No playstation game has came to xbox, death stranding can be considered loosely as one, but not really as the ip was sold off but let's consider that. But most stuff like god of war, Spider man 2018, uncharted, infamouse second son, etc if those come to xbox, than I'll believe it, but they are not.

I feel it is more to downplay the console. Sure, people can do that and buy some on PC but I feel Xbox will still provide a few time exclusives for consoles so its regular audience will still buy it. They are not growing the console but I feel neither is PS or possibly even Nintendo. Each has their audience (including people that get multiple consoles, same and/or different brand).

My steam Deck shits on my Series X and my PS5. Its not as powerful, sure, but i can play games from both sides and more generations of playstation games than any playstation console. Not to mention gamepass cloud runs pretty well and i can stream both my consoles to it. I dont understand why anyone would buy a portal over a SD but whatever, brand loyalists arent smart consumers generally. Console exclusivity is for man children to make a personality around arguing online with strangers instead of playing games. Most of the times these games seldom push boundaries and usually just safe theme park, casual experiences. Theres a reason why these dudes live in the comments sections instead of the the game worlds they never shut up about.

I personally feel the Series X will be my last console from Xbox. The reason for me is, I do not feel there will be an optical drive in their next console, I know I'm in the minority but I've never cared for Gamespass because I have a large back catalogue of games, so I never had the need to buy into the Gamespass ethos to rent games. I also will not pay full price for games that I'll never own. I feel this generation as been a disappointment for me. Even trying to get third party games on disc on Xbox is getting harder to find them.

Serious question, is it worth getting a series X at this time? I do have a PS five with 900 digital games or so, but PlayStation games get so damn expensive anymore. I know many of the games on game pass like Indiana Jones, call of duty Black ops six and much more, would save me lots of money versus buying those games full price on PlayStation five. But is it worth getting a series X if most of the games are going third-party?

Fact: If all Xbox games are released on Playstation then the next Xbox console sales will be noticeably worse than the current gen consoles. Those who will get the next Xbox will do so for Game Pass or for free enhancements to their existing collection of Xbox games. Game sales on Xbox consoles would fall to a record low. Let's look at the decision from a different perspective. What would happen if Sony decided to release all first party Playstation games on Xbox consoles and Xbox kept all of their first party games exclusive fo Xbox consoles and PC? That would decimate Playstation consoles. The only reason the Xbox console isn't completely dead is because they still have some exclusive games, have Game Pass (affordable for now), and didn't start this gen with a full multiplatform strategy. As for me, this could cause a change in my preferred platform if Game Pass is the only real benefit Xbox brings to the table since I don't game on PC. This would mean making game purchases on Playstation. It wouldn't matter much if an Xbox handheld is released since its likely that Sony would do the same.

If a Xbox PC Hybrid releases and is cheaper with a more console like feel then that's reason enough for some to prefer that over a traditional PC experience. The Steam Deck already shows that people are interested in a Console-PC combo and having one from Xbox will have their own advantages. Judging a whole idea before we even saw anything of it is already dumb enough since it's the execution of the idea that matters.

I like the idea of an Xbox/PC. I already prefer my PC over my Xbox and so if I could simply turn my PC into my Xbox, use it as both an Xbox and a PC, and have access to my full Xbox library on that hybrid system... I would do it.

Well the reason why the Xbox Console is selling flat is because Microsoft Xbox is not advertising the console enough!!!! Regardless if all xbox games go to PlayStation and switch 2 possibly. You have to be fairly wealthy to afford everything. Gaming is very expensive as is. I selectivly buy the odd game on sale. Of course I will buy gta 6 when it releases but I generally stick with gamepass as its very affordable. Plus having the time to game is hard as I work in healthcare doing 12 hour shifts so game time isn't easy I tend to play multiplayer as it's more easier than trying to finished a 30 hour game for example

Exclusivity is dying across all playtforms, at least full exclusivity. And, yes, that includes PlayStation. Nintendo MIGHT be the one hold out unless their games start getting to be more expensive to make as their hardware advances. But this is a future we need to all acknowledge is coming and we all just need to be cool with it.

