The game breaking issue on both xbox and PC is the 0 dead zone on the analog sticks with no option in the menu to adjust it. It makes the game feel like your character is on ice skates. I reported this issue to the devs through their website. If more of you take the time to do the same maybe we can have them add a deadzone slider in the controls menu. Right now the game is near unplayable on a controller.

It isn't unplayable with a controller. Just turn the sensitive up or down..plus on pc why would you be playing with a controller. Mine runs prefect on the pc with 150fps epic graphics

All I see is this about stick drift, yet I don't have it at all....idk what state your controller is in but I definitely don't have it.

@@JohnDoe-pu5gk No it's not stick drift. It's the non existent deadzone. Input is registered on the slightest touch of the stick meaning it's behaving almost digital instead of analog. I contacted the devs and they acknowledged the issue. I hope it gets fixed soon

I learned very very quickly that you are definitely better off playing this in the quality mode, on the X it's locked at 30 FPS and it's really stable. I know a lot of you can't stomach 30 FPS so that won't work for you but luckily I can deal with it perfectly fine because I'm an older gamer and I have played 30 FPS most of my life! The game is sadly very buggy though but I kinda expected it and it will be improved but it'll take time.

I grew up playing ps1, 2 ,dreamcast what have you and nothing ran even close to 30 fps most of the time and it was fine, but to still consider 30 fps acceptable in current day is insane to me, especially with a game like this.

I've played games since 1986 so I can handle it ok, whether it's acceptable to others is actually the point I made in my original comment, I'm okay with it until they improve the performance mode. Nobody has to play it if they don't want to ultimately.

I played the prologue and have to say the performance isn't great, frame drops all over the place and doesn't feel like a smooth 60fps even with VRR. Metro Exodus felt smoother and that wasn't perfect either. Gameplay wise, well it's ok but didn't impress me that much, at least not right now. I'll give it a try but I'm a bit disappointed tbh.

I have a Oled VRR tv and this is not smooth at all. The lighting was way to dark had to turn it up just to see. And the textures look super old or not good. Very dissapointed.

Performance mode seems to have this weird input lag as well specially while using knife and melee. Artifacting is quite visible 😅hopefully they will be able to fix it soon or atleast make it more better..

@4:29 That's not ray traycing. Just screen space reflection. You can see the reflections of the npc disappear once it is off the screen.

@Tiiliroskis with ray tracing you always have reflections wether the object is on or off screen. The xbox version may have some ray traced illumination but the reflections are not ray traced, they are screen spaced

Gamepad sensitivity feels off. Acceleration curve is bad. Too fast for small precise inputs and too slow at max turn speed. Hope they fix!

It’s not an “excuse”. They literally developed the game during an active war, waking up to the sound of air raids every morning, losing power, and literally losing fellow devs who went and fought for their country. So yes, it IS a miracle that they got this game across the finish line. Are they selling a product? Indeed. However, the circumstances here are, objectively, quite different and unfortunate. No need to support the studio if you don’t find the product acceptable; vote with your wallet. Me? I’ll be playing this later today.

I wish you’d stop saying there’s raytracing in quality maybe but performance absolutely not you’re looking at screen space reflections still. So far I’m not liking the game at all it’s classic Slav jank just like the first game in 2007 and I liked the original game it’s too bad that the original developers left and designed a better game in the metro series and this one is such a letdown. I also agree with another poster stop with the war excuses the studio relocated awhile ago. The deadzone controller issue suck big time.

I wouldn't play this on PC let alone on x box. The game sux on it's own and the optimization of console is horrible. The developers don't even know about controller deadzones. Aim assist just doesn't work. Fighting bloodsuckers is impossible because they always attack from the back and good luck turning around before they turns back invisible again because they didn't put in a fast turnaround. Just play Metro. It's 100x better.
