Sonic Adventure 2: Final Rush Mission #1 - A Rank

Here is the final mission of the hero story: Final Rush.
In order to get an a rank in this level, get rings and tons of them. Try to also get a low time if possible as well.
Also, near the end of the level near a checkpoint, you must take a rocket to get to Mystic Melody.
Score needed: 13000

Momentum-based rails need to make a comeback. The fully automatic rails in the later games don't make you feel nearly as cool.

Stegomasaurus, they were back in Sonic Unleashed. And I have Windmill Isle Day Act 3 without a boost gauge filled to prove it. The problem is, you boost all the time, so you don't know.

This is one of my favorite levels. The tension while playing it thrusts you to get faster and faster. I think it has a spot next to city escape.

I finally finished Hero story, and this level was sooooo *stressful* . Just 1 wrong jump, 1 wrong step, 1 mess up, and Sonic goes crashing down through Earth`s atmosphere while catching fire. You spend more than half of the level, especially in the beginning, grinding on rails & often after grinding on 1 rail it launches you into the sky & you have to land on the other rail with good precision, 1 mistake & there goes Sonic crashing like a fireball. The fact that you see the Earth in the background in the level just amplifies the tension. I loved grinding on rails but the tension never left, especially due to it being my 1st time, and I had went blindly into almost all the levels so far, so I finished on rank E, took about 6 minutes (Cmon it`s my 1st time, I went blindly & I was really scared of falling. Pls cut me some slack, guys. I`m gonna try again after watching a few videos) By the time I finished this level I was bathed with sweat. almost no game made me feel that way before. This stage did its job perfectly. (Maybe it was my fear of heights that kicked in...) EDIT: I finished watching the video, nice job, you seem unfazed while playing no matter what the game throws at you, awesome dude! You maintained your speed nicely! I`m trying to get at least C or B rank on this stage but I`m still getting D every time I try, latest is 5:54 minutes with 245 rings, I`m still below 10000 points. EDIT 2: Finally got C rank, barely got about 10000 points. Edit 3: Got B rank with a score of 11490!

At 3:37, rather than taking the straight path with the rail you need to grind up, take the far right rail (the one you'd use to reach the Mystic Melody pillar for #3 chao mission). You'll get an 'Awesome' bonus (1000 points) which helps make the level more manageable

Not jumping off the green end of the rails, not taking the massive shortcut after the spiral rails, not getting the golden beetle, not using the vertical rails to make massive vertical jumps and speed up the climbing part... Why am I feeling so offended by this video? I mean, you got an A-rank, but damn, you didn't really play the level to its extent.

I physically cringed at every missed railjump. That's like 3500 points passed up on that alone that could have replaced all the extremely precarious rail-switching to get item boxes worth not very much.

Honestly I’m thankful they didn't do the green end jumps. Those things are seemingly frame-perfect for anything beyond Nice so I’m thankful I don't have to do them.

I managed to get D, IDK how he cut his time so easily, it takes me 6 minutes. Xendemo`s time is 2 minutes less! Edit: got C rank on this stage as of now, barely managed to get about 10000 points.

It’s pretty easy once you build a route your able to get 10000 score without time bonus.

If anyone's having trouble meeting the score threshold for a rank, try taking the long downward rail to the right at 1:04 it will lead to the gold beetle and give you a ton of points. It's a bit riskier but it was the easiest way to A rank for me.

What absolutely irritates me is that the blueprint for a classic 3D Sonic game has always been SA1 & 2 as to why they felt the need to try and re-invent the wheel from Sonic Heroes onwards is beyond me. They just needed to expand on an already solid concept instead we have the boost abusing, non-exploring games of today.

sucks that 06 was the closest we ever got to "SA3" but they fucked it up so bad they never went back to this style of level design again. the boost games are just so boring to me idk why people love them so much what i loved about the adventure games (mostly adventure 2) is that if you wanted to get a good score you HAD to interact with the level design in a meaningful way instead of just skipping and boosting past everything
