XL vs. Large Harvest Right Freeze Dryer?!

Just a few weeks ago a friend of ours had a family member who wanted to get rid of their freeze dryer. They only used it one time. It is a small one, but we got it for $750 with the heat sealer, an unopened box of mylar bags and an unopened box of oxygen absorbers. I'm watching all the videos and learning as much as I can. I'm excited to get it all set up and get to work. Thank you for sharing.

Your flower arrangements are gorgeous! I would have never thought of freeze-drying as great for special memories. Thank you for showing the comparison with the extra large vs the smaller model. Its amazing how much of a difference the larger trays are. :)

Your flowers are incredible! What an ingenuous way to use the freeze dryer!! It was nice to see the difference between the two sizes. Once we have our mini orchard planted and producing, I think the XL freeze dryer will be best for us too.

Ohhh.....I am so happy that you shared this comparison. I think for the price difference I would get the XL. You are certainly fortunate to have 2 of them. I have been thinking of using up a lot of greens for storage when I buy a freeze dryer. I had some cinnamon apples in Switzerland last December that were freeze dried and they were so incredible. I have heard about bananas being difficult too. TYFS!

I certainly enjoyed seeing all you do! You are one busy gal! I do f think I will ever need an extra large freeze dryer, but for a young family with kids, farms, pets and farm animals (And hobbies) I can see where this information could be really helpful. I know it took time to go thru all that but it is well needed. Thank you for being a part of this collab!

Your setup looks fantastic! I appreciate the size comparisons. I want a freeze dryer, trying to put it in the budget. Also trying to figure out WHERE it’s going to live! I like seeing different setups so I can get ideas suitable for my needs. I have seen where people use the freeze dryers for candy, but it NEVER OCCURRED TO ME to use one for flowers. Thank you for this comparison. We were not considering an XL or a Large, mainly because we would have to get an electrician in to make a dedicated circuit for either one but also because we don't need something so big. The freeze dried flowers are lovely.

Man, the XL freeze dryer is huge. I can see how it would be an advantage for a large family or for someone who freeze dries quite a bit of food. I have the medium pro and it's plenty big for the hubby and myself.
