I’m having the same problem. I tried connecting my HDD to my laptop just to look at the settings and make sure they were right and they were and once I plugged it back into my it worked for one game then it stopped working. So I have no idea what the problem is :/

There is an issue with the app for some users with 4K resolution with this update. Try setting your Xbox's system resolution to 1080p and see if that works...for now

for anyone like me who couldnt get any cover art there may be a file called Cache on your hard drive, delete this file and make a new folder called Cache then inside that folder make another folder called GameCovers and that should fix it.

FYI, the IPL thing actually works now as of the 1.1.5.2 update. I tested it with Mario Sunshine yesterday and the gamecube boot-up screen came on and the game was loaded afterwards, and I played it for a good while, and no crashes.

hey man great videos. I've been using dolphin on my series s for a while now with no issues, but recently I've been getting constant crashes when selecting a game. I'm not sure what the issue is or why it happened all of a sudden. I've tried disabling/enabling various settings randomly but nothing helps. Do you have any suggestions? If not, is there somewhere I can look to get help?

Everything else is perfect . The video the instructions. In the next new update what they should add I highly recommend, is change of type controller configuration just like they have in retroarch . That’s playable fully in WII games particularly . That’s the only issue with this because some games we are unable to play have to go back and forth to the PC to change and modify and the controllers input for each game which can be Exhausting. Please Add New controller configuration in settings for new update . I.e .. Classic Controller , WII Remote , Nunchuk Classic Controller and more .

Hey man. Everytime i click “exit game” it brings me back to the development mode screen on my xbox and when i try to relaunch dolphin, it just freezes on the dolphin logo. Any thoughts on this? Im using version 1.14 now

I had updated last night. I had dolphin before but had only done all the steps but my x controller registered as a standard so never played dolphin. My controller still can't work with the Dolphin Emulator here. I tried launching any GameCube game, but with no luck. I only got the emulator to play F-Zero GX and Kirby Air Ride as RetroArch doesn't display the race courses of these games correctly.

I've heard that it's a bug with some homebrew apps if the resolution is set high. If you set the Xbox output resolution to 1920x1080 it might boot.

The same thing happened to me. On one TV it worked and on the other TV it would crash. To fix the issue, go to your Xbox settings, go to display and make sure your resolution is set to 1080p. Mine was set to 720p and once I changed it, Dolphin booted fine. Cheers.

I'm not sure what I do wrong, but my games just doesn't show up i Dolphin. - I do have an external harddrive attached - It is registered as Media - I have added the paths to both my GameCube and Wii folders, which contains the games - Tried both having the games in the root of the respective folders, and having them in individual folders for each game - neither work - The Wii games are WBFS format, GameCube games ISO format. and both works perfectly in Dolphin on my PC. - The harddrive is functioning, Dreamcast GDI files works fine in FlyCast on the Xbox I honestly got no clue what I do wrong :(

Followed this guide and everything works and loads up. However I've noticed in some games like Super Mario Sunshine the fps drops and rises alot. Like it'll reach 60fps for a few seconds, then dip down to like 5fps and back up to 60fps for a few seconds and rinse and repeat. Has anyone come across this issue and have a solution for this? Also, I can't scan or lock on in metroid prime, just kinda focuses but no lock on or scan.

Yea so with Twilight Princess with the Hyrule Speed hack, make sure you do not set it to 4k or it will stutter and freeze a lot. I found out because it was still freezing badly and changed from 4k to 1080p.

To update for Dev mode: If you run from USB you just uninstall the old version and install the new and redirect the directories to USB.

Sadly still problems with the emulator. Have to set the max output resolution of the series s to 1080P otherwise no shaders will compile when loading up any game.... hope it gets a fix soon. Otherwise it is fantastic.

Walked through the tutorial but my games were not showing up in Dolphin. Went back and watched the video and realized in the section he lists all the file types that work for Dolphin, he didn't mention .7z files, and thats what all my rom files were. So i downloaded 7 zip, unzipped them and it worked!

Fantastic tutorial have followed your retro arch and duckstation ones aswell , really great work, i find this one a bit odd though in the games i've tried granted i've only tried 4 WWE Day of Reckoning , Simpsons Hit and Run, Blood Omen 2 and Legends of Wrestling and there is quite a bit of lag on them , controls , graphics everything else is great and running off a usb any mistep I could have made or is this just current issues

Everything works fine, except my controls. I copied my data over to Dolphin on PC, and modified the controls to my liking. After transferring the data back to my USB, the modifications to the controls don’t seem to be applied. I’ve been trying to configure my controller for Super Mario Galaxy, but nothing seems to work. Ipl gamecube logo works take the newest nightly build from dolphin not the beta version. Everything works great now. Some games arent crashing anymore

Everything went A OK except setting up the xbox controls in PC . Now controls in game don't work . Followed instructions to a T. Plugged it in the PC. Coppied it back . Set to read only . Idk Update: Figured it out. I had a profile saved in the control settings. Deleted the folder . Appeared to be conflicting a main setting somehow.

Incredible, detailed video. This is the first time I've come up against an issue in gaming I can't seem to resolve - with the latest Dolphin RT release on Series X I can't get my custom Wii Mote configurations working at all. Even tried the download able configs, editing the ini files, set up game settings directing dolphin to use the config and everything but to no avai. It even refuses to acknowledge my Mario Galaxy configs and reverts to the Xbox Dolphin default with no shake everytime. Can you upload and link a copy of the Dolphin file system you have on your Xbox so I can test it out and see if that works? Thankyou.

I have the same problem as many others where when you load up Dolphin and set your game directory paths, they don't save and you have to select your game paths every time you launch the app. I have my external hard drive set to NTFS and have the necessary permissions so I don't know what the issue is here. Also when I hit reset path settings, the game list loads, and it's still there after I quit the app and launch it again

@@kalebbardwell2476 I seem to have fixed the problem. What you need to do is create a new folder on your USB drive and assign it as the main user path folder. When you do that the user folder contents should populate that folder. Then on your PC Dolphin copy the user folder from it to the user folder on your USB drive, replace everything in it. Then on your Dolphin Xbox app, you set the path for the folder that your games are in. Then the playlist should show up. When I did that and exited, the playlist saved, as did my settings.

You experiment with it till you find the right balance of removing audio stutter to FPS on the demanding games.

Going up makes it more demanding so on a game that already can't run full speed it will further drive it into unplayable. On games like NFS underground you can increase it to get locked 60 FPS instead of dips down to 45.

Now RE2 says it can’t find the save folder to write to so I’m unable to save my game 🤦‍♂️ Also 4:3 resolution is no longer 4:3, The visuals are squeezed (circles become ovals…etc) in the apps ‘auto’ or ‘force 4:3’ mode, I can make my TV 4:3 and it’s noticeably wider than the app’s ‘4:3’.

Thank you for your work! Very much appreciated. I’m having an issue with the in-game menu, it doesn’t seem to change any settings. Same with the menu on the dolphin game library screen. Any suggestions?

Honestly I think it is still better to just use the PC version to do configuration since you still have to use it to do controls

Great content as always my man! But i do have a question in regards to save and load states. Is it possible to activate it in this version of dolphin? And if so can i set up hotkeys? I attempted to set it up on PC version but the hotkey controllers didnt copy over to console.
