Hey guys I have social anxiety and never talk to anyone. How come this streamer who spent a lot of time to create a large network of fans and acquaintances has an easier time finding a group? I dont get it. Why won't sfia randomly invite me to a party while I do solo beast tribes? I hate this Rich guy reeeeeeeeeee.

People who claim "streamer privilege" often forget that the streamer would have had to build up their reputation. Rich wasn't fucking born with his popularity, he built it up by making content a sum of people enjoy watching.

Everyone has some form of anxiety but unfortunately some things in life can't be done by yourself. If they want to do the harder content in an MMO, a game filled to the brim with many different kinds of personalities then they are going to have to come out of their shell.

Yes and no, I guess. @@watchdoge6464 Yes he is Except it'd take 1k more pulls because he'd need to learn to dps while doing the mechanics instead of just learning to do the mechanics (which is substantially harder) Also, i475 shadowless gear, i510 pots & food make the dps check much, much more lenient than it was (I did it with said i475/i510 stuff, and the dps check was nonexistent for the most part). Could he have been carried that way when tea was current content? Doubtful. Could he learn how to do the fight properly? Well duh, it's not that hard, repeat the same fight hundreds and hundreds of time and eventually even your rotation relative to the fight becomes muscle memory

@@watchdoge6464 That's a dumb statement. Like the guy above me said, it would only have taken him more time. 13:37 - Really huge. The same thing happened with Palace of the Dead when Asmongold first went into it for Necromancer. The amount of people interested in going for Necromancer blew up and what was a smaller sub-community grew dramatically. It went from maybe a new Necromancer every week or so, to suddenly multiple new Necromancers each DAY. Personally for me, seeing Rich's clear made me even more motivated for our group in TEA now, we've had a second clean wormhole (thank you Korean sim), went through a scuffed Enumerations, but saw J-waves for first time last night. It's made me do research and memorization exercises of Phase 4 every day. I'm ready for callouts for movements for Almighty Judgements too. Little update: Cleared on 11/27/2021. PeepoClap

As a necromancer myself i feel the need to necro this thread just to agree with the fact that famous streamers doing this type of content brings in new waves of people. I was starting to do ultimates and was struggling to get a fresh group, as i wanted that experience of getting to learn the fights with the static. Thanks to whatever the streamers did like Rich, and me being in Cactuar (about 4 months before Asmon mentioned he'd be playing ffxiv) there was a huge influx into our FC and i was able to find people who were really interested in doing the hard content (wouldn't call them wow refugees as the 3 we needed and joined hadn't played since MoP and Legion). Now, i can see the people disliking it, such as myself from my own pov and morality, as i'd hate it to be carried as rich did, but i don't even care. I hate it how people voice their opinions so strongly about whatever a famous streamer did, which in reality it positively affects you since they bring in more people to your game (yes, lots of idiots who you can easily avoid and pick up the ones you can play with). So to summarize, i dislike the fact he cleared it being carried like that, but i don't care, he can do whatever he wants as long as it doesn't affect me, i thank rich and popular streamers for the influx of people, but i personally found them very boring to watch, like asmon's alexander savage where he was 100% carried lol.

Realistically he wouldn’t be clearing the fights without having hardcore raiders parsing like gods to makeup for lost dps and everybody knows it. On another level, not that many people really care and he doesn’t brag he’s good either. Personally, I find the outrage hilarious. I’m a midcore console player-if I want to do a random extreme/savage fight, I can usually hop on to PF, learn it fairly quickly, and get a few clears. Do I have any interest really in doing Ultimate fights? Not really-that’s not my play level nor my time dedication. Do I love watching recaps of clears? Absolutely. So when a streamer like Rich goes through the fights in a marathon session with other streamers I’ve enjoyed over my 8 years on this game, I *love* the content. Rin is hilarious, and their overall vibe as a group is perfect. So when I see all these jealous Andys and parse Andys come out of the woodwork, I grab the popcorn. Dude, y’all need to take a step back from the game. It’s not that serious. I’ve never looked at a parse meter in my life, and I routinely get commendations as a dps-you might find the game more enjoyable if you don’t obsess so much over numbers and just focus on the game for once lol. Also, everyone comes back to this, but it’s important: no one would watch the stream if it were 8 noobs, unless they were *wildly* entertaining. I mean like roflmao level at all times, bc let’s face it, that would be weeks of constant wiping. Ya, there’s privilege involved. Do I give af? No. Should you? Probably not. PS. Me and the other tank swapped around who did what a lot to make things smoother and more reliable, just like they did with Rich, if this means the better player does harder mechanics, good, means it'll be more reliable and you get more pulls go far so you learn later mechanics faster. What people also seem to miss is that, in the words of my static leader, all you need is 2 braincells, a single functional ear and a lot of determination to clear ultimates. If you're ready to wipe 500 times in a row, seeing minimal improvement between each pull, congratulations, you're ready for ultimates. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

