I was a 360 fan boy. I completely disliked PS3. PS4 RELEASED I saw the specs bam and halo 4 got rid of a skill based ranked system which killed my hype for halo completely. Happy I've stuck with playstation since. Oh plus gears 4 multi-player maps sucked. Microsoft threw hard on some simple things.

I bought an XSX in January of 2022 on a whim because at the time I wanted to play Starfield (lifelong PS user but love Fallout and TES) and a DIY PC build was out of reach at the time. I enjoyed it for a few months, but once Starfield was delayed and the GPU market had settled, I sold that Xbox to help fund my pc build. I just didn’t see the upside of an Xbox vs PC. Anything I could play on Xbox I could play on PC, and then I could play various PC games that were not on consoles, and Gamepass for PC is less expensive. It was a win in all regards. With this weeks news meltdown, I am very happy with my decision.

They already have Game Pass on Xbox, mobile phones, PC, in cars, built into TV’s. They did their job there. Now they actually need games people want to play to subscribe to game pass, that they haven’t already played, haven’t already bought or plan to buy, and ……exclusives….good exclusives. In a few years you can buy all kinds of consoles. A Dell console, Asus console, Amazon console a Target branded console, a sony console, etc. etc. On these consoles you can download Gamepass, Playstation Plus, Steam, Epic and other storefronts. Physical games are gone. Competition will exist between the platforms. You are a die hard call of duty fan? Get it free on Gamepass and 70 bucks anywhere else. Want Spider-man? Get it free on Playstation Plus and 70 bucks anywhere else. Deals will differ between platforms. You can get all games everywhere but pricing will be different. This will be the future. Cheap consoles, expensive subscriptions.

Eh, Sony could "trojan horse" weak/too strong specs to make MS wrongly estimate what their new console specs should be. Just as wacky a theory. In truth, the fact that MS and Sony consoles are always essentially at the same level points to them straight up telling each other ahead of time what they are doing. Even if they don't communicate, the moves a corp does indicate their plans. It's why everyone talks about switch 2 constantly. People follow what Nintendo is buying. It's not exactly secret.

The thing is, you can get xbox game pass ultimate pretty cheaply and play new game on it. I play starfield, dead space remake and persona 3 remake, just to name a few. That would’ve cost me 200$ to play on playstation, but I can play for 10$ a months. Pretty good deal if you ask me.

Microsoft is usually the first to do something and it's frowned upon or no one cares because it's too early. Same with something like the hololens. Everybody said it was pointless and "way too expensive". But now everyone is excited about the Apple vision pro which is $3,500 it is about AR just like Hololens. And back then people didn't like features like snap on Xbox One because it was pushing TV too much. But now people can't watch a KZbin short or tik tok without some gameplay sitting at the bottom so they don't get bored. It's a repeating cycle 😭

The Xbox brand's direction has never returned to the heights of the Peter Moore era when they operated like a traditional console manufacturer. Since the Kinect became successful, Microsoft's leadership has done everything in their power to muddy the hardware strategy from a games console first to a content delivery platform.

Their plan is to be everywhere so they probably won’t need a console anymore. I’m not sure if this is the case anymore but when the ps5 and series first came out. They were selling at a loss and making a profit on software sales. If Microsoft can make that same profit on software without having to waste money on hardware… they’ll probably do it tbh. That being said it’ll probably be a couple if not a handful of console generations before that happens 🤔

I think Xbox sends out the games they got by acquiring Bethesda, as well as their little Indie games. And they really double down on the Software. And they use the increased Revenue to revamp and improve their core exclusives: Gears of War, Halo, Doom, etc

I like how people say they will just play on PC or on their phones. But I think the majority like to play on console because the ease of use and you can play it on a big screen. Not that many gamers have high end PCs. So those people will switch to Playstation. If Xbox is gone I see the new PS6 will not be a big leap in power compared to PS5 since Sony doesn’t have to compete with MS. They can make a cheaper version of the PS6 so they can make a profit then add the exclusives. Sony will just go that route until they have a competitor.

I really prefer console gaming. I always despised the set up that pc gaming seemed to require. I didn't have the highest end pc so the load times were pretty similar. But man every time you turn on a pc seeing steam, discord, skype, all update was just so tedious.

I don’t imagine they expect consumers to pay $700+ in those regions WITHOUT bundles or anything else. The people who will keep it going are those that feel like they’re getting a good and fair deal.

I think Phil is simply going to announce that Xbox and its users can expect a year (+) of exclusivity for first party titles going forward. Then these titles will be released to other platforms in an effort to make more money. I think they will continue making hardware. I don't believe it is any more complicated than that.

