DISCLAIMER: IF YOU DO THIS AND MESS UP YOUR OWN PLAYER, I AM NOT AT FAULT. YOU TAKE THE RISK. Technically, you can adjust the tension on the XDJs but it requires getting under the hood. You just have to confident enough to do it. I've done so on my XDJ-700s, a friends XDJ-1000 and even the older CDJ-850s and the process is relatively the same. On my XDJ-700s I was able to adjust my tension to be about 11-12 o'clock on what a NXS2 player would be. You would have to disassemble the player and under the platter is a gear gauge with a screw. The screw is holding a tensioning spring which basically acts as an resistance for the gear gauge. With the gear gauge, there is different levels of -4, -3, -2, -1, 0, +1, +2, +3. On the gear gauge holder, there is a stop post which indicates where the tension on the jogwheel is set. Normally it's at +1 or +2. You basically unscrew the screw that is holding the spring, move the dial around to the indicated number you want to adjust the tensioning to be with the stop post going through it, tighten back the screw holding the spring and voila. You adjusted the platter jogwheel tension. The following is if you want to match both decks EXACTLY 100 percent but isn't required. You can get both decks to match perfectly on the tension as well. But it requires you testing with the resistance tension of the spring and going through the service mode on the XDJ. Basically within service mode you can test the speed of the jogwheel, you have to spin the jogwheel a few times and on screen it indicates the speed rotations on it. NG means its out of spec, OK means its in spec. The base value is 100 and a range of +15 or -15 is the starting ground where you should be focused on. For example. If I did all of the following above, set my dial to -2, after spinning the jogwheel a few times within the service mode, it'll give me an average rotation number. That number has to be at any point anywhere +15 or -15 of the base number 100. You do the same thing to the following deck and just try to match the numbers as close as possible. The service manual for the XDJ-1000 and XDJ-700 is readily available, just do some googling. There are a couple videos on YT that shows this (its easier on the XDJ700s bc its a notch oppose to an actual dial) just search "XDJ-700 or XDJ-1000 jogwheel adjustment". Both videos are in Spanish. Hope that helps!

How can you use them in performance Modus with a djm 900 nxs? Usually I use cdj3000 linked to a djm900nxs2 and plug in the USB from my Mac to the mixer and select source on the player to USB then. But on the xdj1000 that didn't work and they don't have a source option. Do I need to connect every player via USB to my Mac? All xdj are linked with the mixer through a switch. Thanks for any help!

And its gonna be a set i only use in my home. Alot of pros on the list why i should go for this. I havent seen so much buzz about this setup, is people sleeping on this or is it to close of a step to the 2-3000s so people skip this one? Take Care.

@priyonjoni
@priyonjoni 3 жыл бұрын
It’s a more accurate audio connection. Essentially, it bypasses the DAC of the the player going to the mixer so you don’t have analog signal degradation. Also, having two outputs gives you signal output redundancy in case one of them fails. Note, the mixer has to have a digital input to utilize this. DJM-750mk2 doesn’t have digital inputs.

@@m-stat9 Pioneer DJ really missed the mark with this one. They managed to get rid of the CD slot and still find a way to raise the price of the unit. The next iteration of the "CDJ" will have to be phenomenal or they will lose their market position. The Denon tech that is currently available far exceeds anything Pioneer DJ has at the moment.

@@m-stat9 Ive researched all day today about the Denon Sc5000's. I was sold! But........ Analyzing tracks isn't like reckordbox as in analyzing a whole folder etc. The system only analyzes only a certain track individualy. For djs with extensive libraries , this will be a real pita. Next ... Reliability issues consumers have been writing about the Sc5000 out of the box . Audio quality in a few cases and also the link system for anyone with an external with heavy libraries . I hope they continue to work on these things but even the Sc6000 has a lot of the same issues from what I've read . They are definitely alot cheaper but when it comes to quality , pioneer still holds up better

