I pretty much agree with you in all points and I am glad you mentiontioned my fav. strat the "Death from Above" chosen sniper combo :-D For me in every run after the first one the Ranger or Sniper chosen is my 1st priority to hunt :-)

Sharpshooters are lethal against the Lost if you have the headshot card. Run into a pack of Lost and they will all die as your pistol has infinite ammo. You'll even be left with a final action point to run into cover :) They're also great when defending the Avenger from the laser cannons. I send a reaper forward to find the cannon and then have 3 Sharpshooters plink away until it's dead. Note that bluescreen rounds don't work on the cannon any more (or on the sarcophagus).

14:55 Lightning Hands, Quickdraw, and Rapid Fire is 5 total shots in one turn, huge damage potential with appropriate ammo type.

Killzone is devastating with a sniper that cannot miss, especially if u deploy it on an unaware pod. U get up to 7 shots on any move they make, and each can take 2 shots from their reaction and their turn too. A single sniper can basically annihilate an entire pod by itself, or at least cripple it. It can also cause massive damage to 2 pods. Its a must have for a sniper, especially when they usually stay far away anyway so faceoff is worthless. I took 2 snipers in xcom2 vanilla ans they annihilated anything with ease. This ability was the key. Almost any pod was butchered by this.

Hi Cobra, I would not be aware of a scenario, where killzone cannot miss. Killzone follows the overwatch rules, which multiplies your hit chance with 0.7. So the maximum that you can achieve (even with more than 100 toHit) is a 70% chance for each of the individiual shots. Additionally, more often than not vision blocks the option to trigger the killzone. So it is a very HIT or MISS ability, which may work out great, but likely will do nothing.

@@SykenPlays why u say it doesnt take super high aim into account?? a very high aim of more than 140 should enable u to get around 100% hit chance with overwatch shots, which make killzone totally devastating. even without that its awesome and can allow u to shoot 7 times, and up to twice at every enemy if activated on an unaware pod on their move. one soldier doing that every a few turns, is insanely useful and devastating for your enemies.

@@cobrazax The way that overwatch is implemented is that it caps at 100% hit rate, exceeding aim is not taken into account. The overwatch Malus is 0.7 (meaning the effective hit chance is multiplied by that amount). The highest chance you can get on every given overwatch shot is 70%. Additionally, overwatch shots cannot crit (unless you have skills for that) and will always trigger on the first unit that moves (so usually the one with the highest hit points). I have extensively used kill zone and besides the few options, where it was doing incredibly well, the vast majority of the time, it is underperforming. It is a niche skill for ambushes (i.e. conceilment breaking + overwatch). It performs well in this case with extended magazines. Outside this application, you are much better off skilling something else.

Kill Zone would be so much better if chosen weapon had expanded magazine not autoloader. It's still great for overwatch traps.

i said on another video i disagree with you about kill zone, but seeing that you convienced me... i never thought faceoff that way, because for me, a sniper is a very long range dps, so most of the time i never approach them from the heart of the battle, 90+% of the time shooting through squad sight... but i also do a lot of mistakes as pulling 2 packs on the same turn, and with kill zone i managed to do miracles a lot of time since i often need 2 turns to clean everything... but yes, in your way it shouldn't have happend at first so... xD i think i must learn to use my sniper in another way... i mostly played it with talon rounds, and unleash hell with the skill alowing to keep shooting if you killed an ennemy, and relied on 2 grenadiers to shred everything beforehand, wich is devastating for the aliens, so much i never thought about that pistol combo... i only saw the pistol as a desperate move, or an economical kill for the last 2-4hp left on an alien

@@SykenPlays yes, they are. I just played Xcom1, on release, then i skipped Xcom2 and went for Chimera Squad. Only now i started Xcom2 so snipers felt weak a bit. But i retrained them and now they are insane

gatekeeper is a mechanical unit?? it can be poisoned so i dont know how that can be

The gatekeeper is a hybrid unit. It counts as mechanical for the purpose of bluescreen rounds, but can be mind controlled and affected by statuses like burning and poisoned. It cannot be hacked though.

lightning hands is always for free. Quickdraw just basically means your pistol shots take only one action and don't end your turn.

When get a free action from death from above, if u also have run and gun, u can use it to gain an extra action and be able to fire your sniper rifle again!!

Implacable is not compatible with run and gun. But yes, DFA would refund a single action and R&G would allow for the sniper to take a 2nd shot. The chosen rifle does that per default.

@@SykenPlays i didnt mention implaceable at all. i just said run and gun is great for snipers if u can get it, for allowing u a double shot when used with death from above. sure the chosen rifle does that by default, but u can only get it late game, and only for one sniper. also...its mag is tiny and it makes killzone with it extremely limited. i wish it had an expanded mag instead of stock or auto loader...or anything really. its way better.