MS can make no new console and make the game pass it´s exclusive on all platforms. but it seems they still differentiate between the real microsoft games and their acquired studios. so halo, gears, forza/horizon, fable, flight simulator are the real exclusives. hellblade, all activision and bethesda games are just good for creating additional content. I also expect OD getting to playstation at some point

I can see Xbox’s fan’s perspective if Xbox is putting games on other platforms and those other platforms are offering more plus those Xbox games then there’s no reason to buy one and if the consoles sales dip even worse what’s stopping them from making consoles and players losing all of their digital games and micro transactions they’ve used on games and to make matters worse those players also lose the ability to play a lot of backwards compatible games. It makes Xboxs future uncertain and nobody wants to buy into a uncertain future when you can buy into another option that seems to be having a more promising future.

If you can understand the emotion then understand this, people won't trust their brand in the future if they go a certain route of not having anything exclusive people will avoid their future platforms and not buy into them. The players currently supporting their ecosystem will go elsewhere with ecosystems that will move forward with them in hardware. They won't have a reason to make hardware in the future if this is how they handle a situation involving their current tech.

I'm fine if they do put their games on other platforms. Such as halo more halo fans? I'm down! But my worry is simply if they do end up focusing on games only. Then what will the Xbox console division look like? What I mean by that is updates to the bugs, performance on the menu, and such. That's my only worry. But the Xbox series X is the last Xbox console I buy. I love the device. But moving a lot of my gaming to PC and switch now since playstation is slowly doing PC releases. And for the switch, well, Nintendo IPs enough said.

Actually, MS' master plan was to get their games on other consoles, but via of GamePass. They more or less told Sony if they wanted Beth, they had to bend the knee. Seems what changed is that GamePass wasn't the golden goose if these rumors are true. It will be interesting to see if a platform holder can be third-party to rival consoles and not lose mindshare.

I just hope they still make XBox, cause features like backward compatibility on PS5 for PS4 would not exist if XBox don't have it as a cor feature. I am totally fine to bring games to as much players as possible and I hope Sony would open up like this - cause I can't get the paradox they want make as inclusive as possible games but release them exclusive on a console - meaning make the most excluding move possible... It would be nice to see XBOX GAME PASS come to PS5 and other consoles. They could make new games "EXCLUSIVE TO XBOX GAME PASS" and that would drum up interest in the subscription plan. This could result in XBOX becoming the "Netflix" of gaming with all their chips on the subscription end.

Not really if you have even the faintest idea on why these companies manufacture consoles. If PS gets PS games+ Xbox games and the Xbox gets only Xbox games nobody will buy an Xbox because it would be a bad investment, causing the console to go in further decline and halt manufacturing. If they do that they should get out entirely. Don't like being outsold 2 to 1? Try 10 to 1 if you do this. If your games can be bought on rival consoles but they keep theirs to themselves there is zero reason to pick you. The Don Mattrick years did enormous damage to the brand and it's going to take a while to come back from it but looks like they are intending to give up fast. 2 to 1 is still around 50 million consoles sold and that ain't bad. If xbox is gonna have no exclusives. Their next console, if they have one, needs to be hundreds less than PS if it has no exclusives. There's no value if PS costs the same, has all xbox games, ps games and 3rd party games. And of course there console sales suffer. They release there games day 1 on PC. PS doesn't. Every PC gamer I know has a PS. None have an Xbox.

I think xbox will do 1yr of there own games on there own console/ gamepass before porting over to others. I mean they dont want to sell games they want to sell gamepass. Streaming is the future and there already ahead. You can already see in the future there wont be any consoles just subscriptions with the all games being able to be played on tvs phones etc and it will adapt graphically for what ever device you choose to play on. Means more money, bigger customer reach, more control for the company. Im a console guy, mainly a playstation fan boy but i have an xbox aswell now. I wish consoles would carry on for ever but i just cant see it happening.

Redfall was a incomplete game that still has potential. I am not cape- ing for Redfall but it wasnt as bad as everybody says. It was just broken. They have fixed the AI in the game. If the add a new Free DLC with new characters including playable vampire/ demons characters. Add a rogue like mode along with 4 on 4 arena mode, they could ressurect that game.

The thing is, if there were no truth to these rumors Xbox/Microsoft would have debunked the rumors already, because these out of control rumors are damaging their brand. So there has to be some truth to all of this. They can't just let rumors run rampant like this. The lesson here for the Xbox fanboys is, never attach your identity to a corporation, or their piece of plastic. And don't think for a second to the Sony ponies out there laughing this up, that if the shoe was on the other foot, Sony wouldn't have done the same either. I honestly never understood Xbox fanboyism probably because I'm euro but also Xbox feels like a cheaper PC . I never got the overblown obsession with it as an identity when PC basically has all these games day one and the Games aren't even like in house made first party like in the case with Nintendo titles, the first party games are just games from big famous studios they bought just a few years hence why the games are all over the place when it comes to direction and quality control. At least with Nintendo and PlayStation i can understand being a hardcore fan because Nintendo have their own in house made franchises that changed the gaming industry like Mario, Zelda and Pokemon and PlayStation has the high graphics cinematic look Story grounded single player experiences like tlou , uncharted, God of war, Spiderman etc... besides being the main platform of choice for square enix. Xbox used to have Halo ig but it's dead.
