what does a common variety gamer even say about this game? it's beautiful. it destroyed me. i will never be the same.
@Kuuribro11 ай бұрын
I came in already knowing I would be destroyed, because I was used to it from 1 and 2. Like moved across the world to try and pursue a career with this studio level of destroyed, the life I had wasnt satisfying to me on introspection, actually shattered my whole life lol So that bit in the intro about "Am I on the right path" and choosing your destiny - really felt that part. Man, I WISH I had friends as into this as you are to chat with in real life! Xenoblade is one of the few things that gets me energized and I can talk about it for hours

I get what you mean about this game making it difficult to process the decisions of your own life. It's an emotionally draining game in a way that I've never experienced in any other media. It is incredible for being able to explore themes in such a way that it hits so hard and makes you think about life in general. It's the height of what art can achieve.

You are a person who dives into fiction completely and feels and contemplates deeply and this game is one of those games that has so much depth that you can easily become lost in the darkness. I feel for you in that regard. I appreciate you being so careful about the way you speak about your experience with the game. You have a wonderful heart from what I've seen

Completely understand where you’re coming from with your comments in the intro. Without going into a lot of unnecessary detail, this game released at a really tough point in my life (probably the hardest yet). I was looking forward to playing the game to get some fun escapism not realizing what an emotional experience I was about to be presented with. The themes of the story and the arcs of the characters hit me like a freight train and really helped me to process a lot of my own thoughts on my life. Noah’s journey in particular mirrored some aspects of my life to an almost scary degree lol. It was a lot to take in, but I honestly grew a lot as a person from this game. I never really understood it when people said a game changed their lives, but now I get it. I can honestly say this game helped shape me as a person and the path I’ve chosen to take in life going forward. Such a powerful story, it’s a shame it’s not more popular. Absolutely my favorite game of all time.

Using fantasy themes to cope with real life is a very healthy approach, I actually recommend it to some people as a psychologist. Now, the key is to use that space to keep yourself together, to get your strength back so you can keep living. The problem comes when these fantasy worlds take your real life from you. When you replace one for the other. That's the problem. Keeping a relatively small space of your life to experience these worlds and cope with real problems, that's not only healthy, that's a great coping mechanism. You should exploit it.

Hi i just discovered your channel and heared about how you felt about this game. I lost my mother last year (she had a cancer) and i played xenoblade 3 while she was fighting that disease. Chapter 5 ending broke me like no other fiction did but it also healed me because that game made me feel that it's possible to make other feel what you kinda feel when you are in this situation. And it made me feeled i'm not alone.
@keeysOST11 ай бұрын
The intro was extremely relatable. I'm a person that struggles to form relationships with people, so I've felt lonely for most of my life, and JRPGs (especially Xenoblade) help be kind of cope when things get extremely tough. I remember crying really hard t the end of chapter 5 because I knew how it felt to feel so helpless md absolutely destroyed in the inside. This is why I loved Noah as a protagonist so much, the entire scene leading up to the climax of chapter 5 just felt too real. Even t the end, Nohs little monologue before the game ends has stuck with me since beating the game, and it's a quote I think back on everytime things start feeling helpless again.
@Ralizah11 ай бұрын
You know the writers are doing something right when the game hits you that hard. I was similarly moved by it at the time. Stuff has happened in my life since that makes it hit even harder when I revisit it via the playthroughs of others. While it might have been uncomfortable to play this live in front of an audience like you did, given how weighty it is, it's definitely a good thing that you're connecting with its messaging this strongly. I'm sure the wizards at Monolith would be thrilled to know how moving their masterpiece is to people all over the world.
@joseedil8 ай бұрын
Honestly, Xeno 3 also gave me some existencial dread, but I think I have a predisposition to find silver linings in life in general and that helped me with everything, also, I can quite relate to the general idea of dreading change (Covid was rough for me) so the message of the game actually help me pick up the pieces quite a lot. I think this game more than the other 2 is more about the “walk on” than “picking your chosen horizon” and how we should not let fear paralyze us and I just get inspired bc Noah and company have like a horrible hand but even so are capable of facing the uncertainties along the journey. At least that is how I relate with the story of this game.