That's like saying "some people think drinking poison is bad, some people think drinking poison is good, whatever your opinion bla bla bla." There are clear reasons why exclusives are good. Exclusives sell consoles. Selling consoles grows the userbase. Growing the userbase means more game sales. More game sales means more money to fund higher quality games. Higher quality games and exclusives mean more console sales. Rinse and repeat. It's an upward growing spiral. Xbox are on a downward shrinking spiral. I'm not trashing Xbox. I'm just stating decisions made by Xbox have consequences. If you don't have exclusives, you don't sell consoles. If you don't sell consoles you don't sell games. Game Pass was not sustainable in the long term, because nobody was buying games full price, so new games had to be funded out of low subscription revenue. Lower development budget means lower quality games. MS are not a charity, so any money borrowed off them has to be paid back. MS could see the problem and decided to exit consoles. Going full on 3rd party multiplat publishing was the only solution left, so they could get paid for the games they make. Xbox are not analysing if going full multiplat will harm console sales. Consoles are not working for them due to the decisions I listed above. Xbox are analysing if the other platforms will actually buy their products. MS want Xbox console gamers to jump to PS5 so they start buying Xbox games. MS cannot make any money off Xbox console gamers. But you can't be a 3rd party publisher if nobody will buy your games. To sell games on PlayStation, Xbox will have to raise their game and make better quality ports for PS5. MS have to work out how much do they need to spend to make PlayStation gamers buy the game, and will they get that money back in games sales. They certainly won't get the money back of Xbox gamers on Game Pass. Indiana Jones is a classic example. A lot of money was spent making that game. They will make a loss if they can't sell it on PS5. If MS can't make Xbox work as a publisher, they will just close Xbox down as a failed project.

I see people saying expanding the Xbox environment out to include PC games won't be enough to challenge Steam but I think they can compete IF big IF Xbox Games become playable on the PC ecosystem including handhelds this would add thousands of dollars of digital library instantly to their new hardware for me and that's compelling the same way Valves Steam Deck carries all your Steam Library day 1 into your device if Xbox can do this in a comprehensive way and include more storefronts as well it could be very successful if marketed correctly

I'm all for the multi-store/launcher box honestly. I use Epic Games Store launcher more than Steam due to their exclusives and focus on having the PC version of mobile games (Genshin, Star Rail, Wuthering Waves, Infinity Nikki now to name a few). So I don't want to be locked to Steam only. I want my Steam Library, Epic Games Library AND yes, my Xbox Games library, all on one device and the ability to pull from each store within an Xbox OS, with Xbox hardware. Throw in a desktop mode so I can play emulators and you win so, so much.

I don't know how Xbox expects to sell their next console without exclusives if they're going that route. Many won't care about Game Pass and wouldn't see it as mych of a selling point if they prefer buying their games instead of renting them. No exclusives will also destroy the value of the console in my opinion and have third party devs support the consoles less and less due to smaller sales. Historically it has been proven that exclusive games sell consoles, I believe that Nintendo Switch is a very good example of this. They help to also create an image for the brand and have things associated with the brand like how say Mario has always been associated with Nintendo and how Master chief has been always associated with Xbox. Losing that makes it harder to sell your ecosystem and console to existing and new customers imo. Yes, there will be people on Xbox consoles that will stay due to preferring the ecosystem and having a big game library but many will move to other platforms if all Xboxes games were to be ported. I am one of the people that will probably continue to buy Xbox consoles because of my game library, ecosystem preference and the fact that I grew up with an Xbox in my household and I always found Xboxes exclusives appealing to me but I am definitely interested in buying older PlayStation consoles to play some of their exclusives too. I am personally not happy with Xbox putting their exclusives on other platforms because it makes me question more and more my purchase of a Series X.

I don’t think you know just how much exclusives have been not as important this gen. The casuals which are the vast majority don’t care. If you take a look at PS highest selling game series which was the Spider-Man franchise which even with it’s copies that were included with the consoles bundles for PS4 then later for the PS5, that counted as units sold and the Miles Morales deluxe edition that included the PS5 Spider-Man Remaster counted as two units sold. Had sold around 50 million. Across the 117 million and 61.7 million for the PS4 and PS5 sold respectively, it’s not that much when you really look at the ratio here. And this is Sony’s most profitable game franchise which isn’t even theirs and have to pay a huge licensing fee. Casuals care where their friends are or where their library is at. It’s mostly just a thing of preference and legacy now than exclusives being the main selling point like they were in the PS2/360/PS4/XBONE days.

I don’t really understand the hatred for Xbox’s multiplatform agenda. If everybody keeps complaining about Sony and Microsoft holding games exclusive, why are they mad that Xbox is ending that and showing people multiplat is the way to go? I’ve also heard rumblings that Lego Horizon Adventures is coming to Xbox which is great because it shows that Sony is willing to come to the table and break down barriers as well. Lets hope we see more Sony games go to Xbox and vice versa.

It's greedy Microsoft at it again and we know the end goal, IF allowed. They're trying to brand a failure as a "success story," and playing innocent under the guise of "play our games anywhere!" It's the exact reason why they are deciding to charge to Windows 10 updates after October 2025, or even the state of Windows 11 with full screen ads pushing for paid OneDrive desktop backup. Can't forget the Xbox One pre-launch comments and how that was handled either.

