@9:25 jello, Xilonen makes it so Hu Tao can stay under 50% HP. You use this rotation “Xilonen Q, Furina QE, Xilonen E2N, Yelan QE (catch particles), Hutao combo”. The entire team except for Hu Tao should get healed. It’s very consistent in my experience. If you do switch to Hu Tao too early Furina will tick her back

I start hutao Q then xilonen E (crystallize only for 40% Pyro) then Q then furina Q E then yelan E Q ( to catch particles) then switch to xilonen ( her skill should be ready by now at least in my case else I use sacrificial.) Now xilonen E 2NA to buff furina yelan too. By now xilonen 's Q is gone so hutao wouldn't get healed and will remain under 50% hp getting 33% Pyro DMG bonus as well as having 8 seconds worth of 40% Pyro DMG bonus.

I use my Hu Tao on a team named "Storytellers". It switches out Yelan for Xingqiu in a team with Furina and Charlotte. You have Hu Tao the poet, Xingqiu the novelist, Furina the actress, and Charlotte the reporter. You can also call them "Legs" if you want to be funny.

For new players considering Hu tao as their main or that want to have her as a dps: I'm the owner of one of the best built Hu tao in the world atm, and I've tested A LOT of options with her. (ill TRY to keep this simple and direct) Hu taos best team for a brand new player is Furina with Xianyun/Jean, and its not even close. Furina and Xianyun core is mega value for your account. The 4th slot is Yelan or Xingqiu, there are scenarios where Xingqiu is acc better for you so dont feel like Yelan is a must pull for this team to work, sometimes shes a downgrade for him. Best team in terms of use of play and dmg and versatility of Single target and AOE. Xilonen as off rn during her release is BAIT for Hu tao teams, it only rly buffs the Furina & Yelan of the team and makes you to want to pull for Yelan instead of using Xingqiu for the extra dmg. ( for some this might be a good thing if they need Xingqiu in the other team) However for Hu tao teams its clunky and your dmg is at best slightly better for Single target which Hu tao already has PLENTY as one of the best single target dps in the game. Hu tao is not quite a beginner f2p friendly char due to her wanting alot of 5 stars to work at her best lvl but what the least investment for a respectable team that would still be her best performing team would be the following: Hu tao -c0 ( "homa" could be the most useful wep here but 4 star options suffice, homa is a bigger dps increase over c1(yes nerds the calcs prove it) but it locks u into plunge playstyle ) Furina -c0 ( fav or fishing wep are BEYOND fine for Furina ) Xingqiu -C(whatever u have for cons but for him they are all good) ( Sacrificial Sword is bis for him here by a solid margin refine it) Xianyun/Jean ( Fav works great here too, due to likely lack of favs, atk boosting weps for Jean sufice like "Amenoma Kageuchi" , same for Xianyun like "Eye of Perception" As for non Furina teams the only recommendation I don't find cope is Hu tao, Yelan, Xingqiu , Zhongli ( there are other options like vv vape which will do more dmg but are more annoying to play and some other more obscure options but there's a reason double hydro Zhongli is the main core from back when Yelan released) However I don't recommend using non Furina variants even though it most definitely works and clears abyss just fine. Hu tao is one of the best dps users of Furina, only rly truly beaten out by Neuvillette teams You really don't want 2 furina teams as ur two 1st main teams so there are few better options than Hu tao ( arguably just one better option - Neuvillette) As for artifact sets- Please just get the Hunter set, the witch set is mega bait and a huge waste of ur time, the only thing its better for is slightly bigger screenshot dmg, even 2 piece 2 piece is close enough in value that its worth getting over witch 4 piece. Hunter even without Furina is just slightly worse in performance that you can still leave it on her outside of Furina teams. the hunter domain is one of your best value for your resin domains in the game ( if not THE most value for your resin domain in the game) Sub stats for Hu tao- Crit Dmg - Em - Hp% - Crit Rate - Atk% - Flat Hp Sands- whilst Hp% works, Em is just better and scales better than any other stat on hu tao Goblet - Pyro Dmg% is the best option here BUT on furina teams, if you are using an Em sands, the goblet can be hp% and perform almost the exact same if not better depending on the rest of the build - and even with pyro dmg goblet, you still prefer em sands for optimal performance This is if you are using homa or other non em weps, if you are using an em Wep then you HP% sands becomes better and u want to use pyro% goblet ( hp% goblet can still work just not as well) Circlet- if you are planning to build her optimally. there is no world where you ever consider crit rate main stat. Optimal f2p Vertical investment - Homa / C1 Furina Cons up to C2 Xianyun Wep ( Crane's Echoing Call ) Rotation - Furina- E - Q > Yelan - E -Q > Xianyun - Q - E1 ( you can E 1st if you want and you can E 3 times if you want ) > Hu tao - E - Normal Attack- Charge Attack- Jump - Plunge - (you want to cancel the charge attack animation by jumping before the animation is over and therefore you save time whilst the dmg still goes thru) you can also just ignore the Burst or use it whenever convenient, its not a must use every rotation but you can. (Feel free to ask anything you want ill try to answer) ( for the fellow nerds that want to correct anything please do I'm more than willing to change any misinformation or anything i forgot (wrote this whilst having my morning coffee off the dome) but pls i want numbers not feelings )