I remember a specific one were Woops backflipped at the wrong time and caused everyone to wipe. There were times were even Sfia messed up and wiped the entire group. TEA is a punishing and demanding fight, even the best players make mistakes and wipe the entire party. Anyone who claims Rich caused all the wipes didn't watch his prog, clearly.

Bit late, but I think people have such warped ways of thinking about the ultimates and challenge in general. In my opinion, the best aspect of ultimate raiding has always been coming together and helping others get those kills. There is a HUGE difference between watching a guide while following pre-made starts and blind progression where you are informed where you went wrong and how to avoid it. Technically watching a guide can be considered cheating if you are a hardcore gamer. The most important part of any MMO is being able to create and/or join a group to be able to clear group content. If you are not able to properly socialize with other human beings and can not communicate in a respectful manor when a difficult situation arises (i.e., needing to replace a member of the group for not performing at the level of the rest of the group, or being late/absent for scheduled sessions) then endgame content may not be possible for you unless you get extremely lucky on party finder.

I do not get this community, there's not even a leaderboard, theres people fighting over colors in FFLogs playing as a healers and healing 0 for the damage, people want to play single player and complain about the achievement of other person who actually gather people around to play with, this game has zero competitive and have extreme sensitiveness among the player base, and people who complain mostly of the time are frustrated with their group (if have one) or do not even touch savage/ultimate because is scared to fuck up like fuck up the solo tribe quest that they did. I complain about the game giving accessibility to everybody to do everything just because they want, do not have any type of lock to filter the tiers for the person at least try with baby steps, so we have a bunch of players who does not know the basics swarming the end game, but these people do not even join this category, they just stay in their place saying bad things about the others who actually try, I am one of these people frustrated with the game state, but for other reasons, not because of people achieving what they try to. And always come someone saying "but... back in the day when I DID was harder", I play the game since beta 3, the game became user friendly for sure, more "easy" and stuff, at least in it core mechanics, but from someone who is starting today, will be hard, they will need to learn, they do not have the same experience as the player who say something like that and so on. People need to get the things for themselves, not for the others, since the game do not have anything inviting for the end game content nor for who is better or worst. I agree taking a stand for this streamer.

Before watching the main part and just from the intro, I'd put my thoughts into RichTEA clear: He kinda got carried, but not in the sense I feel a lot of the comments are about. He was taken through it by a group that had cleared the fight numerous times on multiple characters, so they could point out where to stand/what to do. He had his hand held a lot through learning the fight, and slight nudges during the actual clear. HOWEVER, he cleared the fight on the merits of his own skill at the end of the day. Even if there was some level of carrying done, if he wasn't good enough to earn the clear, he wouldn't have it, and there's no real room for arguement there. People in PF can repeatedly die to unsynced old content whilst having their hand held with callouts/rescue, and just from watching the kill clear, the minor nudges in the right direction were Rich asking for quick verrification on his positioning; "Am I right here?", to which he was told yes he was. He got through the fight, maintained rotation to the best of his ability (which was almost full uptime), and definitely deserved to come away a Triple Legend

The reason people are mad is because we are all antisocial and awkward nerds who wish we could get a group of pro players to put up with our idiot selves learning the fight and be patient until we get through it. That said, I've played ARR since launch and not done any of this new stuff. I am not great, but I could probably do it with a semi solid group. But IMO, that's the hardest part. Finding a semi solid group of people who understand mistakes happen and life gives not a solitary shit about your wants/plans... is the hardest part of Savage+. I gave up in SB at ever touching anything about normal raid levels personally. Does Rich having a grey parse really matter that much to people? It's an Ultimate, you still need good enough DPS to be able to clear these fights. Parses for Ult clears, to my logic (if I'm wrong please correct me), will still show moderately high numbers even if they're grey parses because in order to clear, you still need to how to do damage. I'm not sure if the way I worded that makes sense but regardless, people are trying way too hard to make it seem like Rich's clear wasn't well deserved.

