For those wondering, the fact that the cutscenes look a bit "off" is fairly standard practice for most JRPG's and is just a side effect of the games being so damn long. Since the game's models have seen such a glow up, the fact that the animations are still somewhat stilted can take some adjusting to. However, it should be noted that the voice acting from the original Wii release has not been remastered. But, 13 hours of voice acted dialogue is something even Persona 5 can't compare to.

@@magnoelcabiadito XC2 suffered from poor direction in terms of voice acting, the VAs are great in other games, but the director gave them scripts without even letting them look at the scene they were acting in sometimes. If there had been actual communication between direction and VAs they'd have gotten character emotions and lip movements a lot more accurately. Sad to know that potential was wasted

The reason the cutscenes look "off" is because they only animations they changed from the Wii are in the facial bone structures of the models. Everything else is the same as the OG Wii, with some NPC models even being direct ports. That's also why FC's very few action scenes look astronomically smoother

Watch the Xenoblade 2 movie as well if you haven’t already. I wasn’t planning to watch this one, but after seeing Xenoblade 2, knowing this story is a must for me (most people say the story in 1 is better than in 2). I’m looking forward to it! I definitely appreciate good stories.

No, its just that nintendo games suffer in quality compared to PS for example. They look as though the wii animations have gone unchanged in 10 years. Imagine what that was like for the Wii and the DS, I remember there were some cases of the Wii not loading the game properly or something like that, and this game was made in 2010 along with the remaster version for the DS in 2015. And I was blown away by the amount of hours I played alone only when entering the mechonis's arm in the 3ds.

Xenoblade 2 on the other hand is a travesty compared to the original. It's not bad but I've never seen many franchises fall off this hard.
