Good roundup man. Couple other titbits.. While on expo you can press left or right aileron to change just one side, if you don't input any aileron it will change both. Pcurve is indeed pitch curve (for helis) and while doesn't actually control pitch on a 3D quad, it does set your endpoints for 3D in a way along with the centre spot as there's no actual endpoint adjustment menu if you had noticed. It has no effect on a non 3D copter like the x252. The X100 is a little freaky in those regards as it has some mixing on the FC and stock X350 curves won't work for 3D on it as noted in the x100/x6 setup video I liked you on your x100 video. There's no reason to change it unless you feel power delivery is super uneven or want it less linear for some reason. The x6 is identical inside to the x7 and soon to come x8, it just has 2 un populated channel sockets you can plug things in to add features. No XK models will recognise the 8th channel yet but a simulator will or compatible Futaba RX. Swapping channels switches is as just plugging them in to a different port. I sitting here balancing the X252 props on the dubro and your were right, they do fit, kinda. Enough to take most of the wonk out of them anyway, thanks for that. I do have some vibes at higher throttle ranges and punchouts but not as bad as you did so hoping this helps. I got a full LoS flight in and about 3 seconds FPV as the lipo faded but the screen's feed is pretty jerky. I'm guessing yours was smooth as you didn't mention it but have you flown FPV with it past the little bit in your maiden video? Looking forward to seeing yours running smooth.

OK, cool. Thanks for the info! That is pretty interesting. Took the X252 for a few more flights today, and now I actually had a range problem all of a sudden one flight. This had happened to me once before, but while I had the shell open the antenna was flat against the board, so I lifted it up a little. Perhaps after crashes it got smushed down again. I melted a hole in the top and just pulled it up through, and now great range is back, interesting... If you can try it with just balanced props, and then the zip tie mod added in. The FPV feed is sometimes smooth, like when you are closer and better signal, but farther away it just get jerky, never seen one act like this, as when it is smooth it is actually really nice. Filmed and edited the camera test video today. So second (now working) flight video tomorrow, and then camera test video after that, and then the review probably, haha.

Not sure if there is a bind menu in here, but I was able to get it to bind to the XK X100 by holding the button on the X100 when I powered it up. I did bind it on a new model page.

@RCA - nice overview. Pretty sure the P. Curve has no effect on the X251/252, and that it's for collective pitch heli's that use the same X7 controller. You can see the effect of the P. Curve on a collective pitch heli here: bit.ly/2dkiDw3 Also, when setting D/R values, it isn't explained anywhere, but you actually have to set a value for BOTH sides of each stick throw. For example, if you are setting D/R for Roll (slot #1, right stick, left/right throw), you have to choose left roll by moving the stick to the left, set the value, then choose right roll by moving the stick to the right and setting that value. If you check your TX, you might find the changes you have made previously only apply to one or the other stick throw which you can see by choosing a slot and moving the stick to one endpoint and then the other - if you see two different values, you have only changed one of the two throw directions. hi guys, my xk x251 as died on me the other day, i went to plug the battery in and heard something like sizzling noise coming from the plug in area where the battery plugs in, any ideas guys? i may have tried to plug it in the wrong way without realizing it.

If you accidentally reversed the polarity bad things would happen for sure. Have you plugged it in correctly since then?

probably.... BE AWARE, REAR SCEWS HOLDING THE LANDING GEAR BRACKETS ARE TOO LONG AND CAN DAMAGE TWO FETS OF THE ESC BOARD AS DEPICTED BELOW...you have to REDUCE THEIR LENGTH FOR SAFETY!!!!!

Excellent information thanks!. I'm getting a x251 for my first quad it's perfect for what I want. I have flown a good few helicopters in the past, but hated the constant changing of batteries. Can't wait for mine to come. 😀 In the future I would love to get a DJI 3 standard but that's way out of my price range atm.