unlike kachina xilonen can't really give max 40% buff for multiple elements from the artifacts due to condition being in nightsoul state, only the 12% bonus can be gained there are rotations to get max buff for both elements that require specific setups but even then its inconsistent for multiwave

Triple crowned Hu Tao main since 1.3! Even after taking a break from the Chasm until late 4.7, she's still my mainstay and her ability to hold her place honestly surprised me. For me, she is the most fun and every so often I switch her team around to the point that I don't remember who she's meant to be with. Albedo, Baizhu, Qiqi, Xingqiu, Jean, Bennett, Furina, Nahida, Chevreuse, Raiden, Yae Miko, Sucrose, Thoma, Yelan, among others and now Xilonen have all entered her party at some point. Have never regretted pulling for her and her C1 even when I don't dash/jump cancel. Hu Tao, my best girl forever! The Zhongli, Emilie, Chiori team is what I use for Arlecchino. And Hu Tao gets to use the Furina/Yelan vape team. This is my default if pyro is allowed on both sides. The advantage of Hu Tao over Arlecchino is that she can be healed and can thus capitalize Furina more. Meanwhile, Arlecchino is more comfortable to play with a shielder and is not that reliant on vapes to do good damage, and I like both Emilie and Chiori enough that it's a good thing I can use both in one team.

Minor quibble, Jello: at 10:00 in the video, you talk about activating the Natlan support 4 piece set with Xilonen using either skill or burst, and you say you go with her burst. That's a bad idea. The Natlan Cinder City 4 piece set gives 12% damage bonus for 15 seconds when you proc a reaction involving the equipping character's element. It gives 40% damage bonus for 20 seconds when you do that while the equipped character is in their Nightsoul Blessing state. If you burst first, the effect triggers while Xilonen isn't in Nightsoul Blessing - because her skill hasn't activated yet. There's no CD on it, so it's fine as long as you refresh it with her skill in time, but if your pyro wears off in the meantime, you are killing your buff power and duration, and crystallize has a 1 second CD, AND Hu Tao's burst is 2U of gauge, which times out quickly and you spend time to swap/Xilo burst/wait for the crystallize CD AND you use a bunch of it for crystallize. It's possible if you are slow to trigger Xilonen or get hit before landing her skill, you could not be able to crystallize a second time, leaving you stuck with the shorter, weaker buff. A better play with Xilo in general is Skill and then either Q N1 N2, or N1 Q N2. This gives you the best buffs - though there might be some hyperspecific teams that want a set order.

Hu Tao review from someone who got her on her first rerun banner: Plot (10/10) If we ignore Archons (they've plot armor), no character is above Hu Tao in terms of how well written the character is. You know events and quests are going to be top notch if Hu Tao makes an appearance. Fun to play (8/10) Concerning gameplay, maybe she got a bit boring as expected with characters becoming more "complicated" in terms of gameplay / their kit. Investment: Artifacts (7/10) Unfortunately she needs a specific artifact set, but with a few "acceptable" alternatives now that players who have played for a while may already have nice pieces of. We also at least have an option of set fixed main and sub stats each "reset" and we can craft random pieces directly / while farming other artifact sets and not have to visit that cursed domain. So overall its not as bad as it used to be (like a 1/10 in the past). Investment: Constellations (?/10) In terms of gameplay AND damage there is no real reason to go beyond C0 or C1. Above that is more for simps, whales and meme build fans. Imo newer characters have a lot more room to improve because of their constellations. For me probably the biggest sadge aspect of Hu Tao. I really cant justify saving for more constellations and I really hope Genshin does something about it for older characters. Investment: Signature Weapon (4/10) I think we are at the point at which she does kind of wants Staff of Homa. Which isnt exactly bad though because its an amazing weapon for other characters as well. Other options exist and she should still be able to clear the abyss with them - depending on the team she is in it may become a little sweaty without Homa. Team Building (9/10) Has become incredibly flexible. Furina, Xilonen, Zhongli, Yelan, Kazuha, Sucrose, Jean, Qingue, Xingqiu, double geo + hydro (Albedo/Chiori), Xianyun plus a few other 4* Damage (9/10) Still a single target Queen. 1 point deducted because multiple enemies / grouping can be a real pain. If you dont have Arlecchino or dont like Arlecchino, Hu Tao is a clear pull recommendation. If you don't have Nahida though, I'd honestly pull Nahida first because she really helps in making electro characters more useful (and she is adorable as well). Skipped Arlecchino because she would really only be an "aoe" upgrade for me.