It matters to anyone who wants to invalidate his clear, because the concept that someone is better than you is hard to digest, especially when you've sunk so many hours into something. And its not so much that the numbers are big and small for ultimate clears, its mainly that some people care a lot about how they perform compared to other people. Some in a healthy way ("How can i play better, this guy pulls 1k more dps than me consistently") and some in an unhealthy way ("Hah, my parses are 30 percent higher than this guy, hes a shitter")

I honestly dont give a fck. The fact Is, rich got as much support as he could possibly get to clear those ultimates. So what? It doesn't change anything. The only reason I'm even here is because I saw xeno reacts to dumb comments I don't even care what it's about.

I dont think Rich had a choice but to have top-tier help. It would have been terrible for the other team members if he had gone random pugs. If they weren't way, way better than it is fair to expect, they would have been shit on hardcore by his viewers. Also resident sleeper(tm)

i ve seen rich in wow and now for a good while in ffxiv, i have to say i am happy to see him bring more ppl to ffxiv, and actually enjoying the game and the hard content... Now, as a mythic raider in wow with several cutting edges, and now as beginner raider in ff i can relate with the damn parses. Who really cares if is grey or green or purple on your first kill? I am telling you in ff or in wow, it doesnt matter! what matters is that the boss died, you got to the end. Some fights in ffxiv are nuts, you need to watch a damn documentary and get a phd in primals if u want to start ultimates or any other harder bosses; by the time u finished the guide, you forgot most of things that happen in ph1. Dont even get me started if u go in blind to progress and actually want to enjoy your first time. And for him is even more important coz his reaction hypes the stream. Now taking that aside and focusing on "the streamer" progressing at a faster pace then rest of ppl, even "carried" how some ppl say it, it s still hard! Sometimes ppl in your group that cleared it many times, get so used to the routine of the fight they stop calling stuff out, small things that might kill someone in an ultimate, who has less progress than them, coz if u are progressing, your attention is all over the place, you get the nerves pumped and have moments of brain freeze where you ask yourself did i fk up my rotation here? what animation did the boss? did i miss the window to dps? or the window to move in the right position? All in split second and when in doubt your instant response will be surive > anything. If we get the enrage, well at least i know where it ends, and now i ve seen the fight. Anyway not sure ppl will read this wall of text but this topic got me involved. Grats to rich and gg to you xeno for these nice topics. o/

The gate keeping of the FF community has revealed that they are just toxic, insecure community with a thin veneer of positivism. Toxic positivity is still toxic. Absolutely disgraceful.

Not the topic, i dont think of WoW graphics as "better," or "worse." WoW chooses its look, its a style choice. I like WoW's art style, but i like ffxiv's graphics better

10:34 that speaks to me . Im someone who has never dable outside of "normal" on mmo's, but i've been trying extremes on FF XIV and for someon like me thats a big deal. No matter how much i prepare or hoiw many guide i watch, the first time seing a mechanic im just fucking awful, i get the shackies and my rotation goes to hell. But once i've experienced it and know how to excuted what i learned then i can actually do it well. And you know what? im proud of myself, im probably garbage compared with actually good player but at least im finally given it a shot .

I'm happy for him. I haven't cleared any Ultimate, and this guy, who has played far less than me and joined much later, sat down, got himself a bomb-ass group, and cleared all of them. Did he get carried? Maybe. Does it matter, though? Does that really make his accomplishments any less amazing? He was at this for hours for fucking days. He was basically going at this like Day 1 prog. That's some real dedication, commitment, and sheer fucking will. That is something I just... don't have. And, y'know, say what you want, but you gotta admire the guy for that. He dropped a game that he had played for years and said, "Yes. I want to do this. I want to do this before the next expansion in this game that has welcomed me." Why are y'all mad? Sure, my parses may be better, but I don't got one of those fancy glowing weapons and a title to show for it. If he wants to get better parses, he absolutely has the ability to in time. Edit: 10:56 Shit, I get the shakies all the time from getting close to clearing EXs and Savages. I can't imagine how bad it would be for Ultimates.

