Nice that a woman already complimented you on your NEW TO YOU Cadillac!! On my 1990 Cadillac Seville, the neutral safety switch went and that's why my wouldn't start. I hate rebuilt ANYTHING because that crap always breaks again in such a short time that i echo your sentiments on hating to do the same job over and over and over and over again.

I wasn’t able to cruise around in the Cadillac, but I got it running. The next thing I want to replace is the tensioner… it makes way too much noise.😓

In my experience, it's so much better to find an alternator and starter repair shop. They will fix your unit for much cheaper than these junk ''reman'' units and it will work for real! Even better, it gives money to a small local business, instead of a huge business.

Agreed. But sadly those places are super rare anymore and most people don't have the time to wait till their units get rebuilt.

The starter was free it was under warranty. The car was $500 😁