1:10 jump canceling doesn't actually let you do more charge attacks so damage is the same between no cancelation and canceled play styles. What it does is keeps you from shooting off into Narnia and missing a charge attack become your so far away. Once you get used to how she moves in groups of enemies you can choose when to follow through vs canceling a charge attack as both are useful.

Tao/xq/yelan/zl is very comfortable and still clears. Also leaves nuevilette's death star team fully intact. Even if you "lose out" by not running furina on the tao side, the death star team will more than make up for that time. I find it's so hard to find teams where furina isn't the best, and having this comfortable tao team available makes building other teams easier.

Personally I have a really well built hu tao, with c1 and the staff, and I still find the xianyun plunge just be on another level compared to zhongli double hydro. Plus its really really fun cause you can just dash and jump around the domain so easily

For the overworld Hutao, Furina, Yelan, Yao Yao is really nice. Build EM on Hu Tao and only do normal attacks since she is just procing burgons. Most of the team is doing their job using their skills so you are not dependent on bursts. And Yao Yao is enough healing usually to keep up with the self damage from the burning grass and from burgons. Finally Yelan and Furina can use their abilities to more easily traverse the world.

A super simple hutao vv vape setup is with XQ instructor and the combo is Bennet E, XQ burst( try to be close to the enemy to vape the ulti cast animation and do not use the elemental skill here or NA we want the enemy with no element applied) then Bennet Burst and Sucrose Skill for a pyro swirl and that's it, is super easy to do and probably her best team at C0 and really strong for speedrun, this setup also works with Arlecchinno but you use her elemental skill first instead of Bennet

As a hutao main, I wanna mention the Mona/Xianyun/Furina team, as plunge team doesn't need that much elemental reaction in order to vape as much as other non-plunge team. I find Hu tao team works slightly different in Xianyun team, I don't know about Yelan, but Mona C1 is better than Xingqiu in this specific comp as I tested.

Mona hydro application is not as strong as yelan, her buff duration is too short and only apply to the target hit by burst. Yelan in the other hand allow you to do CA plunge vape to maximize hutao dps and yelan buff last through multi waves as well.

If you don't have well built teams for abyss yet, I understand your concern, but if you already can clear it (or don't care about clearing so soon), I do believe there is no real problem to have two pyro DPS, since they can do different things. For example, in my account I have Klee for Pyro+Dendro related teams (like Furina Burn Vape, or Burgeon with Kokomi and Nahida), Hu Tao for Vaporize teams (like Xianyun with Yelan and Furina), and Liney for Pyro focused teams (like Kazuha and Dehya). It may take a while to actually build and use those characters, but you can have teams like that as a f2p. It really depends in which stage your account is.

Imo, pull for who you find more fun, rather than for who's stronger. At a certain point of investment, basically anyone can easily 36* and I'd rather play characters I actually find fun to play instead of "the best dps in the game" I find mind-numbingly boring to play (not talking about Arlecchino here). Also, yeah, as others said, the Theater now rewards some more horizontal investment, so having 2+ dps characters of the same element can be good (and even for the Abyss, you can easily have Hu Tao and Arlecchino on 2 sides of the Abyss... if you don't play Neuvillette instead).

I have Hu Tao since her release (C2+R1, CV+200) with her best supports. I like her. But most annoying part is farming Crimson Witch Artifacts. I've got good sand only few weeks ago(insane). On the other hand I could build even stronger Arlecchinno with Gladiators set even before I pulled her. P.S.:I love both my pyro Gals

I got Hu Tao as my second 5* back in october 2021 and she has ALWAYS carried my abyss and the hardest bosses from the game. I don't even have/like Yelan and Xingchiu isn't my favorite as well. People might laught at me but I use her in a team with Ayato (burst build) Mona/Furina c0 and Zhongli/Jean, there is literally no content I can't clear even with this "troll" team, full of my favorites characters (ok, pyro inmune enemies are not mentioned here). She is vibe, she is mood, she is strong and fun, my absolute second favorite character in the whole game. Sorry Arlecchino top1 meta dps and Xiangling lovers, she will remain my top pyro dps.