Imagine a world where God of War came to Xbox a year or two after its ps release and Mario came to PlayStation a year or two after its switch release. If every game on every console was just a 1-3 year timed exclusive, there would still be an incentive to buy one console over the other or buy all three consoles, but at the same time, Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft would be able to sell their games to more people than ever before and make more money than ever before. Would be a win-win for console manufacturers and consumers. Only problem is it will be tough to get Sony and especially Nintendo to do that with all of their games.

The reason why Xbox should have good exclusives is for their brand marketing. Many will skip the next Xbox console if they perceive that it won't have exclusives. Xbox should start now on their branding for the future by making more games exclusive.

Due to the fact games like fortnite, roblox, pubg, apex legends, call of duty, madden, 2k. All still work on them. And those games if you add up all there plsyer counts is well over half all active gamers. So unless those games mske it to where you gotta upgrade ur console to play them. Millions and millions will stay on last gen. Same reason my son plays fortnite on an xbox on x still and u haven't had get him a ps5 or series x. I'm not complaining at all either soooo 😂😂😂

Yes, console purchases have gone down in 2024.. but before that, Playstation was breaking records & selling multiple millions each quarter, throughout all of 2020-2023. Honestly whoever is heavily invested into gaming just build yourself a PC however for casual gaming PlayStation will serve you great but it won’t come cheap and you won’t have many options buying games and the games will be expensive compared to pc. PlayStation is for people that just do a bit of gaming over the weekend on like movie like story games. Pc is where you can play everything and do your work if you’re invested in gaming do yourself a favor and build that machine.

Capcom needs to bring back LOST PLANET Exoprimal gives similar vibes but it's just not the same Lost Planet is one of my favourite franchises it's so GOOD and has so much potential and would fill the hole in Capcoms genres they more shooters. Xbox as in the console itself will surely die by the next generation or at the end of this one as if there's nothing exclusive to the platform what's the incentive to buy their console. The reason why console sales and exclusives matter. When you buy a console you get access to not only 1st party titles but also 2nd and 3rd party titles that develop for that console. Exclusives whether 1st, 2nd or 3rd help build the library of games only available to that console. Individual exclusives won't sell a console as people can either wait or resign themselves to missing out. However when you start hitting multiple titles exclusive to one console "missing out" becomes harder as too does constantly waiting for it to come to your choice of platform. The only way to avoid that "fomo" is if your console of choice have their own exclusives/titles to keep you entertained. This is where console sales matter. 1st party will never be enough on their own to keep players engaged. 3rd party are needed and if there isn't enough of a platform to warrant the time effort and money to develop for that platform why bother? We have already seen the fringes of this towards xbox by a couple of developers. Xbox play anywhere doesn't cover the whole library bought on the xbox or pc platform, only those within gamepass and again not all titles. One example from what I have seen is diablo 4. Space marine 2 not available as its 3rd party, elden ring not available.. .. Now do you see why console sales and exclusives matter?

No. Not really as play anywhere is rolling out to games that are not only on gamepass, but all games that you own. It's available to insiders at the moment with a curated list so far, but this is early and in testing.

I would love to see an XBOX OS for PC. We’d get better graphics and gameplay. I don’t know how I feel about along other companies to produce them yet. These aren’t GPUs. I think people here really are overestimating the value of exclusives being the console seller nowadays. We’re no longer in the XBOX/PS2, 360/PS3, or early PS4/XBONE era. Just take a look at the Spider-Man PS franchise as a whole here. Which right now is their best selling franchise. Across the two console generations of PS4/5 which are 117 and 61.7 million respectively. The series as a whole (counting the console bundles and Miles Morales Deluxe Edition which included the Spider Man PS5 remaster counting as two units sold) have sold more than 50 million. Sure, at first glance, great numbers for the numbers of consoles sold. Which it is. But then you remember, this is counting three games and a remaster. Comparing those individual game numbers to the number of consoles sold, and it’s not that much ratio wise. Spider Man 2018 (counting the remaster) have sold around 20-30 million units. Across the 117 and 61.7 million consoles sold for the PS4 and PS5. It all goes down numbers wise for their other franchises. The reason why they can still hold off porting them over to Xbox is cause the higher playerbase equals higher sales, the vast majority don’t care about exclusives and if you really wanna simplify it (this ain’t accurate duh) take that 30 million as people who do play every exclusive and compare it to the 117 millio PS4 users. It doesn’t even make up 30% of the userbase. While I still think Xbox should make their games timed exclusive like they did for Indiana Jones, I do believe Xbox knows where the industry is going, they just can’t force people to change with them. People have to change, slowly. Even if they screwed up royally with the Xbox One, they actually did predict and were right about how gamers would use their consoles and how digital libraries would be the future. They were just a few years too early.

I own a Series X and my daughter has a Series S. I have bought multiple Xbox consoles the last 3 generations either for myself or one for me and one for my wife/daughter.
