People don't seem to realize this is a more costly option for people that want a Scuf controller but don't want to pay $200-$300 (depending on how you customize it). It's true it's gonna seem costly to people that are fine with just standard controllers. I'm one of those people as well. There are others out there that want to add more to their experience and that's what this is for.

QuickTim3 It's a fair point, though I think PC players use KB/M for FPS. I'm primarily a PC player and hateeeee using controllers for shooting. Now I'd love a controller that makes that experience more tolerable, but (in my opinion) if I'm already on the PC I'd never use a controller to shoot and I feel like these advantages on the controller are mostly geared toward FPSes.

PC & PS4 user here, just the aesthetics of this controller is enough, top notch presentation and it looks solidly built as well. I will consider one for my PC gaming for sure, just not enough to make me go from PS4 to Xbox just yet. I have to say though, Xbox/ Microsoft are slowly wearing me down after the whole 'secondhandgamesgate' before its release. Really nice product Microsoft :)

It seems that not very many people know about this, so I thought I should tell you. It seems that everyone is disappointed that the Xbox One Elite controller does not have a rechargeable battery, but the reason for this is, you can take the battery(s) out of your controller and plug in the usb cable. This effectively disables the wireless functionality of the controller, removing any input lag that occurs with all wireless controllers making it better for competitive play.

Since I'm more of a pc gamer, I went with a steam controller for $50. It also has customisable controls and paddle controls plus mode shifting which allows multiple commands to be assigned to one bumper or button.

Why would you want an internal rechargeable battery when you can go to almost any store and get 4 rechargeable energizer battery's with a charger for $20 and never have to buy battery's again. Once the first two run out, you just switch them with the other two that have been charging and so on. Saves time and money.

Jack Jack they're used to remap the face buttons. i.e. taking A, B, X, Y and putting them on the paddles so that you don't have to take your right thumb off the stick

True, like I use a thing called a "strike pack" that adds 2 paddles where the battery pack is, I miss wireless, but getting new batteries is not terrible, considering the battery life for the Xbox one controllers is pretty long.

The price is justified because gaming is simply a hobby like anything else. Just how a musician plays instruments or an artist paints, draws, etc. When people get started in a hobby, they tend to buy something a little cheaper to help them get started. For example a guitarist buying a beginner's guitar and over the course of time through practice, they get better and better and are wanting to move onto a guitar that sounds and plays better. Naturally these kinds of guitars are much more expensive. Same exact thing with gamers wanting to get something nicer and that will last much longer. I can see why people don't agree with the price and that's fine. Truth is, you just aren't as invested in gaming as some other people.

I just ordered mine online yesterday from Gamestop and it should be here very soon. I traded in like 3 controllers and other stuff so I didn't pay a cent towards the controller. My original plan was to trade in enough things to total up at least like $70 so then I'd only really be paying for the controller. Because the controller itself is usually $64 and the software and extra stuff is what costs $150. I think it's well worth it. I ALWAYS had the problem in Destiny when I'm double jumping and aiming at the same time, but I can't turn directions and also shoot at the same time. That was always the death of me in crucible when I couldn't react fast enough.

This happened to me as well today my RB broke its a very small piece of plastic that snaps off. If you play hours of gaming please don't buy this controller. Microsoft does not care, Nor will they fix it. I was on the phone with them for three hours to try to get this fixed I was told by support and a manager to use super glue to fix it. Like wtf super glue. Sorry sir it's passed the 90 days we can't help you. I was told to just go buy another one if I wanted another elite controller. No thank you I already gave you $ 150 once will never buy this product again. Don't buy

I watched A LOT of reviews for this controller but almost NO ONE talked about the PC aspect of it. I mean, they talked about the quality, the swapable elements, the configuration app on xbox, etc... That's great. BUT ! On XboxOne, paddles can be used just too "map" ALREADY EXESTING commands to them. For PC gamers it's FAR BETTER ! Why ? Because paddles can be used as independant buttons that can be used for NEW commands ! It add 4 new buttons to map command to them ! AND I THINK IT'S GREAT ! Why did you not talk about it ? It can seem like it's not a big deal but 4 new buttons is great for some PC games ! Because controllers are sometime not enought to cover all the commands in a game and if we play with controller, in some games, we must use BOTH controller and Keyboard in order to execute all the commands. Now we have 4 new buttons : p1, p2, p3 & p4 that can be used for keyboard commands OR EVEN MACROS ! Sorry for the long text, and sorry for my english I'm french :)

I love the elite controller. Had mine about 2 months then the RB bumper broke on me. I thought this controller would last a while. Its on its way to Texas to get fixed.

I love the extra paddle triggers, but $150 for a controller is way too steep. I'm a casual gamer and it's just not worth it.

Can you reply if you know if the new jack on the bottom of the new xbox one controllers works with chat and game volume. So I don't have to buy the xbox one headset adapter for my headset. (There the HyperX Cloud 2)

I had a scuf for the 360. I'm now on the one and I just re configured my brain to play claw for shooters so I don't have to buy another custom paddle controller like this one. I would recommend this if you're trying to save some cash haha

I'll be coming over from 15 years of the same playstation controller so I'll be getting this because hairpin triggers for shooters and full length of pull for racing.

+IGN nothing about the infrared (IR) sensor who missing from this "Elite". How a feature from the original controller could be remove from a version like that, IR sensor are need to low power state that conserves your battery and for enables Kinect to associate the controller with whoever is holding it.