@dj-peterofficial2753
@dj-peterofficial2753 3 жыл бұрын
@@m-stat9 Well, that's your personal opinion and based on the features you think will benefit you, but for others that may not be the case at all. For me personally the lack of CDJ mode, which I've been using instead of vinyl mode since 1994, makes it disqualified in my eyes. I will NEVER use music I have not prepared in advance, and if I would anyway, I have no problem playing a track that is not analyzed. It's kind of what I've done since 1985 until 2012... The wireless feature sounds amazing, but in reality it's utterly useless for me, as I made over 200 gigs during the 2 year before the pandemic, on a party cruise where Internet will not be available on open sea for many years to come. Neither would it work in some deep down basement clubs I sometimes play where they've intentionally blocked internet access and phone signals to get people off their phones. I do like the big screen, but as long as they still had one huge size letters, it was on a level with a first gen CDJ-2000 in regards to what was available on the screen when browsing. That is partly fixed now, but still not as good as it could be, unless you have really bad eyesight. New features and performance updates are still coming, and that could be seen as something good, or you could like me think it's a shame they didn't release a fully working player to begin with. Then we have the ''feeling'' of the buttons and jog wheel. The jog wheels on the Denons are a joke compared to the touch AND pressure sensitive mechanical jog wheels on the pioneer players. Much too heavy and they just never stop spinning, and that is because of the huge piece of metall they're made of. I really don't like any capacitive jog's, but the ones on the Denon series of players are the worst. The buttons (play/pause...) need to be pushed hard compared to Pioneer buttons, so no feeling at all. Has also made a number of users to break those buttons on the SC5000's and they are not cheap or easy to get. And the pads... yikes. That really only is for the controller DJ's wanting stand alone gear and I dislike them just as much on any gear or brand having them. And yes, I have used both the SC6000's and the SC5000's, and I have owned the Prime 4. I will never trade my pioneer gear for any of the new Denon DJ gear. I've thoroughly vetted all the potential models that could have been something I could use, but they just didn't stand the test. Those are my personal opinions based on what I know and feel about Denons new gen DJ gear, and I know most of my colleagues think the same. I will continue to update my knowledge about their gear and software, but I can't see them changing stuff to a point where I'd get interested. What I do like is the competition Denon give Pioneer, at last. That will give all users better DJ products in the future, both Pioneer and Denon, but it also means that every Denon user need to put their money where their mouths are, and buy the new Denon club gear, because I can assure you that I and most Pioneer users have. I assume you have. Tip: Don't ever mention the price and use that as comparison ever, because that already tells that you're not the intended customer. We don't see the gear as a cost, but as an investment, and counting the cost per used hour on pioneer club gear, they are probably the cheapest brand on the market. That is also why the price is of no matter. And please... don't compare reliability and say ''the CDJ-3000 has also had problems...'' The share number of devices out there is at least 1000 to 1, so yes there will be devices from Pioneer having issues, of course, but for us who has been using the club gear since the 90's know the truth about how good the reliability in fact are. We also know how good access to spare parts and certified service repair shops we have when the accident or just wear and tear calls for it. Denon still has a lot to make up for in those areas.

@jgonz3542
@jgonz3542 10 ай бұрын
I bought mine last year and I would tell you that they are in fact still "worth it". Everyone has different values and different levels of experience so here's the value that I still get out of these in 2023: 1) I'm a grown ass man who's rave days are likely gone so I like to crank up the house every now and then and I can use USB's to to jump on and do a 10 minute set. 2) I don't need to fire up a lap top even. 3) I use these with a DJM S7 Mixer which gives me multiple ways to use these (HID mode) and when using my lap top running RB I am maximizing the functionality of my mixer which has pads, key play, samples and what not but the fact that I pick the MIXER functionality I want is a huge win...keep in mind I cant use ALL my mixers features if I run these stand alone. 4) They are dead sexy. 5) I was brand new to RB when I got mine so I had to spend a LOT of time researching and learning RB, using the modes doing that home work really taught me a ton more about being a Digital DJ then just using my Turntables and Serato DVS. Here's the biggest downside: Pioneer DJ's support is awful....not just for this product...but they don't even pick up the phone any more. Its all emails and videos so if you need help your going to be on your own so Join some FB groups. If I had to do it over again I think I would since I already had a pretty dope mixer. If I had a basic analog mixer and I was doing a full upgrade I would look into the REV 5 since it is like a poor mans version of my DJM S7/XDJ 1000MK2. Good luck man. Great question. I opened mine and changed the tension adjust and haven't looked back.

@@jgonz3542 I appreciate the response! I’m planning on getting something to mix with soon and have had the DDJ 1000 years ago. Loved it but I didn’t like the fact that I needed a laptop to play. I know there are stand alone controllers but their all ugly in design i really love the classic club look and honestly wish that pioneer made a controller like the FLX 10 but instead of the jog wheels having the display, they put two screens on top of the jog wheels to make it look like a portable club set up stand alone, that would be awesome but pioneer would never do that. I’m looking to get these just for the fact of using usb and going on the fly but the new stem feature on the flx 10 seems intriguing since I’m a producer that would be an easy way to get acapellas from songs to sample so i can see that being a more useful thing.