Artifacts are the big problem as it could take a free to play player from six months to a year for a certain piece with good stats and then it actually hitting what you need when you’re leveling it up. I win to lose made a video about it. I mean, you could get lucky but yeah, you could win every 50-50 as well 🤷🏻‍♂️ great video by the way 👍

Hu Tao - Xilonen - Zhongli - Xingqiu is super strong and super comfy, Hu Tao - Kazuha - Xilonen - Xingqiu gives pretty high dmg with a little comfort, pretty strict rotation though, not neccesarily hard to play. Hu Tao burst - Kazuha burst and skill - Xilonen skill - Xingqiu burst and skill - Hu Tao NA/CA You want to infuse pyro with Kazuhas burst.

HT, Furina, Fischl, Chev sounds kind of goated - chev provides the healing for furina, provides pyro resonance, buffs fischl and ht - fischl makes sure you can get more consistent vapes with just furina's hydro app only thing about this is that the ad buff from resonance and chev might be slightly devalued on hu tao

10:00 triggering a crystallize with xilonens burst will only give 12% elemental dmg bonus instead of the full 40% but I guess with furina and yelan as sub dps there isn't a big difference on who should get the 40%

Hutao is my very first and only character to be triple crowned. I got her on her 1st banner and I loved her since then. However, I took a long hiatus and when I came back she's not that good anymore. Now, with xilonen, I can finally enjoy my favorite character of all time, aside from ganyu. I can now hit 50k to 80k depending on my rotation, I'm kinda noob with rotation even tho I'm an og player. Nevertheless, thanks to xilonen, I can enjoy her so much now. Ps. Xilonen also boost my ganyu who now hit 100k, at her best lol, per bloom. Ppss. I'm f2p

I actually pulled Arle and regret it so much because she is too braindead (no shade just spam NA and that is it gets insanely boring for me very quickly) so I'm so frigging excited to get Hu Tao and the first character I've ever pre-grinded for (always been a weird luck superstition for me). @@doug3454 I've played both and I just don't like it. It's how I feel about Alhaitham and Eula (other regretted pulls) too since it's basically just NA spam with some added steps. Not sure why I've never liked that. I'm more of a bow person since I'm actually aiming (play on other stuff but mainly mobile nowadays for ease) and the range feels so much better haha.

My hu tao with 4 piece crimson witch of flames, lumidouce elegy, 63:222 crit ratio and still not doing any DMG and you want me to believe she's still great ? I haven't been able to get 3 stars in floor 12 Abyss. Her single strongest hit is 162103.

As an mobile player i prefer Arleechino over hu tao . Because she is easy to play and also doing more damage with white tasel ig. That's why I don't pull for hu tao and pull for Arleechino 😅. Mainly this is not a super hard game hu tao can also clear the hardest content in the game called spiral Abyss. but she needs 5/6 more seconds to clear the content where Arleechino does it 5/6 sec before 😅. So feel free to pull anyone u like . Even dori and xinyan can 36* with perfect builds and perfect teams 😢.

Can someone explain why Furina is one of the best teammate for Hutao? Don't they have anti-synergy? Hutao wants to stay below 50% HP. Furina drains hp to 50%. It's all and good but Furina also needs a good healer to maximize her buffing capebilities which is bad for Hutao. One of Jello's recommended plunge team for Hutao include Xianyun who is also a teamwide healer. Isn't she bad for Hutao? Edit: Ok nvm you axplained it here: 9:08

Don't farm crimson!! I watched a full review i forgot the channel practically 15-20% more crit damage does the same damage as 4 price crimson (the guy used 2 piece crimson 2 piece glad). And guys be real if u can't clear abyss with ur main it's a bad buy at this point!! Spiral abyss last boss has 4m hp i think. All these f2p hu taos do 50 vapes with charge attacks arleccino does 40k with normal attack hell if you go national with socrus driving, xiangling does 65k per hit

so i wanna run this new team xilo furina yelan hu tao right now my hu tao has dragons bane r5 and c0 what i wanna know is how much of a damage increase is her weapon because as i see it i prolly wont want her to stay below 50percent health as my dodging sucks(had zhongli so it didnt matter till now) so i was thinking of going for c0 but still wanna know how much better is her signature when compared to r5 dragons bane also i have always been using the shimenawa and i think i have 76.5-184.8 so it is worth changing to he fontaine set?
