Cool WWII scenarios: Operation Gunnerside, a Norwegian resistance spec ops mission to destroy a tritium-deuterium production facility critical to Germany’s nuclear weapons program. They rocked up on the facility with skis, stealthed their way inside, planted bombs, and even had time to help one of the Norwegian staffers find his missing glasses before leaving without any casualties. Operation Anthropoid, the Czech and SOE joint ops mission to assassinate Reinhardt Heydrich and attempt to free Prague from Nazi occupation Operation Avalanche: the allied invasion of Italy (you can give it some degree of separation from the Nazis since it’s Mussolini’s guys instead)

Reaper weakness plus bewildered is great, the reaper gets an ability that lets you mag dump your rifle into one target, you keep firing until you run out of ammo. If you have the tier 3 expanded mag you can shoot her 6 times in one action for boosted damage on top of the damage ramping from bewildered

Comparing the Coke Christmas campaign with Kentucky for Christmas in Japan is a great disservice to Kentucky for Christmas. There was effectively no such thing as Christmas in Japan before that. They didn't just glom on to an existing tradition like Coke, they established a new one. The older bearded gentleman associated with Christmas in Japan is not Santa, it's Colonel Sanders. That's how effective it was.

Ben playing xcom? Chump me up commander! I highly recommend you give the skirmishes a solid try. They're not as flashy or cool as the other two faction units, but they're incredibly solid general infantry given they can fire twice in one turn for the same damage a normal rifle does.

Glad to see a return to form in xcom 2, I just started a legend playthrough myself! I'm using rpg overhaul and a ton of perk packs and mods with more aliens tho, and the beginning is def brutal on legend when you just have no action economy or bonds to save you from mistakes.

X-com 2 is good but but War of The Chosen improves on everything its incredible and it has so many mods. I had a feeling this might happen because I saw that Pyrion was playing it just before Jingle Jam with mods.

My favorite setting is legend but with double mission timers.

IF you're genuinely interested in cool overhaul mods then you can't get better than Covert Infiltration & Proficiency Classes. CI is all the best bits of Long War, without the annoying grindy bits or the insane game length. Proficiency Classes give your soldiers a much more balanced levelling curve (slightly stronger to begin with but aren't literal gods in the late game). Yellow Alert is another cool one for spicing up the micro-gameplay but it can definitely be frustrating

I really enjoy watching xcom but fuck playing it. I tried multiple times and just got fucked by RNG. I seem to have the worst luck when it comes to RNG in games. 70% chance to hit, 70% of the time ill miss 100% of the time....