I remember being on the train, bored, when you started the first stream of this game, and I went "f yeah this is the best thing that could happen in the new year" lol. Then I was actually thinking how you could have reacted to the flute performance at TGA if you had played this game before that, and about 3 hours later I got my answer. Your opening is genuine and thoughtful as always. We all experience things differently, what works for one person doesn't necessarily for another, so it's especially powerful when someone can state your own ideas probably better than you ever would. People jokingly talk about the "Xenoblade brainrot" but for me at least this game is more than simple fascination. I feel lucky that something can do this to me and please let me live through that vicariously through your videos lol. Please keep up the good work and hopefully we all get our therapy bills reimbursed by Monolith sometime. Ideally by Xenoblade 4 but I don't even know at this point.

this game is one of the best sum of what Nintendo proposes with their videogames and a perfect answer to those who state "Nintendo is for child, their games are childish". It is enjoyable for children (my 10 y.o. son LOVES it), but it is SO and adult game. It talks about subjects that go so beyond the figths, the levelling and the world building (what children can enjoy about this game). It talks about DEATH, CHANGING, FEAR OF THE FUTURE. These are the main topics of each and every child, that becomes a teenager, that becomes an adult. These are the subject of LIFE. Excuse me if it is not enough... This game is simply Awsome. I am so glad it could hit you so deep, as it did with me. Maybe, my favourite of the series remains the first game, but this is so a great contender for the gold.

Oh I'm so sorry... I think, personally I've not experienced enough in life yet, for this game to have it be truly life-ruining for me. I still care deeply about it, it's my favorite Xenoblade, and one of my favorite games just period, but I've lived my life despondent and lost, scared of the world, I've been a shut in for a long time, so I haven't experienced much of the world. In a way I am really lucky. I've not lost anyone yet, other than pets and lost opportunities, i don't have grief to process. But still hear me out. This game, it's a lot... it makes you think about how to live your life in a way you won't regret. It forces you to face that you could be gone at any point, that anyone around you could leave you behind. That. That's really powerful. Make connections, don't chase eternity, just move forward, learn about yourself and the world, learn to love and be loved. To make the first step and live your life to the fullest. It's not a lesson I've been able to fully implement yet, but it's a reminder, that life can only start with me, and that i have to treasure the people i love and the memories i have to the fullest, to make the most of the time I've got. That's Xenoblade 3 to me. Accept change, don't stagnate.

Yet I can already tell that this is one I'm going to feel particularily glad to watch. I cannot say I can relate to the feelings you describe even in the slightest, and that's what makes it all the more interesting to me. So hearing how much it has impacted you on such a profound level makes me want to know more about your perspective on it, your feelings towards it and how you experienced your playthrough. Xenoblade 3 did a good job making people retrospective onto themselves...This can be a extremely hard thing to do but its almost never a bad thing in the end. You ask yourself questions of "What is the meaning of my life?", "What is my purpose?", "Is it all meaningless?". Some of these questions will hit hard because in the end we spend a bunch of our life spinning our wheels wasting time without ever looking at what makes us truly happy... just doing what others expect of us.

Some of your comments during the playthrough have such dramatic irony, I'm so excited for you to be surprised by how right some of your jokes were. I'm just beginning to watch so at the moment you're having fun with the playthrough, but I know from your intro the experience was not all positive. It's certainly a game with very tragic and oppressive themes to the story, which could be very intense to someone who's very empathetic and feels deeply for the characters. With the state of our own world being pretty upsetting these past many years as well, that could probably add to the effect. Thanks for sharing this and being open and honest about mental health. Keep doing what you're doing! I also don't know if you played the DLC but it's phenomenal. You may have a more positive experience with that.

