For more information about booking hotel in China, you can use Trip.com, all hotels are foreign passport friendly, and you can use it to book bullet train ticket. I was using Chinese booking website, so Airbnb stuff don't work for foreign passport.

if the hotel rejects foreigner, you can call 110 , if the policeman come, they will speak to hotel management team to let you sign in, because, a few months ago, Beijing has issued policy that no hotel can reject foreigners, and probably some small hotels do not get the notice yet. the policeman can help out.

All hotels big or small, in big cities or small towns in China have the same computer software connected to the government, the hotel software is designed and programmed by the government and is made to enter foreign passport information as well as Hong Kong and Macau Entry Permit Card info, and Taiwan resident travel permit info. Hotels that refuse to.accept non-mainland Chinese violate the law, you should called or get the police to the hotel to sort it out.

Actually we did called the police, and end up the police helped us found another hotel …nothing could be done by that time, felt exhaust after the flight just didn’t want to argue

@@aiden_qiuu Some local police officers don't do their jobs properly or they may not know the laws well, I know because I experienced an issue which the police station didn't know about that particular law, the department in charge of that issue was on long holiday, many different police officers on duty each told me a different thing but none of them told me there is a department for this issue and it would be back in service after the long holiday, I found out about that department by accident, I was waiting for a taxi ride outside the station then I noticed that department next to the police building, but it was closed. Finally, everything was resolved on the first day the department opened. It took me several visits to the police station to resolve that matter, but if the police officers had told me about that department and admitted they didn't know the law then I could have saved a lot of time and work.
