Xbox series X no sound in captures fix

Hey everyone these options have changed after firmware updates. If you are still having issues of no sound in your captures, please see the below link video, I’ve been using that method and always have audio in my captures. Hope this resolves your issue as well, thanks.

Hi, I don't see "Using HDMI audio headset" as an option on Series S. Any idea? Edit: Btw, my Series S records XB360 and XBOne games sound just fine. It doesn't capture sounds for Gen9 optimized games.

Hey the options have changed after system update. The audio issue should be fixed now. I haven’t had no issues with my captured since the update but I did have the option checked before updating. One thing I can recommend is setup the hdmi settings manually instead of the system auto set feature, you’ll have to set the frame rate and resolution manually for the screen you are using.

​@@TheLuckyJuan Hey! This is a long process but worth giving a try. It has worked for me. After having followed steps 1 - 4 as mentioned above: 5. Don't jump into Series X/S optimized game whichever it may be. 6. Instead, play an Xbox 360/One game. Record gameplay there first. 7. Check if the captured clip has proper sound. If so, only then play X/S optimized game and record the gameplay. Oftentimes checking the option of "Allow audio to pass through" in Audio Settings helps as well. Lastly, you can also try the so-called Hard Reboot. That helped me in FH5 captures.

To ALL , i believe they took that option off now- HMDI AUDIO HEADSET. cuz i no longer see it. But anyways this video doesn't fix the audio of the voices from our clips. Thats something XBOX HAS TO ADD ON IT LIKE PS PLATFORM DOES.

Hey bro, these options are no longer available. What’s working for me is setting the HDMI settings manually. It’s done through video fidelity options, instead of auto use hdmi then set the resolution and frame rate manually. Since I’ve done this all my captures have sound. Only downside is, if you change the screen and the new screen doesn’t support those resolutions or frame rate, you won’t get a display, so will need to reset them by holding the power and (eject on X, bind on S) to turn on and set them again. Hope this helps.

Just got my Xbox series s a few days ago, My clips audio was out of sync and now it has no audio at all, really annoying as I hit clips on people daily😂 and I can’t even hear the audio now so hope the problem gets fixed soon

Hey u fortunately I haven’t been able to do that, on the flip side PS5 records all chat in the recording and has no way to not include it, unless muted from game. So both consoles are very different in doing the recordings

Hey man, the settings have changed a lot in recent updates. If you are still having issues of no sound in your captures, then only solution I can think of would be to set the HDMI output manually for resolution and frame rate. That would be in the settings under the video fidelity option, instead of auto recommended chose HDMI then you’ll have the option to select resolution and frame rate. There is a video on my channel “xbox 120 fps fox” it shows how to set it up. I’ve had it setup like this and never have any audio missing in my captures. Hope this helps.

Yeah i fixed it in uhh tv and display options with unlocked the HDMI audio and i turn headset format off and i FINALLY after like 2 weeks have sound

Hey in my experience sometimes different controllers can give different sound. Wired and wireless can also make a difference. Is it a standard controller you are plugging the headset in?

Hey I’ve tried all the settings and can’t get the chat audio in captures, on PS5 it’s total Opposite all the chat audio is recorded in the capture, the only way ti disable it to mute everyone. The way audio is being handled on Xbox and PS5 seems to be very different. Xbox is keeping chat audio separate and giving options like Mic monitoring,PS5 seems to be adding the game chat in the normal audio, only party chat is separate.

Thing is for me, my audio will go out of sync or just have no audio only after I delete a bunch of clips, then a few days later they will randomly fix themselves, I just deleted 72 clips and now anything I record has no audio

Hey man I have a video on my channel for setting the 120hz manually. I think cause I have the settings done manually for my hdmi, it’s the reason I have no audio missing. Hey the settings have changed, if you are still having issues with no sound in game capture, try and set the HDMI settings manually. You can find them in video and fidelity, the option will be auto, change it to HDMI then set the resolution and frame rate manually. I've done this and all my captures have sound, also someone else commented that they have done the same and works for them.

I've done everything and still got no sound on my captures. Even tried setting the resolution to 720 as someone said that helps. Did a complete reset holding the button for 10 secs and unplugging etc and still theres no sound. Hopefully there's some sort of patch for this cause it's really annoying

Hey bro try and setting the display manually, in the display options set the hdmi mode, resolution and the frame rate yourself. I’ve done this and all my captures has sound.

@@JunkeeVegeta only other thing I can think of is I’m using a Dolby app for game positioning sound enhancement. The app lets you control where the enhancements are applied to, for me it’s the headset plugged into the controller directly.

So in video and fidelity option, choose HDMi manually, then select the relevant resolution and frame rate. Mine been set like this and I never have issues with audio missing from recordings, hope this helps.
