Its a plastic based product with a pigment. Current toners aka DryInk+™ is not a carcinogenic or readily absorbed through the skin with contact. However inhalation or getting into the eyes can be a irritation factor. If you know the part number of the toner in question, you can download the data sheet from the Xerox website.
