Xbox won't stop failing

The modern gaming industry really does suck. It’s sad to see how far Xbox has fallen. The original Xbox was great and the first half of the Xbox 360’s life was great too, but they started to falter once shifting to focus on Kinect for the Xbox 360, and then going into the disastrous Xbox One launch. It’s sad to think Xbox will never recapture their glory days, but I’m glad I was there to be a part of that time period.

I disagree on Kinect being bad, considering the best selling game on the 360 is Kinect Adventures. But they really shat the bed with it on the Xbox One.

I've had my Xbox 360 arcade since 2008 and it still works great. Never had red ring of death. But I do believe that the Xbox 360 had gotten some revisions by then. A new motherboard and better cooling among other things. I have so many great memories and there are so many great games for it. I still play on it from time to time to this date. It didn't have as many exclusives as the PS3 in the end of the 7th gen, despite starting strong. But it was the superior platform for online play (for consoles) and usually had the best version and best optimized 3rd party games. I prefer the PS2 because of the amazing library of both 3rd party and exclusives. But I have tremendous respect for the original Xbox and what it did too. But when the 8th gen arrived Xbox just blew it. But the only reason Sony didn't blew it was because Xbox marketing was just so stupid. I switched to PC and have never looked back. Both 8th and 9th gen have been incredibly lackluster and both Microsoft and Sony are so anti- customer these days. I too prefer physical games and actually owning access to my games at any time. I get the argument that "we never owned our games" and it's true. We never owned the content on the storage media. But we owned a copy of the storage media. Digital sucks. But it sucks a little bit less on PC. And piracy and emulation is preservation, and makes sure that there is always a way to play. It shoudln't be like that. But corporate greed and toxicity has made piracy and emulation a necessity.

I have both the Series S and Series X (one for upstairs) and both are THE BEST Xbox hardware Microsoft have made since the Original Xbox back in 2001, the build quality has been amazing since the XBOX One S (White XBONE slim), I actually prefer the XBOX because I can play all my original fighting games that are backwards compatible from Xbox original/360 in 4K. One thing that I would buy a PlayStation 5 for is if they allow me to play all my old PS1/PS2/PS3 games that I collected over 20+ years, I was originally a PS fanboy who grew up with PS1, but they burned me with the PS3 and I went with the 360 (Due to Dead Or Alive 4). I've been wanting for Dark Cloud 3 since 2008 but Sony just sits on that ip and won't even make a remake of the original. thing is, I can emulate all my PS1/PS2 games on my Series X/S with RetroArch (Yes you can install emulators on XBOX now it's crazy), that and all the ips that I cared about are no longer PlayStation exclusives and are multiplatform games on XBOX now (Tekken, Soul Calibur, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Final Fantasy).

No innovation. No investment in the casual gaming market. No couch co-op. The whole industry has lost its way in its singular pursuit "the gamer". People think i'm crazy but i genuinely believe the way forward is couch co-op. More games people can play together, together.

I'm glad I stumbled across your channel man! It's good to see a non-biased take. I'm personally a PC Gamer now just because I can do more with a PC, not just gaming, but everything else from content creation, writing, etc. That being said, I grew up with all 3 consoles. PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and the Wii. The first Console I ever owned was an Xbox 360, loved playing Burnout Paradise and Lego Indiana Jones, as I wasn't allowed to play M-Rated games. I like physical games too, and loved LOVED collecting for the PS4. I hated the Xbox One, as it just didn't feel like a gaming console, it felt more like a multimedia console, how you were discussing. The only thing I will say about the Xbox One I liked, was the Backwards compatibility for older games. I think that was the only thing better. The Series X alone is worth more just to be able to play physical media, not to mention it's a LOT more powerful. Keep up the good work man! Hope to see you continue uploading!

Xbox really need to delve into their back catalogue of games, rather then relying on Gears/Halo/Forza. How about Killer Instinct, Conker, Quake and a new Fallout.

The entire industry is failing. Big AAA games flopping, studios shutting down and thousands of people losing jobs. The relentless pursuit of live service games trying to be the next Fortnite. The console market has already hit it's saturation point meaning it's never going to sell any higher than the existing user base. People are going to be loyal and only stick to the platforms they want to buy. This is why exclusivity is going away so these companies can reach new people who wouldn't buy their console.

If you can’t remember the names of Xbox consoles you have the mental capacity of a 5 years old . People have no trouble knowing the difference between iPhone 12, iPhone 12Pro , iPhone 12 mini , iPhone 12 Pro Max but you draw the line at Xbox “Xbox was holding back gaming “ Microsoft stopped production of the Xbox one way before Sony , Sony was still making ps4s in 2022. Gamepass is just a bonus. You’d rather pay an online member ship for $16 with no games or would rather pay those same $16 and get a whole catalog of games ? I played hellblade 2 on release this week at no extra cost .Xbox is king with backwards compatibility , something Sony didn’t do with the ps4 or ps5. You can pop in a disc from every Xbox generation and it will most likely play . Not everyone is a collector you guys make the minority of all gamers , your rants are pathetic 🤣
