Ive got an XF ute turbo SOHC e85 310 rwkw. Stock bottom end, its getting tired being in the car 5 years, getting a bit more blow by than i would like. I might barra swap instead of rebuild. And get a good auto because im sick of swapping out T5's lol. I only just stumbled on these videos, can't wait to watch when i have time.

Hey guys , if thats a mamba banjo fitting be sure to check to see if the holes are exposed when you look through the an4 male, I bought one and the banjo was too thick was blocking most of the holes on the oil feed for turbo

What do you miss the most? the door handles that broke every week, the sagging front bumper bars or the asthmatic 250ci?

NICE VIDEO, i read somewhere that Garrett turbo's can have oil in and out at a maximum of 20* off 90* but in a perfect world 90* is ideal.

Take that little oil filter out that you left in the fitting in the block, you don’t need 2 in the oil line, the filter in the line will be fine

An old Mechanic once told me when the engine is put back together and you have to clean gaskets off the block to tie a piece of string onto a piece of rag and put it in the hole that way if you do drop it in and nothing else with it you can pull it back out. Also can anyone tell me other than weak rods and oil pump on the BA BARRA what other weaknesses the BA has compared to the FG series of engines.

You HAVE to remove that little filter in the oil feed as they're responsible for lunching many many turbos. They block easily and starve the turbo. Definitely get an inline filter from your preferred supplier. I fitted one on my channel if you want a look 👌

@shane that's not entirely correct. They've caused turbo failures since the xr6 turbo began. If you're in the community you'd be aware that it's a critical design flaw. Cleaning isn't adequate.

@@denisjovanovic7781 I don't question Shane' s knowledge however the facts regarding the xr6 turbo failure are far greater evidence than one man's opinion. Look into the forums, talk to the specialists in this specific area and they'll all agree that the design is flawed.