While this entire series (and especially 3) can be bleak at times and deals with a lot with people having to deal with terrible circumstances, in my opinion the core theme of the series in hope in the face of all of that. Hopefully that message can help someone struggling with things after some of the bleak parts of these games. Spoilers Below Xenoblade 1: Hope in the face of inevitability, fate, destiny (Does my life even matter or have purpose, can I even change anything?) Villain: Zanza. Xenoblade 2: Hope in the face of the terrible things humans do and experience (Does this world/humanity deserve to continue?) Villains: Amalthus, Malos, Jin Xenoblade 3: Hope in the face of progress, the unknown, doubt, (existential) fear, death (Will things ever get better? Or only worse?) Villains: Z, N, J This is an oversimplification of course, as these themes appear across all of the games. Xeno 3 especially covers all of these things (Shania like Amalthus, etc). A lot of this is summed up quite well in Future Redeemed. Ultimately the message in all of these games is that yes, we can do better, we do have purpose, we can overcome our worst instincts and desires. Even if we mess up, it is worth trying and trying again. Even those mistakes and regrets have worth, as we can learn from them. Even if we can't accomplish it all in time, we can pass it on to our loved ones to continue towards our dreams in the future.
@jacobmonks372210 ай бұрын
The Xeno games, for as depressing and heartbreaking as they might be at times, are about optimism. They spit in the face of nihilism multiple times, they challenge the player to question the purpose of their decisions, and they remain hopeful about the future that the next generation will create. They are a shining beacon of positivity in a world that feels chaotic and cynical. They truly are works of art and I love them dearly.

She streamed it a while back but deleted all vods and evidence of it. She pretty much hated it which is a shame. Some people aren't able to look deeper than surface level stuff. I believe she played the whole thing but I didn't catch the stream of her finishing the final battle. she didn't take the story seriously at all and actively ignores most things about 2 and doesn't acknowledge that she played it. Kind of odd to me but to each their own I guess.

@@AgClAgClI honestly can’t blame her for not like it the game out of the trilogy even the franchise as a whole it really did go over board with a lot of teenager horny fan service in your F face and not only that the gatcha system slowing down story progression slow ass gamplay After I was done with it unlike 1 and 3 I never play Xeno 2 ever again Oh right and don’t even get me started on the klaus unnecessary RETCONs that are jarring as hell 😒

@@AgClAgCl i didn't liked XBC 2 when i played, i came to appreciate it more seen another streamer play it. The fanservice wat to much fot me so i couldn't take it seriously so i never conected with any characters, and a story where you don't really care for the protagonist is a empty one, no matter how good it is if you don't feel invested it means nothing to you, and you won't enjoy it. My friend played XBC 2 before playing or knowing of XBC 1 and she LOVED IT like, really really love, while i despised bcs to me it made a joke of the franchise. Now i like XBC 2, i still love 1 more and 3, but i can't say that 2 have a message bcs to a lot of people it is special. Sorry for the long rant but i can see why she didn't like it specially after seen her battle with sharla's outfits which compared with xeno 2 whole roast of female characters designs is a lot tamed haha, so yeah, is a shame but i see where she was coming from. Also rex been a kid protagonist also made me feel icky all the time with pyra been portrait like an adult so there is that too

If Chapter 1 hit you this hard, you might want tissues, or a therapist, because you are in for a sparkin' RIDE 😬😤

Shame the Ouroboros iris bugged in that cutscene, haha.

It's not unusual at all for you to be emotionally disrupted by this game. People think Z's "because it amuses me" line is just lazy motivation, but it really solidifies him as an allegory for those who leech the motivation to live off of struggling people they only observe through a screen.

It's one of my favourite games. I hope it doesn't cause anything negative long-term.

N in this game really helped me realize something that when you love someone you have yo let them go that holding onto something that won't happen will destroy you "my mio" didn't die or anything she just decided that what I offered she didn't want any more and moved on. And that me trying to convince her to stay did more harm then good

That can be hard to come to terms with, but good on you for learning and growing!

@saschb yea it was very hard but I learnt to be better to myself as well I was willing to forgive and forget someone cheating on me if it meant she would stay

Do you have a vod channel somewhere that I haven't found? I love these edited clips, but they take such a long time to come out and I'd like to watch full streams. They're gone from Twitch pretty fast. You've very quickly become one of my favourite people to watch, but I have no way of watching most of your content.