Absolutely if we all had access to the seasoned players he had of course we would do the same. Fair play to him, I wonder how many viewers he had on his first stream ever ? Like him or hate him he worked to get where he is. Nobody handed it to him on a plate.

It's crazy to me how many people scoff it completely as "streamer privilege", like it's somekind of lucky thing to be born into like royalty. Yes, some are lucky, but it still takes talent, dedication and more to be a successful streamer, it's not all about having fun playing games and just being yourself with people, that does come with a lot of them, but you also see before these people became popular they had to adopt a personality to get any attention, to work hard to reach places or some weren't even the same confident person they ended up as by the end. It might just be me who see it this way, but I've felt the same with celebrity status. It's not my dream job and I wouldn't wanna turn my gaming hours into a job. There would be a ton of other anxiety about being consistent with it, streaming the right games, keeping a certain energy up for them and the addled brain of trying to be a good streamer and a good gamer, also the constant worry of am I doing enough? Am I stagnating in my entertainment? How can I grow and keep my audience? I think people ignore all this just as people ignore whatever made a celebrity become a celebrity, some may fit into this dream, but I think many can't see past the illusion. So someone like Rich clearing TEA can't really be compared to any of us, but also I wouldn't truly call it a privilege. For most of us reaching to his point isn't about "being lucky" but also working hard and seeing opportunities in building your audience, as well as some lacking the charisma or personality, but I have a strong belief just about anyone can gain that. Just as there are naturally talented artists and musicians, there are talented artists and musicians who started from nothing and became legends from sheer dedication to honing that skill. It's a hard situation to judge, just appreciate it and that it's a different world of raiding, cause when you raid you're worried about your performance in it and that's it. Maybe you got other stuff on your mind outside it, but that's about it. Big streamer also worries about entertaining thousands of people, where a whole pull you might be stuck thinking about something to say or bring up in the new few minutes. It's easy to judge the current point a big streamer is at and see it as privilege, without looking at where they started from, what they did to reach their current point and what goes on behind the screen.

We are not perfect. We have our fair share of bad apples just as much as any other community. They are just not doing it openly in the game but rather on their respective discord communities.

Well, actually you need all 8 people for heavensfall, you can cheese it with tank lb if 1 is dead, but i'm not sure if that counts, also blackfire with 7 people is way more annoying and also tenstrike. It can be done with 7 but more are probably gonna die then. So technically you need 8 ppl for many trios in Ucob if you dont cheese stuff with tank lb or are willing to sacrifice even more people. I dont think Rich got "carried" carried, but i do think that he got a bit carried by his partymembers dps. But he' learned the mechanics and he's done them. Ultimates are not just putting out godtier dps, it's more about masterjng difficult mechanics as a group. So yeah, i think he worked for it and ultimately he deserves the clear. Also took way longer than Ucob and Uwu so he had to suffer a bit haha and get "real" ultimate prog vibes.

1 thing i can't agree on is "triggers aren't cheating" yes, yes it is. Having an program literally call out the mechanic BEFORE it even happens, BEFORE you are suppose to know what mechanic the boss is gonna do is cheating. we've had someone in our static that was at 1st silent but then installed cactbot and started doing callout, he made the mistake of calling out an mechnic before it happened, we asked how he knew, he said he installed cactbot, we gave him 3 choices, either uninstal cactbot, keep quiet during raids or leave. he left, being able to react to an mechanic is another skill that things like triggers take away. like he used it in E11S. he would literally say "it'll be fire, stack up" before fire even appeared. Sure this isn't an major thing, but i've seen a friend use that in UCOB and called out the next mechanic before it happened so everyone was already in their positions before they were suppose to. not jealous Rich cleared it, haven't tried ultimate yet, will at some point, just an massive time investment that i'll get to at some point, good on him for clearing the fights atleast.

Narcicistic Elitists at their best. Any player, whether new or old have something specil called "POTENTIAL" it's cause of this "potential" that allows players to improve and hone their knowledge and skills. Elitists have the mindset that they are the only special bunch that can achieve the hardest content. But with enough time and effort anyone can. It's not comparing WoW players to FF14 players it's simply comparing the weak minded to the strong minded.
