Try switching to another hdmi input on your TV like a roku or something that the sound always works. Then switch back your xbox input. Fixed my problem

My xbox was stuck on the green screen for 15 minutes last night...was forced to try and reset the console and keep apps to try and boot it. This worked, but I lost my sound...I was convinced it was fried. Never thought to check the over scan settings....found the culprit thanks to this video...the override was set to DVI during reset... Switched it to hdmi...and then back to 1080p. Sound works! You've cured my migraine. Thanks again man. Liking and subbing rn.

Hold xbox button down for 5-10 seconds it will restard your xbox. Worked for me. If that doesnt work, make sure you are using fully charged batteries. RECHARGEABLE give me a hard time with audio.

Got to give you your props! It's December 2021 and my daughter just uploaded the new Season 1 Chapter 3 and she wasn't hearing any sounds. I found your video and went all the way to the end. We did all of your suggestions. Updating the controller helped with the sounds outside of Fortnite, but not the game itself. The last solution is what did it for us. The scanning to the HDM1 setting and resetting the resolution to 1080 brought all of the sounds back! Thank you so much for this video! TO ANYONE THAT STILL CANT GET IT TO WORK. Idk if u figured it out. I used all these options and watched other videos. Finally found one that said “also reboot your Xbox as last choice” it worked for me lol. It was so simple and I didn’t think of it. Go to your Xbox and hold the power button for 10 sec. It should fully shut off. Wait like 2 minutes and turn it on. Don’t worry it’s not a way to delete all of your memory. It’s just like a deep shut off. Just make sure your controller is updated and mic switch is on in your Xbox settings.

I cannot believe that for over a year I had my controller permanently plugged into a pc speaker via headset jack. I've gone through to many aux cables and about 4 Xbox controllers due to the jack loosening from constant use. Let me tell you a story on what happened to me: It was a nice day and I decided to hop on my Xbox and play some modern warfare. i was doing pretty good for the past few games. But then this one game my audio just went off and I couldn’t hear anything. So I tried unplugging it and plugging it back in. That didn’t work so i got another controller to see if it would work but it didn’t work. I had no idea what to do so I looked up how to fix it and I found this video. I did every single thing but nothing worked I was very mad. Then I tried something that I should have done in the first place,it was so obvious and I didn’t even notice. I TURNED DOWN MY MIC VOLUME😅😅🥲

The auto detect worked for me but shortly after it stopped working again, but only the headset. I went back through the list and none of them helped. Edit: I turned Windows Sonic for Headphones back on and checked the box under it, it works now :) Edit: it stopped working again 😅

I’m having the issue on the series x where certain clips don’t record with sound. The clip still records and you can play it there’s just no sound. It only does this like 1 out of 5 times. 75% of the time they record with sound but sometimes they don’t and there’s no logical explanation because I’m using the exact same settings and playing the same games and recording the clip the exact same way. My buddy hit this problem with his system and we tried all the solutions shown in this video plus checking how clean the tv and xbox ports and the hdmi cable were. We then tried an entirely different hdmi cable and still nothing. We were using the system completely fine last night then suddenly just no audio at all today. Anyone know of any work arounds?
