Congrats! Thx for sharing. I ha ve a xfx 6800 xt, today my pc won't boot and my motherboard diag led say 'vga'... Leds on graphic card turn on and fan spinning but no signal on screen😮 Any idea?

At this point it is difficult to say. If you use a CPU with graphics can you boot through the internal graphics and check if the GPU is detected? The first step is to check if the card is detected or not detected everything else will follow after that.

Have you resolved this? If not let us know what else you have tried. One tip I can suggest is confirm if you use DisplayPort on the monitor, and try to connect to HDMI instead and restart the PC, if it then boots properly. If it doesn't then definitely check other steps but if somehow you notice it does, then try if connecting via DisplayPort again works. If this is the case, you may need to seek how to tape one specific DisplayPort pin to prevent power issues causing the temporary boot issue.

Maan that is nice!!! I didnt know there was common faults within this card. I have this exact model and has a no detect problem as well and has all the voltages present but all the waveforms in the oscilloscope looks distorted. where do i check further to find the root cause of this fault?

Did you check the SOC rail? This is the only DRMOS with SIC DRMOS and all others are IOR. Check if this chip is outputting and voltage. Even if all other chips have voltage this chip might be missing voltage. Check if it's missing. If it's missing check this resistor at the back. This zero ohm resistor is know to burn out. Causing the SOC rail to go missing even though all other voltages are present even the core will be present.

xfx 5700xt 6pin are has a red indicator. sometimes boot sometime no display

If your card sometimes boots and otherwise does not, i assume it's a loose connection on the 6 pin. Red light at the back of the card near the 6 pin or 8 pin means break in connectivity between the circuit and the connector. This light also turns on when the fuse blows but if it's intermittent then it's good. Check for loose connection.

Hi, thanks for this video.I have a question if you don't mind me asking. I have this exact card and had an issue trying to take it apart to repaste and repad (really high hotspot temps). It seemed like there were additional screws holding it together no matter how hard I tugged to seperate the pcb and cooler. I took off 10 total on the backplate (4 for the cooler/die contact and the 6 surrounding for the cooler, see 0:16 frame). Are there any additional fasterners or was I simply not tugging at it enough? I've repasted and repadded many gpu's at this point in time and haven't encountered anything like this. Thank you in advance

For the front cooler to come off it's only the screws on the back of the GPU. To remove the black frame inside there are many screws including 3 on the IO plate. to remove the back plate there are 2 screws on the PCB as well, on either side of the GPU core.

Make sure you are holding only the cooler and not the black frame. The black frame is attached to the PCB from inside. The cooler needs to be removed first. Then the black frame.

@@GraphicsCardRepairs-tk7ql Will do. I'll give it a try again tomorrow or the day after and will report back with how it goes. I'm going to run furmark for 10 minutes or so prior to the attempt to hopefully loosen any adhesion from the thermal pads as well.

For someone who might be attempting this fix as well, what was the new resistor you replaced the broken one with? Which size and rating of 0 OHM surface mount resistor?

The one I replaced is a 0 Ohm 1206 size resistor.

There is no watts rating. 0 ohm 1206 size. Best resistors are which have less than 5% variation.

Possible memory issues. It's a chance. I as a customer would stay away from such GPUs. As a technician I would buy for parts only.

I got a 6800xt I clean the pcb with rubbing alcohol with a q tips and now it gives me a code 99 on asus

Cleaning with q-tip is a bad idea. Possibly may have knocked off some component.
