Idiot. It's the software on the console, sometimes hardware. Your TV would have nothing to do with unless no other connections worked on the tv, then it the panel is shot and tv needs to be replaced.

The whole system should be hdr10 not just the games and app.when I was watching Netflixs it kept changing from hdr to black screen from time to time.its when it switch from one to the other. I was watching Netflixs when it when black. so I turned off my hdr10 on my system and keep on the hdr tv my monitor now.i dont know if it's the xbox one x or my monitor killed it. Make sure your monitor is hdr10 only not just hdr.

Amber Matamoros sorry... I’ve not got any other tips than what’s in the video.... other than that, it’s sometimes just a case of waiting for a patch or for Microsoft to fix something at their end. You might just have to turn it off and go do something else for the day/night.

Check your hdmi ports some Xbox’s auto shut off when no HDMI is detected plug in HDMI to HDMI in when pressing power button then switch when your control is able to connect

Guess it’s gonna be a case of looking on the Microsoft support page for a similar issue... or just try disconnecting the Xbox for 3 minutes at least. Totally unplug it, no disc in the Xbox and try rebooting it.

My xbox one has done this to me 2 times past 2 days. To fix I would hard shutdown holding button for 10sec unplugging power from back of xbox for couple minutes then restarting and it fixed it both times. Nice video OP. I will also add my 24hz was NOT checked. So I’m not sure why I’m getting the black screen of death. Reminds me of the old days with the red rings ! 🤣👍🏻

I just encountered this problem again. My game, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey froze on me last night and the console wouldn’t fully turn on or something. By meaning; my console would turn on, but not fully load and make the slight beep as if it was turning off at the moment. Then it would just sit there frozen in that pseudo-on state or whatever. I tried to do what you suggested, the ten second button method and plugged it directly into my wall outlet as well, that fixed it. Apparently Xbox Live TV, Music and Video streaming are having issues. Also there’s an update I’m downloading and installing right now, to be on the safe side (since in my humble experience the updates only help and not hinder my console). It was odd, but this did happen to me a little while ago back in January as well, because this particular issue was system-wide. And now just last-night and today, again. Just happened to me. I did everything and nothing has worked so what I ended up doing was following your steps until I got to the start up screen. Looked at your screen and selected Restart Xbox keeping all information and Spammed A (Cuz I still cant see since no signal) Xbox made another beep and now my TV is Constantly getting a Signal but drops. Have you tried a hard reset... pull all cables out of the back of the console for 3 minutes. 5 minutes to be sure then try to restart the console. Also try using a different HDMI cable.

I already fixed it with some guy that fixed Consoles. Microsoft was gonna charge me $250, and I got it fixed for $50. Apparently it was a problem with the hard drive. Good luck

I have the Xbox one s....What I noticed that might have caused it was that I had two external hard drive plugged into it I recently got the second one, but the same day that I got it that's when the Xbox froze on me and I tried to turn it off but it wouldn't shut off, so I disconnected everything and left off for about 5 min.. so I plugg everything back in and turn it on so I believe it suffered from the green screen of death because the loading screen wouldn't come of at all It stayed green for 8 min untill I unplugged everything and left it off for 5 min and that's when I turn it on and it loaded up but the screen was all black.... but the Xbox was alright and this was the first time that something like that has happened to me with the Xbox...but like I said I had both external hard drives plugged in because I was trying to transfer my games to the new hard drive I got that day... same thing happened to me yesterday every thing turned black...and when it finally loaded up it gave me a message saying that the signal of the hard drive is weak and that it can't be used. But I still had the two external hard drives on so I turn it off and I left one plugged in witch was the new one that I left plugged in and so far every thing is working but there's one thing the Xbox for some reason it stopped making that noise that it makes when your scrolling down or moving to the next page...... well that's what I experienced that might have caused it....

Hi all! There's a problem with xbox one x. I have a 4k monitor, but in games the picture is a bit soapy and the font in the menu shows pixels. Tried to change the hdimi cable and rented the xbox for repairs under warranty, but to no avail. What should we do?

Make sure you've selected 4k gaming in the display settings... I guess that's a no brainer if you haven't done it already

Long time after this video, but I recently had a problem where my screen was black but I could not click anything or use home buttons. My xbox was dead. I believe the problem was also the sign in part. I noticed that my issue was caused by a network error rather than the xbox itself. I think the xbox runs into an error while trying to retrieve online information and ends up showing a black screen. Thats just my guess because when I unplugged my ethernet cable the issue was fixed when I restarted my xbox. No idea how many people will run into the same problem I did but hopefully this will help.

Mine did the same thing. Internet connection error at first, then when I did the hard reset and it just stayed black after the Xbox logo. Might try these steps.

Are you using an external hard drive or the internal one? Check where you have designated to store your games and apps. Not sure that’s gonna be useful but I haven’t encountered any issues with storing data.

Try using another hdmi then you can see if that’s the issue but hdmi’s don’t have a habit of braking
