Thanks for this comprehensive review. I got this Mi watch two weeks ago in the Netherlands. Good watch indeed with very nice watch faces, lots of functionality, bright display and good battery life. However, things Xiaomi should add on short term in firmware / app: customizable activity display (e.g. show your speed in stead of pace when outdoor running, like you can do with the Amazfit Stratos 2); support upload activities to Strava and shorten the lock-in time for GPS (now ± 30 seconds).

Hi H Coenen, do you mind sharing how accurate the GPS is in measuring outdoor runs. How long can the battery last with GPS on and tracking run activities? Is the running data able to be downloaded to a PC and then to runkeeper or Strava etc ? Thinking of getting it to monitor my outdoor run activities, so anything you could share about it is useful. @@moonrei69 based on my two week experience, running three times a week 7 - 10 kilometers, hart monitoring always (24/7) on the battery last about 8 - 10 day's. Compared with my Amazfit Stratos 2 watch GPS seems accurate, they both give same route and beeps are at sync every 1 km. Not found any way to export GPS data, which is the main negative of this watch. Hope Xiaomi will fix this soon!

Hi Lim, good review. I want to ask something about the watch. Is it capable to use multiple apps at the same time? For example starting a stopwatch for measure something and than pressing a back and start a timer or check current heartrate etc. and later go back to stopwatch and check time elapsed. I'm thinking of buy a smartwatch and can't choose between Huawei watch gt 2e and Mi watch. Because GT2e can do this multitasking thing but the notification manage is a mess, but Mi watch is good in notification management but I don't know does it can the multitasking. Mine arrived today, for €100 it's a bargain. Feels really comfortable and it's super light, so it will be ideal for running, walking, swimming etc. GPS tested on a hike and it was very accurate. Sadly it does not sync to Strava which was almost a dealbreaker but I couldn't afford a Garmin and thought the Amazfit was a bit naff. Also, I wish it had an autopause feature during workouts for when doing intervals or waiting at traffic lights. However, for a first smart/fitness watch im very pleased with it.

This or GTR 2. Because the price different is just about rm40 (based on Dasher) and GTR 2 got more features such as inbuilt mic, storage and speakers. I will wait for next week update by Lim whether Xiaomi Mi watch is good or not especially in term of battery. I heard Amazfit GTR 2 got problem with battery (doesn't last long like what Amazfit advertise).

On other hand, Mi watch might give more reliable results for fitness tracking (just speculating based on reviews of Mi band) I suggest you to wait for detailed review by Lim on Mi watch and then you compare detailed review of GTR which Lim did few week ago

They're technically all under Xiaomi's umbrella so parts might be similar. I'm not seeing any difference in terms of heart rate measurement. But in terms of GPS, this locks on quicker than the other 2 u mentioned.
