Xbox One Elite Console and Controller: Unboxing & Review

The braided cable is much more than you think it is. The elite controller is the only Microsoft controller to actually allow the data to pass through it when plugged in. Meaning, no button press lag. These days nobody seems to worry to much about it, as button press lag is pretty much unnoticed on wireless controllers. However, many competitive gamers wouldn't use a wireless controller over a wired controller if given the choice. This controller allows you to actually pass the data through the cable and not even have to think about the issue at all. Lets face it, if you are at a tournament, why wouldn't you plug in instead of going wireless. Other Xbox controllers, even when plugged in, still transmit the data wirelessly and the plug in just charges the batteries.

It does make sense to bundle it with a cable since this is a controller for gamers who care about precision/ the fastest inputs. The cable makes it wired to the console and makes a very noticeable difference to the input lag.

I bought an Xbox One Elite just yesterday. I had no problems, I'm 13 years old and I have fun with this console and its games. The format is awesome and the Elite controller is a total BEAST!

I got the elite bundle when black ops 3 came out. GameStop had a deal that if you got a 1TB console, you got a free game and another free controller ( normal xbox1 controller). Decent deal to me. I'm happy with the controller. Works really well!

I just got the Xbox Elite just yesterday for my birthday and I love it so far. I still had the Xbox 360 before so this is a BIG upgrade for me. I want to explore more on how it works and want I can do to get the full experience of it.

Just bought a 1tb Xbox one last week but opted out of this bundle wimpy because I'm not good at shooters anyway, love them but I'm mediocre online so an elite controllers one help me lol. Now I do like how it's slightly quicker internally but again, the time doesn't bother me as much as the storage size. Good video!

I just picked up the Xbox One ELITE (yesterday) with Elite controller that is absolutely SICK. It is, by far, the best controller I have ever used and I have been gaming for > 20 years. Set-up was seamless. Sony pales in comparison to Microsoft both in quality and customer service. (I'm speaking of gaming consoles only). Last weekend (12/5/15), not a single store had the XBOE in stock. This weekend, you can pick one up just about anywhere. I checked Best Buy for availability and they said it was in stock and available for pick-up. When I went in the store, the blue shirt said he didn't have any in stock. When I told him that his website said otherwise, he decided to check his computer. Low and behold, one in stock. He had to go to the stock room to get it. Part of me is thinking that one of the employees set it aside for himself, waiting for payday or something. So if I took your console dude, I'm sorry. Okay, I'm glad I waited to get the Xbox One. When it first came out in 2013, I still had a ton of games I was playing. With the lack of backwards compatibility at the time, I thought it would be a complete waste of money. The main reason I am glad I waited, is because I now have the 1TB solid-state hard drive which was not available in 2013. I would have been SICK, having to buy a 2nd Xbox One, just for the new bigger and better hard drive. (And I know I would have bought another one because that's just how I am). Now I have the original Xbox, (all of the Nintendo consoles also), Xbox 360, and Xbox One Elite. The 360 will not go to waste as i have it set up in another room. The Elite is in my home theater, where it will stay. I intend on upgrading my PC to Windows 10, so that I can stream Xbox content to my desktop. As far as your review, good job and thank you! I'm going to tweak my controller now and PLAY PLAY PLAY for the rest of the day. Back to work tomorrow. :( Have fun guys!

Plugging in the controller with the usb means you don't need batteries. Also there's no input lag if you are plugged in due to data flowing through the cable and not wirelessly. Competitive players will always wore their controllers.

+Kreutz Yes. Wired conrollers help cut down on the delay or latency you will get when using the controller wireless. You will notice a huge difference in your accuracy when switching from wireless to wired. If you are also looking to make some small tweeks, try turning off the vibration on the controller. It will help also!

why is the down side battery in controller to remove ? there is 30% of PS4 controllers already on services to fix battery for new one. If you have money for xbox one , then you have money for 4 rechargeable batterys for controller. its better that you can change battery by your self then send your controller for 2 weeks waiting to fix your controller.