You the Man! Very big help. Before seeing all your vids, I just didn't feel like relearning all these things that gave me headaches, but now I totally want to go have my first flight with x252. I happened to have ordered whole bunch of LEDs and odd parts. I noticed that the antenna on the quad was noticeably longer than the required 3.12cm and was sitting on top of hot board. I will be doing something about this and make the LEDs more visible from bottom and top. Hope to share this with you guys soon. Thanks whole bunch!

Great video..i was searching for a manual or video to help me set up my X7 transmitter which i got with my X251 this video really helped.... I see that you can store different models on this but i am still not clear can you please share how you save different quads to different models (e.g. 251 to model 0 and 252 to model 8). Do you have to turn the transmitter on to a model first and then try to bind to a new quad and thus it saves to that model memory?

You just go into that menu and hit model select, and choose the number you want. I think it might go into auto bind everytime that turn it on, since even If I am in model 8, which is set up for the X252, I can bind to my X100, which I set up on model 0. It is just the radio settings and mixes that change really, so you can set up multiple profiles for different flying for one single model as well.

I'm learning so much from your video on the X7. This teaching an old dog new tricks is a lot of fun (one month flyer, a couple months from 70, lol). So I'm not burning money in my quest to learn as quickly as possible, I'm trying to get set up to use a simulator with the X7. I saw fellow on youtube with bad videos use an audio cable between the back of the X7 and the mic input on his PC, SmartpropoPlus and the FPV Freerider App. I had an audio plug but it didn't work as I'm guessing I need a 4 position plug to access the mic function as my PC has a shared audio/mic input, if that makes any sense. Then I thought, can I get this working with an audio plug that goes into the X7 that plugs to the PC via USB and would there be any advantage to going that route? Do you have any info on exactly what that X7 analog port is supposed to be used for? Have you tried to run a simulator from the X7. Probably enough questions .

I decided to bite the bullet and by the RF Drone simulator. It might have a USB cable that will work with the X7 and it has its own controller to get some practice that doesn't break parts.

Hi seudy! Yes i did figure out how to get the red botton to work but for the throtle hol it was never to work with the A1200 plane s' So if you want to see how to fix that red botton prob go to u tube under rober a capture 1 11 12 2016 and i do expain how to do it. I have also three flights recorded under rc plane. good luck

I am losing altitude and crashing on my bank turns with my x251. Don't know if I'm not giving enough throttle into the turn or too much yaw and it dives into the ground. Or do I need to adjust some setting on the transmitter?

I am not sure, I only ever bound the Xk X100 to it with the button.

I am pretty sure you can configure the radio to do so, but the ESCs and flight controller and not setup for that so I don't think it would work :/

RC, Did you change the rates for the X100? I'm having some difficulty dropping the gyro below 42. On throttle, motors spin up, cut out momentarily, then go again, usually then I crash.

I don't remember what I did, but I think I increased all the rates that moved the swashplate.

Hope you may be able to help. I just got the x7 controller with a whirlwind. When I turn it on, it starts beeping fast and doesn't stop. I noticed yours doesn't. Is this something you know anything about or is it possible it's defective?

yeah why does the x252 come on model 8? lol.... also T- curve is set at 80% for a """reason""" just like the new version of the x251 it will SHOOT to the one side really bad on a punchout at 100% . on my 1st version x251 it will fly perfectly on 100%. T-curve

Hi, I need your advice. have you or do you know anyone that uses the X7 on a flybar heli? I have this 450 flybar project and I will be using this radio. I have set 120 degree swashplate but I notice that CH6 PITCH does not move in tandem with CH1 AILE and CH2 ELE. I have tried 90 degree swashplate and it is the same problem. Maybe my question is a long shot but thanks if you can help me.

Xk x250 and x260 are probably the two quads that didn't work with x7 transmitter I guess.

+The RCAddict These two quads use wl toys protocol. Not futaba S-FHSS. Thats why most people use x250 with trantula x6 transmitter. I also find some futaba S-FHSS receiver on banggood and gearbest. Since X6 and X7 are pretty decent transmitter, buying a compatible receiver with BNF FPV quads might save a few bucks. I havent seen anyone trying it yet.
