My elite 1 got horrible drift inside of 6 months, thanks to this channel I discovered and then purchased the thrust master, had it for around 6 months, and the only problems I have with it is software suite is bad feeling, the trigger locks only do full and half pulls and worst of all I routinely have to reload my presets onto my profiles, it’s pretty aggravating, but after all that noise it’s amazing. P.S. the rear button design could be better but I have normal American hands and I’ve become accustomed.

Hello Kevin, I got myself an elite series 2 core as well and when it comes to the shell, I think the reason it feels different is because they don’t want to do a soft silicon finish exactly the same as the standard elite. Reason being is because it’s a white controller and it probably would show up dirt differently. It still has a soft finish though as it feels different to the stock series x controller. It’s a shame that no paddles are included but I know some more casual people that want an elite controller for the feels and don’t use paddles or other accessories. Personally I really like the controller, I think it was a good idea for Microsoft to re-release it for a lower price point. I also intend to do a review on my own KZbin channel if you’re interested to hear my full thoughts. I’ve got 20 Xbox Controllers now so it might be time to seek counselling. Great review, keep up the great content.

This would make sense but even on the custom colors in the design lab they use the plastic cheaper shell and with a color it looks horrible. The white doesn't show how bad it looks truly. Mad props brother 🙏 Also a friend and I convinced one of our buddies to buy a Series 2 and he had drift out of the box, exchanged it at Best Buy, new one had drift too. Then he bought a $60 wired controller on Amazon that had paddles and whatnot and its apparently pretty good but he sounds like he's speaking into a megaphone that's low on battery when he's in party chat. I went through 3 brand-new Razer Wolverine Ultimates that came with off-center analog sticks. First one had left stick 10% south-of-center, second one had the right stick around 12% left-of-center, and the third controller FINALLY had "acceptable" ranges, with only about 3% south-of-center on the left stick, which I just accepted since the left stick isn't as important. People don't realize that if a stick is 10% left-of-center, for example, that means you have to move it 20% to the right to reach an equivalent position in the game. It also robs you of 10% from the maximum threshold too, though that's less important, it means one side will reach top acceleration before the other. Now this is my biggest worry when buying any new controller, that I have to immediately test it on Gamepad Tester just to see if the analog sticks are in neutral or center position. It's very frustrating.

It's that base fitting of the tension module. There is a slight movement giving the sticks a slight deadzone wobble where any ingame movement doesn't register. This wears overtime and the wobble becomes more noticeable, especially if you use the default loose tension. This confirms to me they haven't fixed or changed this to address this issue. So it's a hard NO for me. Thanks for the review.

@@marvin.710 Can't be 100% sure. But I'm assuming that's why some people have no issues with stick. They probably use the tighter tension, so it doenst become an issue.

Hey, good video! I have a suggestion for something you could cover with your controller reviews that I personally find very important when it comes to pro controllers: Whether or not the paddles are unique controls or can only map to the control buttons. For example, with the elite controllers they allow you to map them to any button on your PC using Rewasd, e.g. mapping them to a keyboard button or mouse click. However, with controllers such as the Razer Wolverine Ultimate, the paddles are limited to being mapped to the controller buttons. For console gaming, it's not a big deal but for PC gaming with the controllers, this is huge! Being able to map a paddle to push-to-talk for example, or some other random binding is soo helpful. Feel free to ignore this or not but figured I'd share! Thanks!!
@GamerHeavenOfficial2 жыл бұрын
Good suggestion, I can start including that in the paddles section 🙂

