It amazes me that there are grown men out there that still believe our government cares.
@two-wheeledprepper31473 жыл бұрын
I would hardly call them "grown men". Many of them are millennial, and most millennials are mentally and emotionally stunted to the point where they're in a state of permanent childhood in an adult's body, and this is coming from me who's a millennial myself. People our age are in a perpetual state of permanently being mentally juvenile, and that's why they want the government to take care of them because they never learned to be adults so they need a mommy and daddy to take care of them still and the government is their mommy and daddy.

@@Kektamusprime people like you and I are the exception not the rule when it comes to millenials, I'm afraid. You are mostly correct about boomers being the ones trusting, though. Boomers didn't have to grow up with the same societal uncertainties we did and have a normalcy bias so they don't think anything will ever go wrong. Therefore, boomers trust the government, however, it's not in the same toxic, vindictive and parasitic manner of trusting the government the same way millenials trust the government.

Having once had to bug out with two young sons in tow (fleeing for my life) through one of the hottest deserts on Earth (the Nullarbor, in Australia), I can tell you, this guy did almost everything wrong! Every desert dwelling tribe travels at night, and pitches their tents and sleeps during the day! The darkness protects you from the heat of the sun, but also from bandits. You choose an area with at least a little shade (even a shaded rock) and sleep through the hottest part of the day. At dusk you wake up, eat, drink, pack your kit while there is still some light and and prepare to move on, as soon as it is dark. If you come across a dry lake bed, don't think that you can shortcut across it safely! You can be seen for miles in every direction, there is no shade, and usually no water. In addition to this, dry lakebeds and salt pans sometimes have quicksands (or in salt beds, thin crust that hides deadly caustic reservoirs of super-concentrated saline). Keep to the foots of mountain ranges, there is usually water and shade there, and also often patches of forest or scrub that contain wildlife that you can hunt! Even in a desert, trees often have hollow trunks that fill with water during a rain, or they may store drinkable quantities of water in their trunks or just under their bark. It depends on your area, but in Australia, Paperbark trees and Baobab (Boab) trees are known water sources for Aboriginal tribes, also all opuntias (Prickly Pears) are fully edible (just watch out for the spines and also glaucids (almost microscopic irritating spines or hairs), and their fruit and pads are a good source of water. Opuntia pads and fruit can be de-prickled by either brushing them with a coarse broomy shrub or briefly roasting them on the coals of a fire. Some other cacti have poisonous leaves and stems (san pedro, peyote, saguaro especially), but all cactus and succulent fruit is edible, and most are quite juicy as well! The other cactus that is fully edible is Cholla, although it has a lot of spines and glaucids, which can be burnt and then scraped off. It is called the "Jumping Jack" or "Boxing Glove" cactus for a reason, though, so you will have to be very careful when harvesting it! I hope this information helps someone, if you ever have to bug out into a desert biome. God Bless!

Yep, relax. What you can do is what I have done. 1. Decide on whether are going to leave home or stay. If you are gonna stay some things become easier, other things aren't. You are going to make a decision on where you're gonna go also, who ya gonna be living with, etc. Once those simple decisions are made then the real work begins. Teach yourself and kids skills...lots of skills. That is something that they can pass on to anyone, skills don't wear out, break and can be applied to anything or any situation: such as camping, outdoor survival, games and even work. From that point on, you just add to the skills and you never know know it will take you or your kids. My eldest finished with the National Guard, got through college and wound up as a research scientist. And I don't have any worries about their family's future nor abilities. I can say the same for my younger child. First learn critical thinking skills, turn off the TV, get up from the game station and get outside. That is IF you want to set a positive example for your kids. Life is for Living, learning, and passing on your knowledge and values to your children. And it can be a super fun trip!

There's absolutely no industry at the southern Massachusetts anymore we haven't seen our fishing and our wailing and our cod fishing industries up and running in 2 years, it's open and the lights are on but there's no boats out in the water, as a matter of fact one of them blew up not too long ago because they're sitting there rotting away, more teachers are pretty much at my son's school making it very clear how f****** high on heroin they're getting, and I'm just continuing to prep. This video was great work. Absolutely great work I've already gotten three notes taken in the beginning, also I don't know why there's people that still think the government cares they're just going to run into Cheyenne mountain, and their new space force Raven Rock, and they're going to be laughing at all the footage that they see because that's what they do we're just peasants disposable income to them and they are our enemy, again God isn't you know.

In most countries, you have a chance underground though I imagine the local government will dictate on everything from sex slaves to workers going out and cleaning up in radiation zones while they monitor with drones. No work, No eat. The US though, we have no provisions for general public safety. Nothing. You can bet though, if you do survive cause of your luck and skillset, they will damn fast put you to work for room and board (likely MREs and a dirty ass smart cot and a green blanket) and work your ass until you fall over, while hoarding the meds for themselves and triage the sick, and watch also on drones. Certain types of critics are good tho, they help you improve your work because no matter how good you are at something you can always get better. The critics that are bad however are the ones who generalize, don’t recommend how to fix the problem, and the ones that are aggressive about it

The mask was an essential part of the film at the beginning and the middle. Proper fit is very important to the one who wears it. Also it brings realism to the film. Improperly worn the film looses some of its credibility on how bad the situation really is. Other than that it was a good film.
@scottyfox63765 жыл бұрын
Just abit of information for preppers, those dust masks have practical drawbacks. I've worked at lead smelters & I can tell you after wearing those types for 12 hours a day for several weeks they really start to hurt. Must be clean shaven to seal the masks effectively & the cartridges do get blocked up in dusty conditions so spares are necessary. Full face masks are the go for long term usage.

May I ask why would you want to prep for this just jump off a building this is no way to live if you do survive every waking minute you are at a big threat of being shot robbed or starving, do you really want to live 60 years because let's say you're only 20 even if you did survive you might not only be lonely but you could watch your love ones die of the worst ways

The first thing that go out will be cellphones, power and water. The one thing to have is a gun and enough ammo to last a while because without it, everything you have including your family can easily be taken by another if they just simply point a gun at you. I'd say the main defensive gun is a shotgun with a good semi-auto rifle with 30 round magazines as backup and everyone should have a pistol on them and ample ammo on them just in-case you get separated, and always discuss the intended destination or rally point to regroup. If you are in a city, you are screwed, and the suburbs are not much better. Having a serious 4X4 with fun flat tires and enough fuel to get you to where you need to bug out to is barely a minimum as if the one main road leading you there is out or controlled by a well armed group, you will need to go around and that could add more miles than you have fuel for. And living out in the country, until the fuel is depleted, bad guys will load up and head out that way. You need a small community, out in the sticks, with natural choke points for defending, and everyone NEED TO BE ON BOARD WITH SURVIVING!

Speaking of islands. . . I hope someone with clearance makes an indie post-apocalyptic film set on Plum Island someday. There's some really good-creepy settings there -- ancient archeological ruins, Revolutionary-era ruins, and Cold War era ruins. Also some beautifully-desolate, vacant beaches. It's safe to breathe there as long as you stay outside and don't go into any of the Cold War buildings; but I'm pretty sure it's still off-limits for filming. Hopefully not forever. . .
