fun fact, in my country, Croatia, we have an actual city called Novigrad here! So it was so funny seeing that in the game I was like "what?? Our Novigrad???" and it's also medieval city on the Mediterranean coast with walls around just like in the game. There's also a city called Maribor in Slovenia, country next to us, that is also mentioned in the game. we had many Polish tourists for decades here I'm convinced the writer was once in Croatia or was inspired by our coast at least to use that name. some of the locations in the game like Novigrad and parts of Toussaint look really familiar and close to home to me, and so do the Slavic names, culture and lore... so things game is special to me :)))

It's highly possible that the name was taken after your city, as for the city itself it's based at least partially on our Polish city of Gdańsk. There are even a few identical buildings in the harbour of Novigrad. Also the city was renowned for being a multicultural couldron as the one in the Witcher. I love the fact how many people can identify with the features from the game :)

During the quest now or never, when you choose to save Berthold and Anisse, after defeating the witch hunters there and before leaving the house, Geralt can talk to the people near the door before leaving the house for the dialogue of turning those two in the witch hunters.

Just a small one, but if you follow the thief just after having visited Triss's house in Navigrad, he will lead you through the mummer's theatre area and into the area of the statue carving business of the two dwarf brothers, one of whom is later murdered just before the attack on Priscilla. After you see him briefly after passing by the two brothers, the next time you will see him is in the morgue.

Here is detail I found but cannot prove, maybe you can try it: In the quest "Of Dairy and Darkness" when you make it through the cheese maze Geralt will talk about how he can't wait to tell the story to Vesimir about his "Trial of Cheese". However the other day I was playing on the expansions + (BW or HOS only, with main quest done) he does not say that line. Maybe this is because Vesimir is dead? I don't know if this is true because I've only ever done that quest before Kaer Morhen. He also says a line later about he needs to tell Lambert that foglets are immune to smell of old cheese. Maybe if Lambert died in your playthrough he won't say that either? Who knows, try it out!

To water you mouth a little: I went from a 970 to a 1070 for 1920x1080. No way for Hairworks but 60 fps and a few graphic tweaks are possible and very awesome! The most impressing ones: Increased Shadow distances, increased Grass distance and LODs and a mod for super bushy grass! Then there are shadows for candles etc (too heavy on my GPU). Massively awesome and the best of all of them: a mod that gets rid of Geralt always being a light of himself. Install it and apart from caves, Geralt's back will be dark and only the true lighting will be visible. Also using a mod to alter the DoF distances. I was never so immersed by a game! @@user-ef5pk8ck5v I was so split between FCR and GhostMode! I went for Ghostmode because it gets rid of quest levels, enemy levels and fixes a lot of things that bothered me like armor type not making a huge difference or light stroke vs heavy stroke. With ghost mode you don't do any damage against ice giants etc with light strokes. You also don't do any damage to fire golems with Igni etc. I love it so much, lol! Together with all quest markers active on the map mod, you can just strive through the whole world and do whatever you come across. You should try that for your next playthrough! :) I'm gonna switch to FCR3 for Blood & Wine though to make the game compatible with the companion mod. And then I'll do the whole expansion with Ciri and Yen with me

About Scoia'tael and their leader. Just leave the price for the beast and tell that soldier you didn't find anything. Later in the game, when you play Gwent, you can get really cool card from one of those Scoia'tael in the woods

Are you sure they are the same group of elves? From what I know the only elf you can win a card(Ciri card, correct me if I'm wrong) from is the one to the southwest of Novigrad, not the place when you meet Vernossiel's unit.

yeah if you're talking about that Scoia'tael merchant in their camp close to Novigrad, between Lucian's Mill and Loggers Hut, he is always there and plays with you, and gives you the Ciri card. he is actually part of the "Big City Players" quest and not related to that other Scoia'tael group, no matter what you do... He also sells beautiful Superior Dol Blathanna sword which I am in love with :))

very nice video! By the way, in case you may have missed it, there is a quest near oxenfurt called Spooked Mare. I encountered it on my 5th playthrough. It is about Scoiatel stealing horses. A nice detail I noticed is when you take 2 horses instead of the 1 they allowed you, they will attack. You will also get more reward when you take the wrong horse.