I wonder if newer Series 2 controllers also have the plastic change. It has been three years after all, and it doesn't make sense to have two different production lines for the same product besides coloring; which at this point they should just be sharing the same processes as the standard controllers for the coloring. It makes sense for the typical Series 2 to be sharing the same plastics, hell all of the controllers should be sharing the same plastics in all honesty, that's just how efficient manufacturing works, especially at the material source end of things. The 'Core' naming is also a bit odd. Core basic is the standard no-frills controller, Core Elite is the Elite with no accessories. Makes me think there might be an upcoming fourth slot, an upgraded basic controller, probably with built-in paddles or back buttons, based on the Core basic design. It'd make sense from a product lineup standpoint, basic controller, upgraded basic controller to compete with a lot of the third party market as even some of the more basic offerings have back buttons, an upgradable Core Elite that you can get a cheap third party accessory pack for, and the decked out Elite controller with all the first party accessories. The only thing that doesn't make sense is pricing, even if they shoot the gap between Core basic and Core Elite, the pricing seems off and the price brackets are way too tight, I think the only way it makes sense is drop the price of the Core basic to allow this fourth controller to exist within that basic-Elite gap of the Core controllers; plus this would make Microsoft more competitive in the controller market. I wouldn't be surprised if something like this does happen around the mid-gen timeframe, when they'd also be announcing the Series 3 controller, a normalization of back inputs outside of 'pro' controllers, which hopefully back input becomes baseline standard by next gen. This also makes me curious as to what Series 3 will actually offer. Fixing the drift issue via modules would probably put them into a situation similar to the vibration motor patent situation or the Valve/Scuff back paddle situation, if anyone here remembers that portion of controller history, considering Sony is going to hold the patent for a slide-in module and Thrustmaster holds the patent for a drop-in module, there's not much breathing room for Microsoft to have a modular design to fix the drift issue; which is why I believe their only realistic move is to go with a magnetic stick, whether that's making their own, buying GuliKit parts, or pushing ALPS to make a design with a temporary exclusivity agreement. Other than that, I don't really see what new things a Series 3 could offer, I don't think Microsoft is bold enough to change button switch types, or even do a spring box for the carbon contact switch like GuliKit is doing, they won't introduce anything like gyro controls considering Microsoft refuses to expand Xinput even though Xinput is now the API that has severely fallen behind, and there's not really much else they could do that isn't experimental or outlandish. As for the stick drift issue, I wonder when ALPS is going to get absolutely dragged for producing terrible components. I'm not sure who supplies Nintendo with their analog boxes, but we've seen what can happen to a company when issues go on like this for everyone. The fact that ALPS units degrade within _months_ of use now is absurd. The only way this gets fixed is either forcing ALPS to do better again, as they're the source of the issue and deserves to legally have their balls dragged through a field of glass, and/or ALPS needs replaced entirely, which hopefully GuliKit will do with their magnetic units; third parties are worse than ALPS as far as I understand, but ALPS' own quality fell off a cliff mid-gen last generation, if not even earlier; how was drift on the 360, because PS3 used inductor-based analog sticks up until the last couple models of the DS3, either super slim or post- super slim, either way it was after the PS4 launched and the PS3 was on its last breath.

My series 1 needs to be replaced and my Series 2 Halo LE arrived with a wobbly analog stick, a broken back button, and a busted paddle so was returned to MS Store since they refused to warranty an LE because it’s an LE 😒. Been waiting for an improvedSeries 2.

Whelp that's disappointing. Stick drift but I get paddles... wat do. Gulikit looks more promising.

I don't like Bluetooth for controllers in general. On everything I've used that isn't an actual game console, Bluetooth has had noticable input lag.

I saw your wall of controllers and thought this guy must know a thing or two about this controller I am interested in

the xbox dpad uses metal dome switches, not a rubber membrane. (love the vids btw lol)

Do you happen to know that if I bought an Xbox Elite Series 2 controller...yesterday (which I did for my son) is that included in the 1 year warranty that they came out with a while back or was it only retroactively applied to all of the previous controllers?

I think the series 2 joysticks are supposed to self-calibrate with use in order to prevent drift, unlike standard xbox controllers which are calibrated at the factory. I am guessing you were doing unusual movements during testing that threw off the auto-calibration, which is why updating it solved it. Although theoretically just using the controller normally, it should have eventually recalibrated itself.

Lol they don't self calibrate the sticks are awful 2 new core controllers in 2 days both with drift out the box

I wonder if the cheaper plastic and worse paddle switches are also used in Design Lab Elite controllers

Hey Gamer Heaven I really like your videos and they helped me alot but i still have a question (maybe some of you guys can help me out aswell), so i had an elite series 2 which i liked so much but the bumpers stopped actually working after 6 months, i tried some fixes but it just got worse so i bought a new one. 1 month into my second elite series 2 the same thing started happening on my right bumper and its so annoying. So which controller should i get? All i really need is 4 rear paddles, triggerstops ( not necessary ) and it should be compatible with series s, do you have a recommendation?

You can customize the color on the console. I have mine set to red

The first elite series 2 I got had bad stick drift in a month. I sent it in under warranty and the next controller has a right bumper not registering all the time and it started like a week after I got it. I'm about to send it back too.

Elite Series 2 or Scuff? Cant decide. I hear complaints on both sides.

You can customize the Xbox logo in the app on Xbox

Do the sticks feel like shit like they do on the original Series 2. The original series 2 has a horrible deadzone by default and feel out of sync at times compared to a default controller.

Quick question, the original elite 2, when I was press in the left stick and rotate it, it was grinding a lot, whereas the right stick is always smooth. Does this still have that issue?

Thoughts on what is the best pro controller to purchase for Xbox?
@r0nkh0815 Жыл бұрын
went through 12 elite series core controllers in two local stores and their QC is still absolute garbage. ALL of them had not reliable registering xyAB buttons. You need to press them in the middle and very hard to stay actuated.

You actually can customize the color on the Xbox now.

Your better Off buying a regular Xbox controller for $50 bc they actually last longer. Msft can build the surface pro but their "higher quality" they can't get right?

Can anyone explain how the original Xbox, and Xbox 360 generation controllers never had stick drift, but the One and Series do? Aren't they the same guts, or did they cheapen them? I never heard of or experienced stick drift, until Xbox One. Why is it so prevalent now, but a non-issue before?

Im on my 4th replacement. Went with the core and the p3 doesn't register until way after it clicks. I'm replacing it same day.
