@@ModelAV8RChannel Hi Adam, I just got one of the X-Fly A-10s. I cant get the servos to move or get the throttle working . I have a brand new Spektrum AR631receiver and brand new 4S 30C battery . The receiver is powered up and bound to the transmitter which is a DX6. I have done a factory reset on the Xmitter and confirmed its in basic airplane mode, not heli mode. Do you have any pointers? By the way I do not have the wings attached yet so the aileron servo leads are not connected to servos.

I bought this plane a couple of months ago. When hand launching, it similar to throwing a spear, slight angle up, Safe on. For landings, I coated parts of the bottom with 30 minute epoxy. For the front, I bought some heavy spring wire and bent it into a shallow hook, ground part of if flat to utilize the nose gear mount and lock it place. This keeps the nose out of the ground and at least I can keep the gun in place. The little pod was wiped out on my second flight. She's heavy but I love how the plane flies, to me she's a EDF version of a P-51.
@ModelAV8RChannel Жыл бұрын
Seems heavy like you said, but that is one way to do it. It should come with plastic on the bottom in a few spots. Still, awesome airplane!

Another plane that your skills made shine, Adam! I wish there was more appreciation out there for quality content like yours, that come with a lot of good background info and more of a documentary style, rather than commercial. Stay with this presentation, it is a very welcome contrast to other channels, where the audience is overstimulated with ‘awesome’ shouts and how much fun the plane is. I hope your channel will get the attention that it deserves, very soon! Now, after all the praise, a final comment on the A10 😅: Even a single EDF can turn a battery into a handwarmer, so, the actual surprise is, that the dual EDF don’t make it burst into flames. 😂 One might guess, that such discharge cycles might make LiPos age dramatically. (Like frequently charge at 5C - it won’t explode, but don’t be surprised if it only reaches half the advertised cycles.) Amazing, how much of an impact the landing gear has! You were right with all you said, but I found it very noticeable/impressive, how much faster the A10 flew without it. Is this also some EDF typical characteristic? Haven’t noticed this as much on a prop plane. I personally think, that there is little that is more graceful, like a well performed take off or landing on a gear, but for the sake of flight performance, I would probably leave it off most of the times - and certainly copy your launching aid 😊 👍🏻. Great job and very helpful recommendations. Thank you!
@ModelAV8RChannel Жыл бұрын
Wow Alexander, thanks man! Really appreciate that. We're going to keep plugging along! It does move on out with the gear off. I've seen that big of a difference before, but it is sporadic, not really an attribute of only one plane type.
@jollyroger2226 Жыл бұрын
Great review! I don't have an EDF jet. I like longer flight times and I like my batteries to keep working well. Does anyone have a feel for any loss of performance as these type batteries continue to make 'jet' flights? Thanks, and this does look like a capable and fun jet.
@ModelAV8RChannel Жыл бұрын
Thanks very much! EDF's are harder on batteries for sure. As far as how many cycles you get vs and propeller driven plane, not sure. I imagine less, but by how much no idea. In my mind flying jets is another skill set and type of plane to enjoy. Depending on how you fly, how good your batteries are, and how well you take care of them getting a lot of cycles is possible.

what would be the first step up for an a10 model with actual rudders?

Adam, one very Comprehensive review of the Xfly A10 - but you did forget to say one thing - "DO NOT DO WHAT FT DID - make sure you strap you battery down "!.. if you don't - give yourself 1.5 mins of wonderful flying time and watch it smash into the ground because the battery moved all the way into the nose !!!! - it is then fit for the trash 😞
