The "innovation" is the trapdoor system that blocks your ascent at each floor. The actual elevator system itself is just your standard water elevator placed in the corner of two pillars of honey blocks. It uses the fact that honey blocks are not considered "full blocks" in order to clip part of your character model into the water elevator, which lets you rise upwards (albeit at a slower rate due to the honey).

Howdy! New follower but have been a hermit fan for the last year. I’ve finally gotten around to trying out your videos and I’ve got to say, thank you so much for your method of video making. You’ve totally inspired myself, and I imagine so many others, to create video content. Your honey-elevator was one of my first crossings with you. I was working through Cub’s Season 10 videos and when he credited you for the elevator; I immediately hopped onto my city build I had been working on an Earth SMP server to incorporate it into my high ride building (credited to you and all). I’m so happy to have subscribed to your channel and hope to keep learn more. Between to redstone (and building) of yours, the redstone+building of Mumbo, and BDub’s love for truly experiencing the building aspect of MC building. yall, and so many of the other hermits, have taught me so much this season. Thank y’all for creating such wholesome, positive, teaching videos. I truly aspire to the leave of y’all’s reach of spreading the love for MC. TLDR; new follower, love your videos, appreciate your style, happy the hermits brought me to you, hope to aspire to y’all’s love and level one day to join y’all ❤

I recreated the floored honey-vator in a creative world a bit ago- made a few adjustments. Made it a super-basic single-colum design, allowing you to drop down a floor at a time too, with water to break the fall. Im glad to see a new Shulker Farm design pop up! Love new creations, especially ones that don't use nether portals. Built an Etho Shulker Reactor a bit ago, for example. Makes me glad Doc didn't get the permit ngl.

There is a chance that a new shulker of the same color will spawn when a shulker is hit with a shulker bullet (including one of its own). The following conditions need to be met: When the shulker gets hit and then has less than half its health remaining, there is a 25% chance it will try to teleport without spawning a new shulker instead of checking the conditions below. The hit shulker must have its lid open. The hit shulker needs to find somewhere to teleport. For this, it takes a random block in a 17×17×17 cuboid centered on the shulker and then checks if the block has a valid face to teleport to. If not it proceeds to try this up to 4 more times. If no valid face is found, the attempt fails. Each other shulker within 8 blocks of the hit shulker decreases the odds of success by 20%. When five or more other shulkers are nearby, no shulkers will spawn, but the hit shulker still teleports. If the attempt succeeds a new shulker spawns where the old shulker was before it teleported.
