As you've already had many Xiaomi phones in your hands, did you experience burn-in issues with the screens after a longer period of time (6 months or more)? Do they get their panels from Samsung? Still fighting with myself whether I should better go with an IPS display again, as I am usually keeping my phones longer than 2 years. Keep up the good work! :)

Xiaomi only uses Samsung oled panels, only Samsung produces AMOLED panels. The oled panels of LG are called P-OLED and BOE just calls them oled panels. Id just stay away from phones with LG panels.

It's not really a notch. It's a small teardrop where the camera resides. You can not hide it but it is so minimal.

Thanks! The company updates their phones constantly, but it’s typically to their own Android skin MIUI 10. I tend to recommend the Global ROM for most people as it includes multiple language support beyond English, has preinstalled Google apps, and has HD Netflix (L1 Security Level for CDM Widevine) support.

Well, battery size isn't everything. The phone has a 7nm chip and since it's their flagship, Xiaomi probably would optimize it as best as they could but we'll just have to wait for Frankie's reply.

it charges faster wireless than some phones with cable charging. There is even a wireless charger for your car. So I think the durability would not be a big issue. Just leave it on the charger whenever you are not using it.

More effective SnapDragon 855 processor, 27W Quick Charging and 20W wireless car charging could settle your worries regarding the battery issues. And I personally using wireless headphones so 3.5mm jack is not a problem

Maybe a dumb question but how does the fingerprint reader work without turning the display on. Can I just put my finger down and it'll work (with screen off?)

it unlocks the screen. thus you can use your finger print to unlock the screen instead of drawing a pattern on the screen. it can also be set up such that both finger print and pattern drawing is needed to unlock the screen for added security.

Imaginix55 hi, thx for your response. I know that but I wasn't really sure if I have to activate the display before I can unlock with my fingerprint. In this video, there's a fingerprint symbol lighting up when he hovers over the screen (when it's off). Turning on the screen every time I want to unlock the phone would be an extra step. I'm asking myself how the phone recognized the finger when he was just above the glas of the screen (right when this fingerprint symbol lit up)

Thanks bro! I personally don’t like the Mix 3 because I don’t like sliders at all. I think they create more compromises than are worth it just to remove the notch. Now with the Mi 9 I’m even more convinced that I was right. The Mi 9 is a far better option with next gen 855, 48 MP camera and just nicer overall look while being thinner and lighter. Just a go for me over the Mix 3 (or even the upcoming Mix 3 5G)

If you freeze frame at 8:28 you can see the software notch softening briefly disappear and I have to admit it does make a difference. Still a notch remains a notch, which I personally see as a big blemish on a phone, that I would've already bought otherwise.