The last clip about Orianna reminds me something in Blood and Wine I've found before. It's a shame that this isn't another incredible nice detail, but the opposite - it's may be a CDPR's mistake. Basically if you went to play Blood and Wine before entering the final battle in the main game, then you'll meet Regis normally, and when he asked about Ciri, Geralt would give a strange answer. I played this game in Chinese so I can't provide the exact lines he said, but he said something like he had found Ciri, then losing her trail in battle and resolving problems and finally took her back again. It's normal for a player who is playing this expansion after finishing the main game, but if you play Blood and Wine before finishing the main story, these lines are just quite odd.

In the southwest side, outside novigrad walls, there is a brickmakers and a few non human related side quests can pop up. After the Lambert quest where you look for Jad, the place where you find the redanian officer to turn in the katakan bounty, is turned into some kind of firing squad execution area, you can also find non humans working cleaning up the scene and digging graves for the executed non humans, and possibly their own.

Haha :D Thats so cute :D In czech language the stress is always at the beginning of the word, the first syllable. BUT there are vowels that use this sign ´ above them, this makes them sound longer. To Moritz: In my current playthrough I didn't help him in the time window you said, but directly after now or never. He can still be saved, but you cannot snd him to Triss anymore. The game will automatically choose the "bad" Dialogue option and then off they go

Vernossiel is near Glory Gate and it's one of the few quests where I had no qualms with murdering elves. They attack innocent people and won't relent. Furthermore, I decided to hand over my weapons the first time I did it, and had to fist-fight my way out of it. Such a pain.

There is also an abandon small village with graves beside it that you can find diagram of witcher gear in small treasure hole (you need to fight a nightwraith), the first time i went there, wraiths and ghouls roaming the area but never again if you passed that place after you killed them all. But after you finish main game, you will find a lot of corpses of refugees or non human being burned there with few dead soldiers or mercenaries (based on the letter that you can loot on one of them) who probably supposed to kill and burned them, and they were killed by different type of wraiths (red cloths one) and much stronger who now coming back roaming that place because of the mountains of corpses these soldiers brought to that place. Proving that when people died in hatred and sorrow, the stronger the wraiths. And also, mountains of corpses...

Hi, as a Pole I just wanted to mention something very interesting about the 2nd detail from this video(one about genitalia inspection). If you're playing W3 with the English language version, the exchange between doctor and Geralt is ,,Shit" ,,-Syphilis, actually" But in Polish version it is ,,Cholera" ,,Raczej kiła" ,,Raczej kiła" can be translated into ,,Syphilis, actually", just as in English version. But Cholera is the name of another disease ( I think it's got the same name in English), so there's the little joke. I know how much you love Carnal Sins quest so I hope you like it:)

@@xLetalis thanks, there were 15 mission total I failed in my first run because of time restraints, or simply n ot knowing the character would no longer be available to play for gwent. another one is Yennefer's last wish, if you leave skellege and talk to her in novigrad you fail it. brothers ion arms is another one that will cause you to loose your full crew achievement. someone told me brothers in arms was just talking so I auto failed those three. sad face... lol this game taught me to take time and listen to the dialog. I started over in game+ to get a perfect run! =)

@@xLetalis I found another one in my replay through... lol gangs of novigrad and get junior. it seems you are forced to either fail gangs of novigrad completely, or take an X on the use secret entrance objective on get junior. if you go stealth you fail gangs on novigrad when you meet Vernon Roache. if you go gang ho then the grate is sealed and you have to use the main entrance.

Just found this: During the night meeting with the spy in Farcorners you can tell Triss to kill him. She then uses a worded spell and he falls down. After she leaves Gerald can search him with his witcher senses and says "Looks alive". Maybe Triss didn´t kill him after all.

