Hi Tony, been following you for a while. Love your videos. Part of the reason I stumbled across your page is I’m a wheelchair user and I was waiting to get an attachment called a Batec which effectively turns my chair into an electric trike and gives me a bit of mobility and independence back. I’ll need to bend your ear to see if it can be “Tonyfied” to give it a bit more grunt LOL! It does about 20mph and has similar range.

Again..V interesting . How well does that Aftermarket BMS do at balancing the cells .. such performance seems rare with (cheap) built ins. Alternate would be to use a Quality external Battery charger station (not inexpensive) as well as a nuisance everytime one charged. Could you develope a battery unit that will run Small Computer and Display for 14 days +, if I provide the power requirements? Or if you could guide me through the project as I am not an electrician, nor do I have all of your required test equipment. Most Humble Appreciation, Alton
@brookerobertson29515 жыл бұрын
Running just one 100 watt light with an inverter will take loads of batteries so high cost... If it's a full pc your best bet is a generator. Honda make one of the best small one's that's quiet.. or just run a tablet PC with a car battery as your power bank.. you'd just need a 12v to usb module.. and I think you'll get a few months of run time..
@footydoyouremember5 жыл бұрын
As Brooke has said a generator would probably be better.... Small computer and monitor will probably pull 350+ watts so let's say 350 watts per hour x 24 x 14 days... Will tell you how many KWhr you will need... It would be easier to come on the forum and ask the question, we can then thrash out what you would need better
@Vortecks5 жыл бұрын
Something like the GIGABYTE GB-BXBT-2807 draws a max of 15W which means you can run one for 24 hours (at 100% load) on a 30Ah battery. That doesn't take into account a monitor, keyboard and mouse. To run the same system for 14 days would need a 420Ah battery. Personally, I'd do what's already been said and get a mini generator 😁
@smartassist97005 жыл бұрын
So a bank of 20 LION 18650 batteries, and find a power regulator dispersing 2 to 5amp outputs would give 2.5 to 3 weeks. I could fit into custom made laptop type case (ALL ITEMS). (Displays are low voltage 1024x1280 screens). Is there a voltage regulator that has knobs to dial output? Also 2 or 3 outputs per regulator? I'll create 6 spares with batteries to use while on long travel.
@footydoyouremember5 жыл бұрын
@@smartassist9700 Hi Alton, If tony's calculations are correct and i know he will have worked it out quite well, So you are going to need the following... working on a 95% efficinecy of the inverter.... you will need 84 x 26650 Li-50A cells to make up 1 string of 3.7v and then if you are making it a 24v system 7 x 84 to get the voltage - 588 cells in total... at a cost of £30 per 10 cells - an inverter rated at the highest efficiency possible or you would need more cells to compensate for the percentage loss in conversion from DC - AC, if you were doing this kind of system then i would look at converting an APC UPS from the lead acid battery bank and adding the 588 cells as above...
