With a population of over 12 million, it is the capital of Shaanshi province and the 3rd largest city in western China. My story so far........
Bouncing around North America and Asia, I've never lived anywhere too long. I found my calling as a teacher and ended up staying in Korea and China for many years. While I've had the chance to explore Europe, places I consider home are Washington DC, Seoul, Beijing, Memphis, and Columbus. After 20 years of exploring, I'm ready to share my adventures and wanderlust. If you are really interested in history, there are quite a few museums and historical spots to visit there. They are the most priceless and the oldest artifacts in there. Some of them are free of charge.

You can take the subway Nr9 to Huaqingchi, then change to bus to Terracotta Warriors. In fact, the subway can be build to the Terracotta Warriors, but for the purpose of protecting cultural relics, it is only build to Huaqingchi. Who knows what other artefacts are underground?

@At Home Anywhere, to be exact and precise, the spelling should be Xi'an or Xi'An, where the apostrophe denotes a glottal stop, making sure whoever enunicate the spellling as Xi and An, distinctly, without any glide from Xi into An, making it errouneous soundling like "shian".

A related example is the lunar module that China sent to the moon -- Chang'e, which is a bit more difficult for most people who isn't equipped with the proficiency of the Chinese language. Again this apostrophe also denotes a glottal stop, making Chang and E two distinct syllables, where the E does NOT really exist in English. A close approximate for this E is something like a schwa, like the "a" in the initial "a" in "away." While the initial "a“ in "away" is never stressed, yet the "e" in Chang'e takes on full strength as "Chang" when eunicated -- simply put this ”e" is a stressed schwa (NOT pronouced as a long E in English).

There was so much to try there and sadly I wasn't able to. I did eat a lot of noodles with meat in Xian. I look forward to going back again and trying more of the foods they have to offer.

muslim street is too touristy, it's better to hunt food at residential areas and eat like locals...