This isn't so much an interesting detail, but a funny glitch you can do in novigrad. During the "Play's the thing" quest, you can avoid paying the ticket seller at the front but going around the block near the eternal fire altar and scale one of the low roofs. Then jump over the wall and you'll be inside. Afterwards you can come and go as you please and he doesn't say anything

Pretty sure you can find Moritz on the pyre at anytime as long as you dont go near the glory gate because i found him after i did the skellige quests. Except he has different dialog, he calls you out while you walk by screaming "geralt save me". If you save him then geralt will say something like "leave novigrad and next time your in trouble dont drag me into it."

I've only replayed Witcher 3 after about a year of abstinence. Haha. Anyway, usually, when I went to Novigrad at the beginning of the Pyres of Novigrad I wonder around the city trying to finish quests related to the city and also around Velen. Note: I HAVEN'T STARTED THE PYRES OF NOVIGRAD QUEST and avoided the town square where Menge was burning a mage and a Doppler I rarely go straight to Skellige, especially the first time I played the game 4-5 years ago. A few weeks ago I decided to drop most of the main quests in the Continent and went straight to Skellige. As usual, go to Novigrad docks and find a captain willing to sail, go the Golden Sturgeon and meet one drunk captain there. The point that I'm trying to make is at the Golden Sturgeon. Anyone remembers Master Claytop, the "fight promoter" there? I went to him and asked to join in a fight, as all Witcher gamers do. I decided to join on "an enterprise" as he says and threw the fight of, losing. Then, I challenged the fighter again to actually win it. Afterwards, I went to Skellige and wondered between there and Novigrad. This morning, I went from wondering around in Skellige back to Novigrad. Rode Roach to the Fish Market searching for a blacksmith, just wanting to know any dialogue option concerning Hattori (haven't started Swords and Dumplings either). This is the point that I get to the point. Near the merchant were a group of thugs that shouted something about "For Master Claytop!" or something. Naturally I killed them. The question is, has anyone ever encountered Master Claytop's thugs before? I don't remember having meeting them in the 5-6 times I replayed Witcher 3. As a Pole about the "Czarodziejki" translation, "Witch" is not quite correct, as in Polish we have the words "Czarodziejka" and "Wiedzma" which both technically translate as Witch, but Czarodziejka is much more culturally positive and Wiedzma is culturally negative. For example, the Witches of Croockback Bog in Polish language version are called Wiedzmy, whereas Triss or Yennefer are called Czarodziejki, which implies the first to be malicious, and the second to be non-malicious

You can save Moritz up until Isle of Mists, provided you don't pass through that gate prior. If it happens after Triss and the mages leave, you get different dialogue.

In Carnal Sins, while looking for the right body in the morgue, there is another dwarf body you can look at. Gerald will say something along the line of "This must be him" and Gratz will say "This one's female actually... Remember, beards are no indication of gender among dwarves." That cracked me up!

Sleepy Outcast I think that's the cave you go to for the soothsayer where you get the root to tell you your future, I think the soothsayer says something about how people don't venture into that cave anymore.

the best one in my opinion is the blacksmith in skellige who talks to Geralt like a dick and when Geralt asks him what's wrong he says" how would you feel if you recently lost your son to the sea? I wasn't even able to recover his body" and geralt just says" gwent?" and the guy just smiles and nods.

Near the village that you help both Roche and Vess in Velen, there is a tree in wich you can find a hanged corpse, if you examine it you can find a note of some newly made book, about the war between Redania and Nilfgaard, in which is implied that the hanged corpse is indeed the scholar from Oxenfurt that introduces the basics of Gwent for Geralt at the tavern from White Orchard.

Here's another thing people are likely to miss: During the "Without a trace" quest, you can find the halfling dead and half-eaten by the cannibals couple in Erde. If you kill them, then return later, there will be a bunch of alghouls near their corpses. Geralt will then remark how much of a poetic justice it is that they should be gnawed upon by necrophages.

During the quest "A Walk on the Waterfront" when you have to escort and act as a bodyguard to Ginter de Lavirac, when you get to the meeting place with the fisstech dealers, one of them asks who Geralt is, and Ginter says "He's my gardener". It reminds me of when in The Two Towers, Frodo introduces Sam to Faramir and he asks if Sam his is bodyguard, and Sam says he's his gardener.
