Xbox as a gaming publisher and platform because they really had a banger year. Starting with Hi Fi Rush its been hit after hit with the only flop being Redfall, but including both Age of Empires ports first party games have seen a major release nearly every month. I mean Hi Fi Rush (which btw is stupid amazing and fantastic value at only $30), AOE 2&4, Minecraft Legends, Redfall (flop), Starfield, Forza Motorsport, and major updates for Sea of Thieves, Halo Infinite (people forget its found its stride and been really good since the winter update and has only been on nitro since), ESO, and F76. Then as a cherry on top ABK closing. I definitely think Xbox needs to invest in building up their individual studios more and buying/creating new singular studios from different regions to supplement the massive chest of IP and push for new IP, but they’re in a really good place. It’s definitely possible for them to have a major AA at least every other month and a AAA game once a quarter. Volume and variety is quickly becoming Xbox’s competitive advantage. I just hope they’re smart because this is a time when the increasing prices is putting into question the value of other platforms and how they treat their players more than ever (I mean Spider-Man 2 has had to defend its $70 pricing (which I don’t think ANY game can properly justify)) and Sony and Nintendo are getting outed as being incredibly anti consumer. Its getting more in question how far brand and IP loyalty should go as gaming becomes more and more of a luxury with worsening ridiculously greedy pricing.

Starfail is 70 dollars too you xbot 🤡. Redfall wasnt the only flop, starfail is a flop too and so is forza , xbox been having L's up on L's. Sales are 35% down from last year. The series s is 75% of the total sales of the xbox the series x just 25%. Which insane and a complete destruction of the narrative. Also gamepass hasnt grown at all......😂

I think most of the problems for Halo stem from them going FTP, that sets certain expectations. All that 10 year game talk didn't help either. Phil said it best : "If we lose our way with Halo, we lose our way with Xbox."

With regards to ps5 slim pricing I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve left it as it is to make money from a lower cost manufactured product until the ps5 pro launches next year. At which point they’ll reduce the ps5 slim and launch the ps5 pro around £500

My biggest disappointment with hko infinite was that it didn't have one of those holy shit moments with. Gigantic ship in the distance or buildings being destroyed, or city gameplay. But otherwise for me it was the best one since 3.

Rand, putting a game on Gamepass is weaponizing and I'll explain. Every since I was a kid up to the age of I'd say 24, I was a massively casual gamer. I played whatever was available, meaning I had a PS3 as a kid and my friend had an Xbox 360. My older brother had an Xbox 360 as well. I never finished games and mainly played CoD. As an adult, I was in the military (age 18 to 26). Even during that time, I was pretty casual because I never had the time to play games. You know what got me more interested in games? Xbox Gamepass. I hated the PS4 gen because there was no Socom, MAG, Resistance, nor anymore Killzone. I realized my PS4 was a 3rd party box once I actually learned what that meant. Even knowing that, I was really close to getting a PS5. I remember, I was going to get the digital version to save money. But then, I found your channel, Colt and the RDX Podcast. I started to learn more. Then a month later, I seen the Xbox Series S/X showcase. I seen all of these shooters, Halo (a childhood favorite), STALKER 2 coming to console and so much more. Then I seen it, "coming day and date to Gamepass for $15 a month". You know what I did when I seen that? I pre ordered a Series S, subscribed to Gamepass, and played MCC from a damn phone as I excitingly waited for my Xbox to arrive to my house. How many more times you think that will happen with casual gamers? CoD will be in Gamepass next year or in 2025. Casuals WILL take notice of it. You're down playing the power of Gamepass. It's literally a sleeping weapon waiting for the right time to take the casual gamer.

The reason why last generation needed Pro systems, was because of weak launch specs, especially the Jaguar CPU cores. This is not the case this generation. If a PS5 Pro does release, I think it could be 699$ and only PlayStation first party would take advantage of the system. I don’t think Sony does release a Pro system.

I have seen a fan of a certain blue console be mad that Xbox isn’t making COD exclusive….even that they aren’t doing exclusive content….🤦‍♀️ From my understanding it’s more likely that Nintendo will get games from Xbox, as PlayStation didn’t sign the contract when other games was a part of it, they only signed the ten year contract when it only was for COD.

In order for Ubi to stream an ABK game on PS5 would the streamer need to purchase the game on the Xbox store? If so would MS care? If not wouldn't Ubi still have to pay MS for each minute played or whatever? Again would MS then care? Would Ubi have to build some sort of interpolation into the app for a PS5 controller to work? I'm just curious how difficult that would be. PS: would Ponies be willing to buy the game on the Xbox store if they had to, to play it?😅

Hey, Banjo IS A MUST for Xbox now. If they are not looking for sales but subscriptions, then a variety of games is needed. I don't ask for movie-like games like Sony, but I am tired of first-person games. Banjo with Mario's Odyssey movement, Conker in the style of Ratchet gameplay with a little High on life comedy tone, a Viva Piñata with 2 or 3 features from Animal Crossing. They can also do a party game like Mario party but with an IP of the same caliber, Minecraft, with guest characters like Crash, Spyro, etc. And that game can be a sucess in mobile too. Little by little, all the public attracted by any reason they have to those games, will look forward to what Xbox will show. Its something that Sony have with GOW, Spiderman or any japanese game, or Nintendo with Mario, DK, Pokemon, Zelda, etc. And what can you look forward in Xbox? Nothing for anyone outside the brand. That's why the importance of variety and games with great quality at launch.

One last thing, if any of the 2, Sony or MS, acquire the studio behind Nexomon and get a hold of the Digimon IP, such as Nintendo with GF and Pokémon Company, they have a GOLD MINE in ANY platform, be it mobile, PC or console.

Nintendo doesn't do it for me because it's kiddy stuff. I'm sure they play well but for me gameplay alone is not enough. Everything surrounding gameplay also needs to appeal to me. EDIT: Of course a new Halo campaign is in development or does anyone think the devs are twiddling their thumbs? Sure, there is a section of the team doing multiplayer for Infinite but not all of them or even the majority.
