​@@ArchadesGames are you aware of a database of save states for retroarch for xbox one/series X that we could download and then load on our RetroArch? as long as the core and ROM match it should be possible. I was using save states and saves directories in my USB SSD, but apparently not, my swanstation save states for Tomb Raider II are not there, and i lost my progress (I was on level 17).

Not something I'm aware of. I'm sure Google can help you out in finding a save.

i have never gotten n64 to work on my series x and i did exactly as you, it just says failed to load and goes right back to the main screen of retroarch

Aaaand... it wont work! Anyone got a idea? I allready done GB, DC, Saturn, PS1, GameCube and so on. On the internal SSD of my Series S. All runs fine. Even the PS1 games in 16:9 and 4K upscale. But on N64, no matter wich region. Pal, Ntsc, jpntsc... Not a single game start. And i done step by step as here shown. It starts the game abd the Error Popup says: Loading Failed. I doesent even try to load. Its a instant Fail. Thx

thank you for all your help. I was having some problems with my whole config loading but nothing some troubleshooting can fix! I wanted to add shaders and was wondering why they werent showing on version 1.17.0 retroarch. I ended up switching to AngryLion and it worked! Now Pokemon Stadium looks flawless !!😊

I still keep getting cannot load libretro core. I’ve installed retro arch and before I do anything at all I immediately lock the mupen64 core and create a backup. It will not load the core and it’s the original file included in the download

I just changed my plugin to glide and now no games are launching. What do I do to resolve it?

I downloaded your config file with angrylion and it started working again, but when I try and switch the plug-in to glide none of the games will launch. Do you know how I can swap to glide?

You updated the core so glide won't work. If you want it back you can try the restore thing shown in the video or reinstall Retroarch.

Was using glide and worked like a charm, but then, closed the game and now it opens without video. Anyone has had the same problem before? I have the 2.4ver of the core and had enabled the core update block option as per your suggestion in the retroarch setup video. Edit: Fixed it by deleting the emulator config folder. Something must've bugged.

I'm surprised you didn't cover or even mention the great standalone N64 emulator UWP released not too long ago. Most of my games run much better on that then in RetroArch

@@thomastedesco94 yes! Go to the core settings and you have to “load backup core” or something like that. Then lock the core. Restart, and it should work after that.

I love your videos man!! Is there any way to drop this this file on the internal config? Which storage configuration location is the specific or most important for running N64. The only one I can get to look like the paths in your video is E: BIOS the rest won’t show the same. Could you show or explain how exactly to do like 5 or 6 of them for us lower folks?

Thanks so much for the video. Have a somewhat esoteric question. Do you have any tips for running romhacks that are >64MB? Trying to play B3313 SM64 and due to its size it cannot be run on the out-of-the-box Mupen64 core. Have you encountered this?

Hey im pretty new to xbox retroarch but me and a buddy were able to get a lot of things working on there except saturn, ps2 and N64. Which bums me because we love Mario Kart 64. We got the cores from the online updater, tried booting up a game and just file doenst open..this happen to anybody recently??

core that is on xbox via online updater doesnt work. you have to uninstall then reinstall retroarch to get the original core, then go to core settings, scroll to mupen core and lock it.

Goated vid man. There any way you can point me to OOT Reloaded texture pack in htc format? Im only finding it in other formats. Also tried using emulators to create the htc with no luck. I dont think i can use dolphin for the version of OOT i have. Is there a texture pack format other than htc xbox RA can use?

If it is an N64 ROM hack you just have to apply the patch and it will work fine

It might be the version of retroarch you are using. Anything after 1.17.0 is broken. You might have to download an earlier update

@@R1ppedM0nk I actually just bought an RG353V handheld just for playing the n64 stuff I have I only use a laptop and it struggles emulating it so my Xbox is my best bet, this little friggin handheld plays everything I want on n64 so far so not to worried now haha.

do the texture packs absolutely have to be htc? i downloaded a hires_texture png pack and cached it in project 64 and retroarch and both came out as hts. the hts file works in project 64 gliden64 and retroarch mupen64plus-nx gliden64. i set the retroarch system directory to the usb that i use in the xbox and it works from there but it doesn't work on the xbox. i don't know where to find a htc mario kart 64 hd pack or how to cache one myself

I'm having this weird issue and can't find a solution anywhere online. I've installed retroarch on my series S with dev mode and everything works fine except for Nintendo 64. Nothing shows up in my directory for N64 games even though they're all in .n64 and .z64 format. Any suggestions?
