my only issue with oblivion was it not being multithreaded for handling scripts. i still have my septum from the collector's edition. i still find it a lot of fun and some wilderness visual still hold up.

I feel like if they remaster it to look better than we think, but also update some things so only remaking parts that would benefit from it, then it could be a great idea. Also a remaster is better than nothing, it brings more people to the game and the original is still there if you don't like it, so win/win imo

I would be very surprised if they remake Oblivion with Skyblivion coming out this year. You'd have thought they'd have shut that mod down if they planned a remake and given Bethesda's recent record they could end up in total humiliation with Skyblivion being a major success and the remake an abject failure.

Skyrim has really good human models and faces. They age better than fallout 4’s, even if Fallout 4 has a more cohesive art style. I commend bethesda for the way skyrim looks.

Only thing I disagree here is that Skyrim aged worse than Oblivion (in terms of style). Oblivion's potato faces and stiff animations are infinitely worse than the stylized realism of Skyrim's character models and animations.

i think the only part of oblivions graphics that has aged particularly poorly are the character models but those looked ugly at launch, and i don't think they need fixing because they're so iconic and fun. if the remake has normal or even outright attractive characters i think something of value will be lost. a lot of the time i don't get the appeal of "bethesda jank" but i get it here. it's hilarious and people love it.

Oblivion graphics also did not age very well in terms of its environmental visual design. If you add better models, sure but it wont solve the main issue. The game was developed for the old hardware. So, the tech limitations prevented the developers from adding a lot of details all over the places. Nowadays this is no longer the case, so it can be held up to Skyrim's "quality" in that regard.

I’d love a remake of Oblivion and would happily buy it but I think Morrowind is far more in need of a remake/remaster. Its mechanics are so bad and it’s so outdated and it’s such a good game

Not intrested at all. Fallout 4 and Starfield were a back to back pathetic attempt at reigning in new players who enjoy graphics and lighting over gameplay. I have 0 faith in them. Until they fire Todd "players dont matter" howard and Emil "story doesnt matter" fagularo , well, it was good knowing them breifly

@croissant-destroyer evidence for this is FOLON making a more fallout 4 than fallout 4, with skill checks and stuff that they just forgot from 3 and New Vegas, but yeah idk. Maybe randomly they'll just make a really good game and listen to the fans. But that would mean acknowledging the faults, and they spent way too much to do that. That's why we don't understand gaming

@@shrigmamale1841 Magic in Skyrim sucks, it's true. But the magic system in Skyrim is awesome. Probably the best in the series. For it to work properly, people need to rebalance the numbers. Adding spell crafting would also be amazing. Adding more spells would be necessary too, sure. But the baseline that is Magic in Skyrim is sooo goooood. Twick it here and there and you'll get one of the most amazing systems in games to date.
