Lineage Master Bruce Frantzis demonstrates the fighting applications and martial philosophy of Xing Yi (Hsing I). This rare video shows how each form and fist of Xing Yi is used specifically in martial arts combat.

So grateful to have this high level demo available for those who know what they're looking at. Awesome, clarifies a lot for me.

@TakgeyonBlackbelt Yeah, I think hes showing some interesting stuff about how the motion of the fists can work, other than the percussive strikes.

no thats fine sir, i'm just interested to understand your persepective. personally i think this is the best xing yi demonstration i;ve ever seen. all his applications could be used in a real fight, he has great speed and although he does not utilise power ( ecause he does not want to hurt his friend) you can see his has a lot of it.

@BRANSTEF Where exactly in Italy do you study Hsing Yi if I may ask as I am in Bologna and have seen very few Hsing Yi schools?

Did Bruce do professional fighting in Asia? I'm curious as to how internal martial artists train for a fight differently than those in UFC (as an example).
@stillnessinmovement6 жыл бұрын
it's a lot of personal practice in addition to all the normal fighting training.

Great observations. There is someone still left who has the skills you are talking about. His name is Wang Hai Jun. Ask Mike Sigman (possibly the most prolific no nonsense western martial artist into internal strength without the unnecessary bs surrounding it) about the difference between Bruce Kumar Francis and Wang.

Until I started taking Xing Yi, this made no real sense, to me. I really like the applications.

I've studied shaolin for 20 years, weapons, animal styles, hsing-i, ba gua, tai-chi, and , B.K Frantzis is a true master of the internal martial arts. The skill and knowledge he has is amazing , you could compare him to a very expensive "Rembrandt" painting, they dont make them like that anymore, and for you idiots out there making your stupid ass coments, why don't you do some reading, humble yourself, and buy a copy of "The power of internal martial arts, maybe you will learn something.

Mix the straight line with the circular there you find freedom from form. I.e. mix good karate with kung fu. Karate utilizes many good attacks while kung fu has many good deflections.As long as you maintain your awareness and you know how to create power and to defend in close rang i believe your self defense will be as good as possible.

My favorite internal martial art with tai chi chuan. Bagua zhang for example is not my favorite. Attention bagua zhang is good as tai chi chuan and xing yi chuan, but its only a question of choice ^^

Is he pregnant? Or does he have a huge amount of chi accumulated in his Dan Tien?

This guy looks like he's got pretty good technique. Although they're quite rudimentary at least he's showing some of the combat applications of the style. I get so sick and tired of Xingyi masters demonstrating the combat applications and showing only the "push" away. Lost count of how many of those I've come across. Come on guys! Show some of the bone crushing azz stomping stuff.

So what? a lot of people throw roundhouses punches in the real world. Even Thai boxers sometimes deal with kicks with their hands. Just one of many options, not the only way to deal with them.
@olemanshavadoo78934 жыл бұрын
Why doesn’t anyone in the UFC deflect punches like this? Putting someone off balance and avoiding being hit would end fights quickly. Lots of money if this works?
