Seeing this makes me thankful for the fact that all of my flying has been with drones. I started with a losi 10th scale RC car. Electric with nicd batteries. The moment I saw drones on TV in around 2014, I knew that they were for me. The hobby was just so expensive, but the goggles and transmitter will probably last you. Most of the cost is props, motors, arms, antennas and batteries ect. The electronic bits add up quick. Planes are cheaper and far less complex. That and the extended flight time are the only advantages in my opinion. Possibly nostalgia as well. I've been flying drones for years and haven't met a soul in my rural county who flies an fpv drone or ever seen an FPV drone fly around with my own eyes... Sad. I tried flying line of sight in the beginning, but it ended badly.
