M21 EBR - Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Weapon Guide

The interesting thing with the M21 EBR is that it benefits so much from so many perks, but can't use them all at once. A bling M21 with silencer and ACOG turns it into basically a suppressed FAL without the need for stopping power, but using an ACOG would result in an inferior ADS time, which makes Sleight of Hand desirable. On the other hand the M21 tends to burn through ammo quickly, so Scavenger also good. Ideally, a person with a bling M21 would be killed by a guy with scavenger, who grabs some packs while using the gun, and then is killed by someone with sleight of hand, but by then it's more trouble than its worth. That being said, the M21 EBR with just the default scope's an interesting weapon: with stopping power it's essentially a WA2000 with more ammo capacity, faster reloads, and lower recoil.

Damn, I know that feeling. When I used to play Black ops 2, if turbine ever came up I would have to vote to skip because for whatever reason the game would freeze every fucking time turbine was loading. It used to piss me off so bad because if I joined a lobby that was already in session and it was on turbine, my PS3 would freeze up. It just happened out of nowhere one day too. I had played in turbine plenty of times, then one day it was loading up and just froze up. It took me awhile to realize it too. Anytime turbine was chosen it would just fucking freeze up for whatever reason, so joining lobbies started becoming a risk, lol. I would pray that the game wasn't already in session, but if it was I would pray it wasn't turbine. Luckily a lot of people hated that map so it would get voted against most times, but there were times I was in a sniper lobby and everyone would vote turbine and freeze my damn PS3, lol.

I often used a SPAS-12 with the M21 EBR, as I used it on tight maps like Skidrow or Favela. I had a fast trigger finger, so using it like an FAL or a single shot gun was no problem for me.

The first setup you have listed there (silencer, cold-blooded, etc) is immensely powerful in Hardcore game modes. I'd say its the best sniper for Hardcore modes, but thats just my own opinion...

if you want a more dmr like style with the m21, use this class: M21, acog, deagle akimbo or tac knife. throwing knife, concussion. Scavenger, stopping power, or any red perk, and steady aim. also, use UAV, pred missile, and ac130 or chopper gunner.

The m21 EBR is very well suited to a counter-sniper role when silenced. If you're playing an objective based game mode and find your team being shut down by a sniper at long range, maneuvering to his flank and lining up a head shot puts a quick end to the issue.

Ah, it was fun every once in a while to mix it up and be a sneaky bastard with this one. The Bling perk offered quite a lot for a sneaky bastard class using this weapon as well. I recall tracking a couple enemies with the heartbeat sensor and taking out two in the back when they stopped for cover approaching a firefight, then a third coming around the corner to see who killed those two. Plink plink, plink plink, plink plink, haha. Another time three, passed right by me hiding in the grass running for the next Domination flag. Two taken out in the back, and the third in the chest turning around to see what happened to his mates. Then, moving to a different spot overlooking my last position, took out a couple more inevitably searching for me from the kill cam location. It didn't happen all the time, but the occasional moments like those were memorable.

The FAL with the holographic and stopping power can do what the EBR + ACOG does much more reliably. I found the ACOG's idle sway to be too much of a disadvantage at medium ranges against assault rifles.

When playing hard core, this becomes the best sniper rifle ever. It has less recoil, is perfect with a silencer, is quicker to aim, and is very fast firing. Even in soft core I find my self using this with FMJ and stopping all the time and racking up tons of kills.

@modernwarfare318 No you gotta hit the neck or head. 50 cal/Int have 1.5 damage on head neck and chest, 1.1 damage on rest of torso and no extra damage any where else. WA2000 has 1.5 on h/n/ch but nowhere else, and then the EBR has 1.5 on head and neck and 1.1 on chest.

Basically an FAL with a proper scope.. I personally use it with a Silencer, Sleight of Hand Pro + Cold-Blooded. I find that the quick ADS with Sleight of Hand makes all the difference in normal range engagements (where you would otherwise use an AR) and the Silencer/Cold-Blooded arrangement means you live far longer, protected from the UAV spammers an' all...
