Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Is A Beautiful Mess

After playing Monolith Soft & Nintendo's Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition, we move on to the sequel Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I have a lot of thoughts on this game.

I can't stand XB2. I really want it to drop the Xeno title. It stands as an argument against life.... I like the ending, I like some of the themes it explores (mostly towards the end again), I like some of the music, I like the battle system towards the end of the game........ Maybe a total remake of the game could redeem it in my mind.

A lot of the story beats in 2 were spoiled for me, mostly because before I played it, I both didn't think I'd get to play it, but I also had some... unflattering, and honestly quite mislead misconceptions. Coming out of it, I do honestly really love the game, and a lot of those misconceptions have been removed. But, then I got hit with new issues. I don't mind the rng blades, because I've already experienced low drop rates for specific things. I've played Monster Hunter for years, and if you've played it you know how hard it is to get rarer materials. Field skills are, by far, the worst mechanic a Xenoblade game has ever had
